What a joy to see sharp blades doing their work. I’ve been woodworking for 45 plus years and now my body permits me only small amounts of manual work. So, rough work is all machines, leaving me to finish by hand. I wish I were 40 years younger in body but with all the experience I have now!

Ahhhh the card scraper, how did I ever work without one. Picked up a cabinet scraper once I learned how awesome scrapers were in general.
You can even hear how hard that wood is on your tools! I was scared for your chisel! Excellent work as always.

very nice :D handy the bottom a different wood. i do pop a magnet inside my needle tins as their preference is to fall when open and full. absolutely lovely box and sweet the work put in :)

Every cut, shave & chisel action was slow, deliberate & perfect. I wish I could be anywhere close to any of your skills.
I love it; love it; love it. That box is very similar to a pencil box I made this year. Very similar miter on the sliding lid
Now, one very minor irritation....please don't "throw" your tools like that. I realize that sawing that hard, hard wood is tiresome but I winced every time you put the tool down. Your skills are beyond mine; and I appreciate your care and ability. I just had a throw back memory when you dropped your saw on the table.
Yeah, yeah, petty, I know but working wood is visceral and I just had a visceral reaction.

Great! maybe for your Leathertools you make a fine Leather Sawhorse ( stitching Pony ) out of Maple, Walnut or what ever special Wood you have in Stock. ( only a Suggestion) ;) i heard you also do some nice Leatherwork.

Is there a reason you used a chisel for the 45 angles instead of a shooting board? Such excellent work captured ❤ never seen that type of wood before.
Beautiful work! What happened to the width you lost from the saw kerf when you cut off the top edge of the end piece, to attach to the lid? The width of your four sides would have been different.
That looks like some very hard wood. How well did your plane blade hold up to it? Beautiful work as always my friend
Snake wood is absolutely beautiful, but no fun to work with. How many times did you have to sharpen that plane?

When you make a box like this and you cut through the groove to make one open end and then glue the cut off part back on the lid, how do you not have a saw kerf gap (plus any planing done)?

Hello. I was curios on what tpi you use on your veritas dovetail saw?
So much better than a 3d printed box. Ripping that wood with the Japanese saw is a workout, but worth the effort. That box will live for many lifetimes. GReat work!
