Hey man, that was fun to watch! I’m a 4.0 guy from the North Shore (Boston) area and I love watching 4.0 matches from around the country. Good on you for putting out this content. I’m afraid of what I actually look like so I’m definitely not recording myself!!! Haha. So let me say, I love tennis! I love the joy (and sometimes pain) it brings me and the friendships. It’s like therapy for my soul. I’d love to share some thoughts that have been given to me over the years and have helped me improve my game tremendously and I’m playing the best tennis of my life (even though at almost 47 I’m not in the best shape of my life, haha). Dubs is about percentages and if anyone could win 55% of their points played they’d always win (right…right!) So we need to put more balls in play. There were a lot of forehands missed (were 4.0 guys, so yeah we’re going to miss some shots for sure) But we need to be more consistent. At 9:54 you hit a solid forehand, didn’t over swing and try to hit a winner and the point went your way. You have a big forehand but if you watch this back, you’ll see you missed too many and even the ones you ripped weren’t necessarily points you won. That was me a number of years ago and I was told to focus more on where the ball goes and less on how hard. Controlled aggression I call it. When the percentages are high to rip a ball with good margin and force your opponent into a defensive shot, ok go for it. But most shots are to set up your partner for a easy net ball. And net play. I used to live on top of the net and this guy said “your way faster moving forward then back” so start back (mid service box) and as either you or your partner make contact move forward (a few steps). Your movement around the court is awesome. When the ball got past you, you moved back a bit until your partner hit the ball and then closed off again (shrinking the court where the opponent’s could hit and looked a volley). I think you were too close to the net in your partners serve because you had a hard time getting your racquet on the balls cleanly. You got skills for sure man! Also your partner has a bomb serve! If you’re ever in the Boston area hit me up!!
