This is such an amazing deck, Block Dragon is probably the best card in the box alongside Magician Navigation and Triamids. Btw, I'm glad you decided to add the chances of getting certain cards in your starting hand, that was a great idea.

Block dragon is such a useful card, I'm pretty sure it will be great in many different decks, not just in GK.
This box is one of the BEST mini boxes I've seen in a while. It has so much support for different archetypes that it actually looks like big box, wtf dudes.

It's amazing how 1 card can change entirely the gameplay of a deck or archetype.
Block drag. has really good synergy with gem-knights i also used it on my tcg gem-knight burn deck and it was top tier, even though brilliant fusion and other tech cards was nerfed it's still good and really fun to use.

I'm pretty sure Block Dragon will be useful not only in Gem Knights but in other archetypes as well. This new box came with plenty of awesome cards (and I still can't believe how Triamids are sooo good, glad it's a big brain deck; so it won't be overused lolol )
Btw, I don't see this deck being "too consistent" I don't think it needs a limit.
You are so damn right bro, Triamids are insane. It would be safe to say they are the new tier 1 deck, they are really, really good. But what I like the most about them is the fact they are not relying on a skill. They will keep being tiered for a long time.

I like the fact Gem Knight cards are in the same box as Light Sworns, I still have faith in watching this last archetype as meta in duel links. Blaze Accelerator cards are cool as well.
Blaze Accelerator is awesome, hope many of the primal burst cards come back as meta in the future, at least for a while. Just like Gem Knights today.

Old boxes often come back again and again. Gale Lizard, mirror wall, sphere kuriboh, all of those cards are a clear example of it. Sooner or later lightsworns or accelerators might come back as meta.
Pretty sure they did it because both decks are about sending cards from the deck to the graveyard, also the fact that there's actually synergy between Lightsworns and Gem Knights. Only problem right now is that Lightsworns doesn't even have about a 30% of their own archetype in Duel Links, and not even cards like Fairy Tail that work very well with them.

Correct me if im wrong, but i think that if theres 3 grasses in a 30-card deck, then probability of opening with grass(es) in either 4 or 5-card hand is calculated as: 3/30 + 2/29 + 1/28 + 0 + 0 = 2/5
Reasoning: there's no replacement (u dont put the card back into the deck) so probability shifts for both numerator and denominator as you draw grasses.
If there were Spell Specialist, it'd be: 3/12 + 2/29 + 1/28 + 0 + 0 = .35
Opening grass without spell specialist in a 30-cards deck has 35.96% chance with 4 hand-size and 43.35% with 5 hand-size (www.yugioh.party/). You're only calculating the chance for the first three cards to be grass. There are more scenarios where the grass could be your fourth or fifth card. That 2/5 is the chance for 1 of 5 scenarios to happen, which are: 1st card grass, 2nd card grass, 3rd card grass, 4th card not grass, or 5th card not grass. To properly calculate it, you need to calculate the combinations (not permutations as the hand order doesn't matter) of all the possible hands that contain grass. The final answer should be something like (chance of getting 1 grass) + (chance of getting 2 grass) + (chance of getting 3 grass).
For example, the chance of getting one grass in your hand for a 4 cards hand in a 30 cards deck should be (number of ways of having one grass)/(numbers of ways to select 4 cards from the deck). So something like (4/(30C4)), or (4/c(30,4)) if you prefer. After that, you still need to calculate the same thing for the scenarios of getting 2 grasses and 3 grasses and add them all up. Only then will you get that 35.96% chance from the Probability Calculator website. If you already understand how to calculate it, it will be faster to just use the site. I hope that this explanation is helpful :)
By the way, spell specialist gives you a 100% chance for your 1st card to be a spell and 50% chance for your 2nd card to be a spell. Calculating this is far more complicated if you do it manually, so it would be faster to use the yugioh.party site. You can use deck size 12 and wanting at least 1 out of 3 grass to calculate the chance of your first card being grass from Spell Specialist. The second card would be the chance of getting 1 out of 2 or 3 grass (calculate both scenarios where the first card a grass and when it's not and add them up) is from spell specialist's successful second card activation added by the chance of normally getting a grass from spell specialist's failed second card activation (as it is 50-50). The third and fourth cards will just be combinatory logic, but it's still quite troublesome to calculate, since you have to calculate all the possible scenarios.
In short, dkayed's 51% with specialist and 58% with restart should be accurate enough. After all, he uses the yugioh.party site, and he also did a similar calculation of opening up Hanzo with the My Monster Cards skill using the site, showing how he calculated it, and he did it correctly.
I have a question. Would having a Junkuriboh in the first 4 cards you draw protect you from effect damage? Can I use Junkuriboh on turn one to protect me from one effect damage?

Gem-knight Lapis is now limited to one in a deck, but you can use gem knight lolite to banish a gem monster to put it inside your extra deck resummon it, and reuse the effect with gem knight master diamond.

