We left Omaha area 2 years ago and moved to SW Missouri. We have 2.45 acres, CHICKENS!, fruit trees, and raised bed gardens. Talk about heaven!!! Hope you get yours soonest!
Oh my that Rugrats yarn is awesome! So much fun to have so many supporters of sock camp. Wonderful to bring all these small businesses to our attention.
Splitting the cake and then working back and forth between my 2 socks is how I do all my pairs of socks (cuff, cuff, leg, leg, etc). Plus, then my leftovers get put into my dk jelly roll blanket and having the 2 even cakes makes that easy to hold them together for that. It's a great system and I can't imagine only doing my socks any other way.
I really enjoy your channel and patterns. I haven't knit socks for many years, but you inspired me to go back to sock knitting. Love your techniques and advice. Marking the leg every 10 rows is amazingly helpful. Thank you for many other hints and finishing ideas.
I am having so much fun in Summer Sock Camp. I finished my first WIP, and am trying knitting a pair in tandem as a new to me thing. I cast on a pair of socks tonight for my Christmas gift list ! This kal is SO motivating!
Enjoying my first SSC. I also enjoy seeing all the socks and beautiful yarns. Thx for allowing WIPs to be included. I have no more sock WIPs, just the ones I’m now starting.
@crazy sock lady, last summer sock camp I cast on my first socks using your Vanilla Sock pattern. 3 socks and 1 year later I finally have a pair (finished while watching this video). Here is hoping to many more pairs now I have my measurements and stitch counts. Thanks for the great pattern and helpful video.
So envious of this Boombox yarn kit. It’s gorgeous and I almost purchased it. But shipping to Canada with the exchange rate, the customs fees and all would be unreasonable 😅. I will still find a way to enjoy SSC with stash yarn
❤ just wanted to say I knitted my first pair of socks ever at 50 😊 ! They came out perfect. Thank you so so much for your tutorial on 9 inch needles, I'm dyslexic and struggle reading patterns so to be able to follow along with the video and your visual and verbal instructions was brilliant
The red mini looks like a great cuff and heel contrast color! Also the little needle keeper wallet is so cute and extremely practical! The zippered pocket looks like a great place for lightbulb stitch markers. ❤
I received yarn for socks yesterday. When I opened the package it warmed my heart it is so beautiful! I can’t wait to cast on. Summer sock camp is such fun!
I’m so very excited! I just ordered your heel toe do si do sock pattern! I’m always making socks thanks to you, having learned only a few years back now at the age of 70. Lol, I should have found knitting way sooner. I’m currently using the vanilla sock pattern on 9in circulars in Felicini yarn by knit picks. Self striping…thanks, Kay, for your wonderful videos!
For your two at a time socks, you could knit with worsted weight yarn a ribbed tube, put ribbon through a round on each end, then put the two balls of yarn back to back inside the tube and tie the ribbons at each end. Then the balls are easier to untangle! I made one with red sparkle cotton yarn and put Christmas yarn in it for SSC socks.
All the gorgeous things you showed today have me swooning! I won't be much help suggesting what to do with the Boom Box Sock Set (which is such a cute idea)...you have no idea how much I struggle with making decisions on color mixing. I'm sure whatever you decide will be fantastic. A girls night out at a concert? Who could ask for anything more? Have fun rockin' to the tunes! Glad to hear Piper is back to her puppy self too.
I think I’d use the green, blue and purple boombox minis together (shorties? - I have small feet so 60 g is enough) and then use the red solid mini with the red speckled mini (and then with some other leftovers).
16:41 With those FUN neon colors, I think you should use black for the cuff/heel/toes ( or any combo that you like! But, then use the solid mini as a small stripe between the others! That would be so fun!!! I might even buy that myself for this idea😮
The Lisa Frank's Trapper Keeper yarn is so fun! I need to check this out and see if I can get some. I have SO many socks on the needles and planned . . . definitely more than I'll be able to finish, but the goal is to get at least 4 pair done this summer (employed full time, so I knit whenever I have a free moment). SSC has been a lot of fun for me so far! Inspiring and most certainly a nice new focus to have to take my mind off of my crazy life. ◡̈
I agree with you about the workout routine! It's very refreshing to hear someone say that out loud. I'm like you too. I do as I please everyday and I think it's perfect like that when our objective is simply to exercise. I'm tired of seeing how competitive and obsessed a lot of people are about that. We don't have to put numbers on everything and monitor our performance for everyone to know.
YES!!! I’ve had a few times in my life where I have gotten caught up in the numbers and it feeling like a competition and it leads to nothing but burn out. It’s taught me to just enjoy moving my body for a little bit every day!
The mystery machine colorway is everything! I'm obsessed! The moose and merino sets are also insane! So many creative dyers and gorgeous yarns! I'm glad shipping to me is crazy expensive or I would probably be wallet poor and yarn rich 🤣🤣🤣
I tried and I hope I got some Finnished works posted to see. Having said that, I am pleased with my work, but......seeing all the beautiful work from everyone, I am way out of my element. I can't compete with such. Beautiful work. I will continue to make a pair a month in knitting, and 2 pairs a month in crochet.❤❤❤❤
Oh so glad to see Moose and Merino yarns and those two set up close and personal! I’ve been contemplating purchasing both for DAYS. Now that I have seen them, heading there now! 😜🧶🩷
