Rose beige with a brown interior is spot on, I had a rose beige 87 wagon rusted to shit, and a cream yellow 88 wagon in mint shape that unfortunately met a fate wreckage. Damn Mercedes drivers lol, great find man!
@@volvoenthusiastsgroup3386 when I saw the light react to revving, I thought it was a clogged screen, passage, low oil, etc.. but you removed that sensor from the equation and still had the issue. I know on the cars I've looked at, the wiring was nothing to brag about..
I drove a 240 about 1600 km on one occasion with 500mL in the sump. After a regular normal service the mechanic failed to refill the sump. The oil pressure dash light did not light up at any time. I did hear intermittent sucking noises the entire way but no oil light. Those engines will run on the proverbial smell of an oily rag. Perhaps the oil pressure sensor is dodgy . Perhaps the electrical circuit is faulty. Perhaps the oil filter is blocked. I presume the dip stick reads normal. Is there a blockage in the oil gallery near the sensor? But the engine definitely runs smoothly. It is definitely worth saving.
My local Volvo guy will always reroute that wire from under the oil pan to run all the way back along the firewall and passenger side fender, and then under the coolant tank.
@@volvoenthusiastsgroup3386 Often when they fail on a redblock you get sporadic lights on the dash due to voltage fluctuation. Curious what the voltage at the alternator is, the terminals disconnected from the battery while running and the battery by itself. Could possibly be a completely dead battery that the alternator cannot charge.
@@volvoenthusiastsgroup3386 Just read something about the oil pressure issue. You said you did an oil change. OK, after running the engine, let it run for a while then shut it down and pull the oil filter. If the filter is empty, it would be an indication of a oil pump problem.
@18:39 You already won because those leather seats are rare because the 240 was cheapskate's first choice. Someone who needed something save, inexpensive and practical.

@@volvoenthusiastsgroup3386 oh yeah, at least +15% more.. but this would've been a beautiful car to have started with.. it's definitely got value regardless of the engine condition.
I lust over 240s. Volvo for life.
Long live the bricks 🇸🇪🧱
That was a steal at that price!, glad to see there was no real "Mechanical Damage" I would have loved to pick up a manual 240 for that value.
Definitely dodged a bullet. Im sure that mechanic damage written in bold red letter contributed to the price being so low😂
I have an 86 240 wagon that is still going. Love it because it it a manual transmission. They are wonderful cars

Man you are killing me with all of your steal deals. lol. great find
I spend what most people would consider a ridiculous amount of time looking for Volvos for sale 😅😂
@@volvoenthusiastsgroup3386 You are obsessed...love it. Btw I have a Heico v70 and 850R. I hope to get a red block one day
Nice video and great looking 245. I actually like the brown interior, it's kind of rare here in Sweden.
Thanks for watching the video! I’m definitely a fan of the color combo in this 240!
Good troubleshooting.. that's definitely great pressure, with most engines you need a minimum of 10 psi / 1000 rpm..
I find it funny watching the oil light flicker and turn off and on with nothing connected to it 😂

My Favourite Cars - VOLVO 200 SERIES.
Awesome, what an amazing buy, you are a lucky guy!
I'm 14 minutes in, my guess is the insulation is flaking off the oil sensor wire or it's grounding out somewhere.
My local Volvo guy will always reroute that wire from under the oil pan to run all the way back along the firewall and passenger side fender, and then under the coolant tank.
Even at $600 it's in great condition and a great candidate for a motor swap.
That’s definitely going to be the plan for this guy! I didn’t know it was a common problem until I bought this 240. But I’m glad it’s a simple fix🙏🇸🇪
Thats how u save a classic Volvo, on the cheap!😉
Haven’t seen 240 prices like this in a long time glad I had the opportunity to pick this one and the banana wagon up!
Oh no, you called that volvo stupid. LOL just kidding!
It probably needs an alternator.
Smart! Probably a good idea to check if it’s charging correctly

@@DeanofMachines same thing happened to me in my 240 2 weeks ago. Alternator died 2 days later. Completely smoked was reading under 11 volts.

I would be very interested to buy this Volvo. Give me a call on the progress of this car. Thanks in advance
