The Outback has always been my favorite kayak. Moving up to the PA12 was a mistake for a short dude like myself. The one thing I wish Hobie would add is just put H-rails on both sides already as standard equipment.
I have the yellow Compass. I want my kayak to be highly visible to other boaters and any potential rescuers. I love the new orange color. I prefer the Outback, but went with the Compass due to its lighter weight. I wish the Outback could lose some weight. I just don't know about getting it onto my truck rack by myself (old man problem).
I think orange has been around a long, long time! I think hobie has great colors especially their camouflage on the outback! I love the compass too in camouflage !
I'm gonna bite the bullet and take my chances trying to sneak this past the wife, lol. Love the color, and seeing this walkthrough finishes off any hesitation. I had a Hobie in Hawaii and loved it, moved back to the mainland and got an OT 120 PDL. The OT is great, but I miss fin drive and I think the Outback will be way better to target kings and Spanish off the beach. Totally ready. Thanks for the video!
looking to get one of these for bass fishing. how easy is it to stand and cast on the outback? mostly going to use it on small calm water with relatively little current.

Definitely go with amped outdoors lithium batteries! Use Alex's code save some coin, it saved me some! I got amped 32ah 14.8 v lithium battery. It's same size as a standard SLA marine 15ah 12v. But weighs less than 4lbs instead of 10lbs like the SLA! I'm running a 10" Garmin ultra, the steady cast heading sensor & lvs34 system on just that one battery. I can fish for 12+ hrs a day & battery still have juice to keep going. I love Hobbies & I'm on my second PA12, now the 360. I also like the outback too. I'm not sure how I feel about the orange. Other than that it's awesome

Concerning the color orange isn't one my choice colors to begin with, it's better than yellow like my first pro angler. #1 is a Hobie so it's gonna be awesome anyway, in person probably does look better. I prefer green camo, try stay natural colors for fishing & stealth

Nothing is new, everything remains the same, the worst thing about this kayak that hasn't changed is the low keel through which a lot of water penetrates and splashes on the paddler in the sea with very low waves and it is really unstable like the Prongler, I had an Outback and changed to a Prongler 12 which is really a different world in terms of stability And the keel is high and you come back dry, it is shorter but wider and you have a lot of space around you, if anything, then Proangler is much more recommended
dude... its ember camo...pump the brakes on how BEAUTIFULL it is. Tell me again how stable it is when youre on the river at night fighting a fish and the rudder kickes fully over and you get ejected... Cumon you gotta be true and believable. Hobie isnt gonna send you a free kayak because you say nice things about their new Ember Camo color
I always speak my mind buddy, check the stability test of this boat you probably seen it before, Hobie is never going to send me a boat for review unless you sign your soul to them and i will never do that, the color is amazing! And do love this outback
I use to fond of these styles of boats. I just find that these boats are uncomfortable to fish out of being so low to the water. Have to hold rod way above your head to land a fish. Also I live in Louisiana where the gators 🐊 are huge and aggressive. They can easily flip this type of vessel. I think the best option is the twin troller from Freedom electric. Easy to fish out of . It doesn’t sit low to the water and unsinkable, no worry for a gator to flip it or stabilized perfect if you stand up. Then hands free with no pedaling at all
I just got to say , there is like 20 other vendors who have done this exact color for years. Not like Hobie has come out with something revolutionary. So to say you have never seen this color , I find that very hard to believe. Now if you said I have never seen this color in a Hobie product , then you would be correct. You would think that Hobie by now , would have ditched the PUKE green , and the BLAND yellow. The only saving grace they have at this point is the Blue , which is only just OK. The sand color is horrible as well. There are other vendors doing a lot of variety of colors. Purples , Pinks , Red ( Which Hobie has done limited of ) , Teals , Combo colors of all kinds and Hobie only does like 4 colors max , most of which are just really dull. Fish do not care what color your kayak is , but someone plunking down 3 to 6 grand on a kayak might.............

Those rod holders not being molded in, when they hold water during a freeze won't risking busting your hull permanently. Smart move on hobie's part.