Love the moose & merino yarns! Talk about flashback! 😂 Totally think you should use the red for heels & toe on the scrappy socks! The pop of red would look so good!
Hi, Kay, the Summer Sock Camp is such great fun. The moose and merino sock sets are based on 2 of my children's favourite cartoons (in France, it was during the early 2000 on tv). I Prefer the rugrats, but the yarn based on the poweruff girls is so gorgeous 😍😍😍. If only they were sold in Europe, I would order them at once, but from US, it's not affordable as shipping costs and custom duties will be more expensive than the yarn itself. And by the way I learned the English names of the 2 cartoons (Rugrats is Rasemoquette, and Powerpuff Girls are les Supernanas in French)
This summer sock camp is such a wholesome activity! So much fun for an old grandma down in the south. I love to knit, but sweaters, hats, scarves and mittens are not needed down here. Love this!
You amaze me with your production! You have probably answered this question before, but what do you do with all of those socks? My very inexperienced suggestion fo rthe scrappy socks is to use the red as a thin stripe between each of the others. Chickens are a good starter livestock. Beware they do lead to other species! We have chickens goats and pigs currently. I love my chickens, love my goats. Pigs, meh...
I have so many plans to split cakes so I can knit 2 at a time vanilla socks! The mindless double knitting seems so perfect for the summer and enjoying the outside activities with everyone 😀 🌞
Love your video and yarns are so bright and fun!! There is not enough time to knit them but I want to! Sure makes me happy with the colors!!! Love knitting in the Summer Sock camp!!
Great Video with beautiful finished socks. Still waiting for knit picks yarn so continue my socks. I think on yoir scappy socks you should use the red for a 5 row stripe with others 10 rows. That would pop them up. And use one of the others for cuffs / heels. But after cuff do red stripe to break color and do same for heel. Did I think this threw 😂 ❤
another great video kay! i’ve been having so much fun seeing everyone’s projects for summer sock camp! still working on pair number one, but super excited for some more sock yarn to come in the mail :) hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far! it’s getting into the cooler weather now, here in australia - perfect for sock wearing 😂
Another fun episode! It's just so fun to work on all of my projects and give some of my single socks their mates. I'm trying to use up stash yarn and new yarn evenly. 😅 Happy knitting everyone! ❤
Good morning, Kay! Finally getting a chance to watch this episode. I always get so excited when I see a new episode from you! I’m working on self-striping Christmas socks!
whoa you are on a roll! You have knit so much during your movie night :) I am currently working on a pair of socks with some pattern in them but I think I will go for vanilla socks next ;)
Great post! Boom box yarn... How about using the red for cuff and toe or heal and two rows of solid between the variegated yarns if there is enough of it. Personally I like scrappy projects, but sometimes the variegated yarns run together without a solid to separate and define them.
Love your Hermoine yarn xx there is a pattern on ravelry called Hermoine socks 🥰🥰 how cute would that be Just finished your Socks for dad pattern they are so good thank you
Almost finished with my first pair of socks for SSC! I’m already trying to decide what’s next, I’ve got so much yarn to pick from! Might have one of the kids pick.
Loved the episode as always. I loved the Moose & Merino socks sets, never watched either show but love the colors! Enjoy the concert, I love new experiences as seen through the eyes of a child. 😊❤🧦🧶
I would use the red of the minis for the cuff and heels if it were my choice. :) I so love your podcasts and am in awe as to how fast you can knit. Keep Making!!!
I’m having so much fun with SSC. I have been knitting and reading so much! I just started the Skyward series by Brandon Sanderson. I love it so, so much. I am getting really into sci-fi lately. And I needed a lighter story after finishing a fantasy series where almost all of the main character died. 😅
I joined the Ravelry forum but have a very hard time figuring it out.😊. I managed to comment once and can’t figure out how in the world to comment again. I finished one pair so far.
How do you hold your needles, yarn, and stitches so you can knit and not watch your knitting. I worry about loosing stitches or messing up. Could you do a video showing how you work it. I would appreciate it. Thanks
You can see how I knit in any of my sock tutorials. I don’t change how I knit from that to knitting without looking. I’ve just been knitting for many many years and somewhere along the way it became muscle memory and I just knit away without looking.
What if you added in a small stripe of the red every few sections of the other colors? Love all the yarns!! And oh my goodness the chicken bag is amazing!!! Chickens are so fun!!!
Gorgeous yarns and socks! For the Boom Box set......what about using the red/orangey one as a two row stripe between the others? If not enough to do that, definitely heels and toes.
That Boom Box yarn 🥰🥰🥰 oh and the Power Puff Girls and Rugrats! So much goodness. When you were talking about your running I instantly thought of Forest Gump😂 Hope you have an amazing weekend with you sister and niece.
We left Omaha area 2 years ago and moved to SW Missouri. We have 2.45 acres, CHICKENS!, fruit trees, and raised bed gardens. Talk about heaven!!! Hope you get yours soonest!
That is amazing!!! 😍😍
The yarns you are showing are so pretty! And I love your finished socks.
I can’t believe you’ve Knit 37 pairs of socks this year already. So inspiring! ❤️
Right? It is crazy! And it's not even like she is only knitting socks. 😮
Oh my that Rugrats yarn is awesome! So much fun to have so many supporters of sock camp. Wonderful to bring all these small businesses to our attention.