Surprisingly I’ve only encountered this once in legend ranked. Thankfully I went first, bricked minus a treacherous. Stopped them at a crucial point and then OTK on my next turn with red eyes.
What the hell, this is madness! First turn kill... well, can't say I'm bothered, this playing style might be fun at least for some weeks. FTK has been absent in the game maybe for almost 1 year. It doesn't look too consistent. It's pretty ok for me. Nothing broken here, I'd have to encounter more than 6 gem knights out of 10 to believe this deck is "a problem."
They were consistent enough to get 2-3 KoGs a month listed
I'm sure someone has already said this but you can still FTK with one master diamond using defusion and/or fusion reserve. Also have to play an extra Zirconia. It's way less consistent and way more expensive buy it's still an alternative way to play this if you don't have the 2nd Master Diamond.
Edit: My bad. I meant fusion substitute not reserve.
Also, it requires more cards. This version requires only opening with 1 card on starting hand, which is Grass, that is why it is more consistent. Adding 1 more card to the combo, and the FTK will no longer be consistent.
I used Magnet Release but De-Fusion is definitely a good alternative card
@@McBobX Read Fusion reserves effect. I'm not going to type a essay for you. There's a couple of ways to go about the FTK you can't do in the tcg because grass is banned.
@@skeithdgx9851 Who needs an essay? 1st, Fusion Reserve is a trap, so it is no longer an FTK and may be impossible. 2nd, De-Fusion surely a great card that can even ensure FTKing if you open with it but as I said, the consistency of the combo will be hurt so much. If you open with Grass and not De-Fusion, you may mill De-Fusion instead of monsters, thus the whole combo may go in vain.
In TCG, Grass can mill up to 15 cards (or more if going second), which is extremly powerful considering how GY is important in TCG comparing to DL, and that is why it is banned.

Gem knight ftk exists even with 1 mazter diamond and the tcg has 8000 lp
They recently limited brilliant fusion to one because you use it to get gem knight seraphinite to get urself an extra normal summon to get more Link material and build a bigger board.

The FTK had to be hit in the TCG, and from what I’ve seen, this version looks similar. Plus, 4000 LP makes killing even easier
One thing that needs to be said is that if you go first against this gem deck, and you're playing Aroma synchro, you basically win every time. Gem FTK has no idea what to do against LP gain if it goes second.
So im guessing all those arkana darkworld FTK decks on youtube are just non-consistent enough, right?

I had this problem before I got my second one for a while, you can't FTK but you can get them low enough to do it on the next turn. But it's a big risk to let a turn go through and it's much better with the second
If you have De Fusion, yes. Because then you can resummon your 1 Master Diamond. But De Fusion is also a UR so unless you already have 2-3 you'd be better off trying to get a second Master Diamond from the box.

haha I'm one of those who think you need to play the deck you enjoy playing, I think the 99% of players should do it. It's more relaxing that way. So I'd suggest any box to any player lol, as long as it's the deck you want to play. :-)
Having many decks should be only advisable if you are a collector or someone who has a GOAL in your mind, like reaching top 1 - 3 at Big and official tournaments. At least that's what I think.
Out of Bounds word. I’ve invested in the one with six sams shien and kizan just cause of tcg nostalgia lol. Got bored and went to noble knights. Now I’m getting bored again and might go with this just because there’s like 3 decks to make with this. I go back and forth between six Sam and noble knights and find myself having fun with those just because I don’t stick to one and adding 3 more decks might give this game more longevity for me

J Quillbolt when did I say that it was overused or anything that you just said? If you look into gem knights competitive history it always topped as an FTK build and every single time it was centered around reusing and abusing Lapis Lazuli’s burn effect. It was never used in an different way. The TCG has now ways to deal with that due to the abundance of hand traps that can dampen the consistency required to pull the combo off, but it was still so strong that they had to limit master diamond in the TCG. Gem Knights were introduced into duel links long after these FTK strategies were discovered. Meaning that Konami had to know about how dangerous the introduction of Lapis Lazuli would be. Which leads me to question their decision to implement it. It wouldn’t be the first time they didn’t add a card from an archetype because it had to much power. Trishula from ice barriers or the higher level Gishki ritual cards would be a great example of that.
If you don’t understand that it’s clear that you either know nothing about this decks competitive history or about game balance. So stop acting like a victim and learn to read.
Mitchell Pennisi I love talking and thinking about game balance but I hate it if someone makes non arguments and then call the other guy names. It no one no where and just shows immaturity. Also I especially hate the “it isn’t overused so it’s ok” excuse that many players like to throw around. Just because it isn’t played so much doesn’t make it fair. A lot of times the mere existence of a card hinders game and card design. Take snake rain as an example, that card has so much power on its own that it stops Konami from making any good reptile cards.

If you add the chances with their draw and yours then your chances are way better if especially this deck becomes a problem & meta and running 3 copies doesn't hurt you anymore since stopping gem Knight once is basically free win.

This is a nightmare made deck, take a hell lot of time to make the play and makes you a FTK leaving 3 monsters on field just in case. Dear god have mercy of us.

That's not the worst, try FTK with cards that can bypass and attack directly and amplifly dmg each time they deal direct dmg, and the new fusion from the new pack that lets you attack 3 times, now that is broken.

@@Xzis87 makes money, it's a business after all. Every meta deck lasts for a few months before they power creep them by bringing in new boxes to repeat the cycle
If only the events were somewhat fun,but they aren't,at least for me that is. Laughable rewards,too - 200 gems for farming for hours on end. Sucks about KoG. I was lucky to start the game rather soon,so i managed it almost every season. Though it's just a hassle now and too stressful and also super random on top.
I'm mostly just sad that they've learned nothing from the TCG. This isn't the right way to make money and it shits on the playerbase. Guess as long as there're ppl dumb enough to support this they'll keep this up
Konami has been crushing FTKs really quickly in the TCG and OCG over the course of 2019. They will deal with this if it actually is a problem. 1 copy of Skull Meister probably kills this deck (Konami really need to add D.D. Crow and Effect Veiler to DL to help deal with decks like this.)
Have faith. After 2018 they deal with FTKs a lot more quickly.

They’re main box monsters, it’s a lot of investment going in to get enough copies of the fusion UR’s. There biggest weakness is when 30 decks, skull meister, and anti fusion cards becomes more staple lol.
