Nevertheless , I was amazed at what you are saying here and even more so by how you say it. We have never met yet we know each other: I walked the “mat” the way you played this instrument. This is early, but I can confirm that for many years Jay has played a Keilwerth SX90 with a Selmer C* mpc. The mic looks like a fairly basic dynamic, which is what he was using when I recently saw Spyro Gyra.
I wouldn’t judge the tone here. I recently heard Spyro Gyra live, and his soprano tone is magnificent. Like you, I generally do prefer alto, and Jay on it, but again, his soprano tone moved me so deeply that I had to buy one after playing tenor and alto for 50 years!

Nice song but the soprano tone is so thin, sounds like an oboe 😕👎 prefer Jay Bechenstein on Alto sax.