All the yarns are beautiful! Love every one. Now I need to remember to show my finished socks! ❤❤
Wow! It always blows me away how fast you knit! I think I’m doing well to knit one sock a week! 🧶🎉
Enjoying my first SSC. I also enjoy seeing all the socks and beautiful yarns. Thx for allowing WIPs to be included. I have no more sock WIPs, just the ones I’m now starting.

Good morning!! You are really inspiring!! Your socks are always gorgeous! ❤❤
💕💕💕 so happy to offer a discount for summer sock camp! Thank you again, Kay! Such a fun event! 💕💕💖💖💖
All that wonderful yarn! It makes me ridiculously happy to see pretty yarn! Wish I could buy all of it! X
The chicken bag is my most favorite bag I’ve seen of all your bags, adorable!!!
I’m so very excited! I just ordered your heel toe do si do sock pattern! I’m always making socks thanks to you, having learned only a few years back now at the age of 70. Love all the cool yarns!!!! Those May Yarnable socks are so cute! Good stuff, always!
Gorgeous yarns! Having lots of fun knitting up socks for the SSC!
Definitely red for the heels then decide when casting on whether it is also the cuffs or toes 🙂
I think I’d use the green, blue and purple boombox minis together (shorties? - I have small feet so 60 g is enough) and then use the red solid mini with the red speckled mini (and then with some other leftovers).

I'm proud of you for driving in downtown Dayton! Driving anywhere unfamiliar or with lots of traffic gives me all the anxiety.
Always split my wool for socks and start them both within a week or so of each other. Love seeing your socks.
So happy to be participating in my first SSC! Thank you for all you do for our knitting community.
Kay your socks are amazing. You really inspire all of us. The yarn you have are really fantastic!🧶🪢❤
Love the yarnable color for Lily, and the Twinkling tree lights yarn is so vibrant❤️. All of your yarn acquisitions are wonderful.
It’s not a competition, everyone should go at their own pace and be very proud of what they accomplish ❤️
I can’t wait to see that boom box set caked up! I almost bought some and haven’t ever made scrappy socks. 🧦 this may just be my summer! 😊🎉
Oh so glad to see Moose and Merino yarns and those two set up close and personal! I’ve been contemplating purchasing both for DAYS. Now that I have seen them, heading there now! 😜🧶🩷
All these dyed yarns are so incredible!
Love the moose & merino yarns! Talk about flashback! 😂

So many pretties!
Everytime I watch it costs me money! I ordered 2 adorable bags from Barley Purls 😂.
Your bright and colorful socks make me so happy! 🤩
Me too! 🤩
Beautiful yarn. Love the pack but the yarn is ❤
This summer sock camp is such a wholesome activity! So much fun for an old grandma down in the south. I love to knit, but sweaters, hats, scarves and mittens are not needed down here. Love this!
Use the red for the toe! Such great yarn!

