Dresser Restoration - Making New Drawers
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 лют 2021
- In this video I show how to re-create a drawer as part of a larger mid-century modern dresser restoration project. This project involved some traditional woodworking techniques, some CNC application, and some pocket hole joinery (I prefer the term screw pocket joinery). The new dresser drawer turned out great.

Wow, I have watched all your channels for the last several years I think. You have proved to me that I could accomplish my dream of having a UA-cam channel. Due to your inspiration I have started it. A little less than a month ago. It’s moving slowly But I am enjoying the journey. Thank you so very much, again.
Hi Fred, I found your channel when I was looking for help me assembling 2 RTA cabinets that I bought online that came with 1-page vague line picture instructions and no text. You are easy to follow, and even though you assembled different cabinet, your video was helpful.
A few days ago I was looking at your old videos and came across #67 where you talked about your hand X-rays showing advanced arthritis. I wish you well. I am a life-long DIY’r, and also experiencing a dramatic change in my arthritis in one year. You have inspired me to go for hand X-rays so I can see what’s going on.
I appreciate you enlightening me on this subject.
Today I am enjoying your video on rebuilding furniture; I will be tacking a kitchen hutch soon and changing the 3 drawers that rode onwood slats like your project, to heavy duty drawer slides with ball bearings to handle each loads like plates & bowels and pots & pans.
Way to go Fred, nice restoration!
Thanks Bob.
Great job Freddy. It’s good to see you in the shop and in front of the camera
Thanks Patrick. It feels good!
The darwers turned out nice.
Thanks Scruffy!

So nice to hear from you Douglas. It's been a while. I'm am really enjoying the space. I'm so lucky I pinch myself every day. I'll be putting out more about the Track Tubes soon. I have a new batch coming any day and I want to demonstrate all the uses for them. The tops will probably be sold as well. But I'm working on something now that I think will be a game changer..... oh the suspense.... :-)

Another great job from one of the best woodworkers on UA-cam , The way you explain things makes it so easy to understand. Makes me want to run out and buy me a saw and try some woodworking, : - )>
You're too kind my friend. Too kind in many ways. Thanks for checking it out.

Great video man...2021
Thanks Eye! So good to hear from you again.
Been a while, Fred! Been missing you. That finished project on that drawer was beautiful. Love your pocket hole set up, that's nice. Really liked your router table setup as well. Be waiting for your next one, take care of yourself til then. Thanks for the tips, you make it simple the way you explain it. Maybe next one you can put links to the pocket hole tool you use and maybe other good things like it.
Good to hear from you Micheal. I appreciate your kind words. I've done three build videos in the new shop. Hope you saw the other two. It's so nice to have this space. I'm very fortunate.
@@GotItMade I watch everything that comes out. I even look for you on IG when you float something out there. Happy you got the space, you needed it and you will make very good use of it in time to come. And I can't wait to see it all.
Nice job and I see you're still doing great work and informative videos. Been awhile since I've checked in but glad you still going strong. Stay healthy my friend and tell that sweet gal Hi.
So nice to hear from you Billy. I've done three vids in the new shop now. Hope you saw those! It's really nice having the space.

@@bcstexas Heck yeah! would love to see you. Just lemme know when! You should still have my email and number!
@@GotItMade yea O got it.
Interesting.sure my hub will like that
Great to see you, hope all is well. The walnut is beautiful. Amazing job as always
Thanks Derek. Good to hear from you!
Love your videos. Enough information to show how things are done, but not so much it becomes tedious to watch. Perfect. But I have one question. Where did you get that blue work shirt? I have been trying to make out the tag on the arm but can't. I really want one... ;)
Thanks for watching Michael. The shirt is a Red Kap shirt. You can get them off Amazon. :-)
Hey Freddie long time sice I'm here. You know story. I'll be in touch soon
It looks gorgeous...but it doesn’t seem like it’s going to match the rest of the piece if the original drawer gives any indication of the color, finish, and condition of the rest of the original.
Why “screw pockets” and not “pocket screws”? Trademarks?
I would think the "screw pockets" was in the wood and the "pocket screws" are the metal things that hold the wood together.... But I am probably being way to simplistic. Actually just upping the comment count for Mr. Fred!!! 👍😊
Hahaha. Thank Danny. Walter, what Danny was saying is exactly my answer. Thanks for watching y'all!
Hello I’m diywert I just changed my channel name
