As much as an absolute idiot Lucien was, that deleted scene was ADORABLE.
To think a part of me ALMOST wanted to see Freya and Lucien together as a couple.

Juan Douglas if you look it up it states that his goal wasn’t to kill the Mikaelsons but to kill Klaus. He murdered Finn and Camille so that Klaus would come to him and when that didn’t work he targeted everyone else. He didn’t necessarily want the other Mikaelsons dead he just thought if he targeted them Klaus would come to him. And also there was the fact that if Klaus went to him before he targeted everyone, the other siblings would’ve gone after him as well to protect their family. So either way he had to deal with them. But originally it was not his actual goal.
Lucas Gray, he still had no justifiable reason for trying to kill Klaus, Lucien even admitted that it wasn’t out of hatred but basically to flex his own ego

I was so rooting for them to get together!
I think it would have been a great idea to have Lucien and Freya get together earlier in the season, it would have been nice to build up this dynamic as initially something purely physical (ie. "you're hot, I'm hot, let's get together" etc.) and watch it evolve into something like we see in this scene where it's clear they've become romantic.
Then when Lucien turns out to be the bad guy, we can see him wrestle with the desire to smite the Mikaelsons, but not want to hurt Freya. And when Freya obviously chooses her family over him, he forces himself to try to go after her as well, only to lose to her magic in the end.
A great, tragic love story for S3 and would have set up why her trust issues with Keelin are so strong in S4.

They should’ve made it so Lucien was good and Freya became a couple and got married and Finn lived and they would have one massive family reunion in the compound with 6 of the Mikealson siblings back together and Finn helps raise Hope he tells stories and boom a happy ending until the hallow happens
I think in this scene Lucien realised that he actually don’t want to hurt Freya because she’s already broken. He had definitely a thing for her we can see that. I wanted to see them as a couple so bad. Just a kiss. I Didn’t wanted more. They had so much potential but the writers trough it away like it was nothing.

As much as i love Freelin, Frucien would have been a great couple.

I really wish Lucien didn't turn out the way he did. Like people would suspect that he is the bad guy but it would be revealed that wasn't. What they did was really predictable, making Lucien the bad guy.