If they are for me, I wear them. I always say on the podcast if they are for someone else - I gift a lot of my socks.
Hi Kay! Use the red mini for a pop color with the scrappy socks on the cuff!❤🧶🧦☺️👍🏽
Love all your socks!! Have fun at the concert!! My daughter saw her last June on her 21st birthday! What fun memories you are making!!
I have so many plans to split cakes so I can knit 2 at a time vanilla socks! The mindless double knitting seems so perfect for the summer and enjoying the outside activities with everyone 😀 🌞
Yes! Couldn’t agree more!
I’m on a sock kick, too! Finishing the second sock of my first pair for SSC.
I love the colors of your socks! The ones for Lily are great. The minis in the radio box are cool.
37 pairs! My goodness! I also wanted to thank you for mentioning The Bible Recap when you did! I just started it and AM LOVING IT!!❤❤❤
I’m so happy you’re loving it!!!
Love your video and yarns are so bright and fun!! There is not enough time to knit them but I want to! Sure makes me happy with the colors!!! Love knitting in the Summer Sock camp!!
love all those socks! i have found so many amazing dyers through your videos!! today's find was tia's terrific threads.
I either work 2 in tandem or TAAT when I make socks. I have started just making either cuffs of a toes. To have on hand... It might be an issue...
Oh those 90s themed sock sets are so fun looking. Love your enthusiasm. I'm still stuck!😢
I love all the yarns!!! They are so pretty
Have two sock toes started for toe up. The yarn is a bright pink. All your pretty striped socks inspired me to use some of my brightest stripey yarn.

I am so excited it's sock camp time! I look forward to it all year! I purchased a shirt and some patterns using coupon codes in the ravelry group.
Omg the chicken bag!!! My bestie and i have matching chicken tattoos haha
Another fun episode! It's just so fun to work on all of my projects and give some of my single socks their mates. I'm trying to use up stash yarn and new yarn evenly. 😅 Happy knitting everyone! ❤
Hi Kay! The socks for your niece are pretty! Have fun at the concert and enjoy your time with your sister and niece!
Good morning, Kay! Finally getting a chance to watch this episode. I always get so excited when I see a new episode from you! I’m working on self-striping Christmas socks!
Love love both of the moose and merino yarn. Rugrats, so nostalgic
whoa you are on a roll! You have knit so much during your movie night :) I am currently working on a pair of socks with some pattern in them but I think I will go for vanilla socks next ;)

Just finished your Socks for dad pattern they are so good thank you
Pop of color at the cuff, heels and toes for the boom box socks! Love all of the colors!
Oh that Boombox Kit is SO cute!
Almost finished with my first pair of socks for SSC! I’m already trying to decide what’s next, I’ve got so much yarn to pick from! Might have one of the kids pick.
I most often do my socks at the same time but separate needles... I find it works best for me most of the time.
Loved the episode as always. I loved the Moose & Merino socks sets, never watched either show but love the colors! Enjoy the concert, I love new experiences as seen through the eyes of a child. 😊❤🧦🧶
Fun projects! I'm up to the toe on a 2nd sock while watching. Happy summer to your boys!
❤ the @yarnable color way. I am happy to see a stripe rather than another speckled yarn @yarnable subscription
Maybe for the scrappy socks 3 or so rounds of red on the cuff then us in heal. Use the red on whole or proportion of toe.
Currently working on one of my WIPs for camp! Lovely to have a video of yours to keep me company 💚
Could you make a tutorial of your cozy memories?💕
Use the red to divide each of the other colors with a row or three. More work, but you love the scrappy.
The Green of the socks you took to the pictures is SO pretty. They make me want to cast on more socks😂
I joined the Ravelry forum but have a very hard time figuring it out.😊. I managed to comment once and can’t figure out how in the world to comment again. I finished one pair so far.
Red mini, for cuff and heel. What amazingly bright colors. You are an amazing knitter-so prolific!
Wow that Boom Box🤩🤩🤩 I’d do a pop of color at the cuff and then the heel as well😊Have a great concert and happy knitting🎵💖
My comfort videos ❤
I bought her rugrats yarn set too and cannot wait to cast on!
Hi Kay, can you do a tutorial to slipping a cake yarn? Thank you! 💚
I think I show how I do it in my two at a time sock tutorial. I don’t have any plans for any more tutorials. 🧶
Love the socks. I never have knit in the cinema.
The red from the boom box I would use for the heel and toes.
What if you added in a small stripe of the red every few sections of the other colors? Love all the yarns!! And oh my goodness the chicken bag is amazing!!! Chickens are so fun!!!
I have a dream for chickens, too! ❤️ My family had them when I was a kid on our farm. My husband is not yet convinced, but it’s happening someday! 🐓
Eric’s not convinced about the chickens either.. but it’s totally happening one day. 😂🤣
Gorgeous yarns and socks! For the Boom Box set......what about using the red/orangey one as a two row stripe between the others? If not enough to do that, definitely heels and toes.
I think I would use the red for heels and toes. I also love reading the Janette Oke books.
Boom box yarn I’d use the red for heel and toe and maybe like two stripes up in the cuff
That Boom Box yarn 🥰🥰🥰 oh and the Power Puff Girls and Rugrats! So much goodness.
When you were talking about your running I instantly thought of Forest Gump😂
Hope you have an amazing weekend with you sister and niece.
🤣🤣🤣
Enjoy the concert and you get some sock knitting done. I would use the red for the cuff and toe. Have a great weekend ❤❤
Beautiful yarns, I love the 80's theme.
