Bro this is amazing. You put your heart in and soul into this boat, when so many others would have given up. Your dedication to the sport and your skill improvements is beyond reporting. i truly admire your dedication Brother. Keep up the amazing content!! Can't wait to see what 2023 has in store
So good to see the boat finally out. I’ve watched all of the videos. I bought a 1989 Pantera II late last summer that had been in storage for 21 years. I have it running well and everything is original. If there is ever anything that you want to know about how the original set up looks just let me know. Good luck! Keep enjoying
Tournaments in older boats can be brutal. I had a short arc in my aluminum hull on Toledo and not only lost all lights, it also took out my trolling motor power wire. It can all be fixed, it's part of the fun in fishing tournaments.
Don’t sweat it to bad. I have a newer boat and almost always have something go wrong, break, or need repair. It is all part of it. Instead of asking if I caught fish when I get home my wife just ask how much it cost this time. I do like your videos. Thank you.
Just get some 1 inch x 1/4 thick alumium the same size as your hinge and put it on the door side of the hinge and space the door over till it closes. Work just fine.
I'm here in ohio too, I found your old motor from the boat on Market place. I have been thinking about buying it. You're not too far from where I'm at. Hope to see you at a tournament sometime.
As far as the hindges go for the live well lids. Is it possible to mount or screw the back part of the hindge to the top part of the deck. So that the hindge is in a 45deg angle when closed. Instead of folding down to zero deg. If that makes sense. Mount the screws under the Seadeck. To add where I am coming from is that I know what it is like taking a boat that has been sitting and then making it into a fishing machine. Took a 1987 Laser bass boat 16ft 70hp Merc 2 years ago starting in June and hitting the water foe the first time in mid August of last year. So a little over a year to get it on the water. So far have been towed back to the dock 2 times. 1 time last year. Don't want to say what happened, other than it was my fault and I really didn't need the tow but it happened anyways. And the second time was just a little over a week ago and the ignition switch broke. I could get the motor to turn over but it was like the kill switch was on. Could not get it to fire. I am sure there is something in that switch that prevented me from getting it started.
Going fishing at least twice before fishing another tournament. Keep 5. Cull. Make sure everything works. It’s just embarrassing. I did the same. First boat 1982 ranger. 6 years ago. I was 23. Showed up to boat ramp for a local river tournament and my throttle cables were backwards. It’s like I’m watching myself all over again with this series. Take your time. Fix everything, replace it. Rigging gets you by. But doing it right lasts. Won a couple in her. Still have her. But run a newer boat now. And please find a heat gun to take off the old numbers lol just trying to give advice from experience. Be proud tho. That feeling getting on plane never gets old.
Absolutely, hahah I just only get so much time between makin videos for y’all and working on the boat. Can only do so much in a week. It’ll get there! Not my first tourney either. Use to have a nice boat and fish derby’s a ton. But then I bought a house and it all went to poop 🤣
Hey man, I have an XR6 and would be happy to help you figure out your shift situation. Definitely looks like your cable is too short. Use the barrel screw to make it longer. How can I send you photos of proper assembly? Wanna send me your email address?
I'm not being a smart ass, I'm going to get some hate. Ditch that Merc, spend the money and get a Yamaha, Suzuki or even hell, a Honda. I've been in the industry a long time and mercs are always troublesome. I see 15 mercs for every Yamaha/Suzuki. When they're running, they're awesome, but reliability is not their strong suit. Tough loss for yah man, hopefully you learned something.
@@TightlineTVthat one did... they're not ALL bad, they've made some damn good ones. Those xr6 like you have are pretty solid. Just saying as a professional, I've seen more issues with mercs than I have with anything else. I will say though, Merc props...they got that crap figured out.
I lost Drive & Reverse! That’s what got cut. Sorry bout that. Hope y’all enjoy!
Brother we can redo them. Send me the outside specs you need. We got you covered

@TightlineTV My pleasure Brother. Its easy to support genuine content creators who shares the same passion!!

Keep up the fight, love the struggle bus videos. Still think you would be a great shop teacher. Great passion and presentation skills.
It’s great to see a successful conclusion to a long term project that seemed impossible a year ago. Congratulations on your perseverance. Way to go.
Thankyou!
Get yourself blinker style switches for your jackplate and motor tilt/trim.. easy to install, and you can keep two hands on the wheel at all times..
What Nancy drives with both hands on the wheel?
It is awesome to see the BassCat on the water!!!! Keep up the great work, Team BassCat since day 1!!!

You should get blinker trim for your Jack plate and tri, so that you have it at the steering wheel. That way you can adjust it easily while driving/
So strange to see a bass boat without 5 or 6 electronics mounted everywhere!!!!! You are definitely going old school.
Trim that thing up let her eat 😂 get that thing chime walking👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
🤣 gotta break it in first. It was completely re-sleeved. Want to make sure she’s lubed up before I rip away
Keep the faith and I look forward to your continued rebuild and tournament coverage
Job well done pondhopper aka Mr tightened tv

Baby steps, looks good and is coming together....
I’m jealous I love those fixer upper’s I love little projects like that

Thinking on your shifter cable . Thinking there is a tab on the underside part that you were turning that your cable hooks into.
Caleb better have caught a fish after breaking that rod. lol. Just kidding all jokes.

Owning one of them motors i can tell you its idling a little high should idle around 800 ir sounds like 1100 rpms
Turn that peace all the way around one side is different
I had the same color 1991 pantera 2. It was a fantastic boat.
Keep up the good work! Cool seeing it on pad!
Something I would add as soon as possible is a temperature guage for the motor. Glad to see the Basscat finally moving.
There should be a alarm on it for when it gets to hot
Never seen a temp gauge on an outboard
All my console boats have had them
What tournament on misquito lake
we need to get Garmin on board to get you some stuff man it would be great!! Great video man been watching for a while.
I need to find me a sponsor for a graph🤣 I’m tappin out on cash hahaha
Awesome!! I love that boat!!
What part of Ohio are you in man. I've been keeping up on the build. Maybe I can help
Definitely get your gauges installed asap
Central Ohio here.. fish on buddy

@@TightlineTV ~ yeah, that clown obviously hasn't been keeping up with the series.
Sounds like it is idling high. It shouldn't clunk when you put it in gear.
They all clunk when put in gear. What are you talking about? Some are just louder than others.
Love your content and your passion for this sport. I think financing a boat for a couple hundred a month doesn't sound too bad lol.
your not wrong haahahahaha
I just bought an 05 legend 186 I have the same motor on my boat!
It rips!
Finally!!
which shifter controller you have I’m trying to buy me one
It’s just an old oem mercury
U didn't hook it up rite mine did the same an i looked at it an it wasnt rite
Use a metal pipe clamp like on a radiator hose
My boat did the same thing I just tightened it up
Turn the cap over it common problem with the xr6 motors
I thought that lake look familiar.
Y not cut a 1/4" off the edges n boom u done it will sit flat
Yeah can’t see it on plane get one of those things that Hoover over head
