  • Key differences between ducks, swans, and geese:
Size: Swans are generally the largest of the three, followed by geese, and then ducks. Swans can be very large birds, while ducks tend to be smaller in size.
Plumage Coloration: Ducks come in a wide variety of colors and patterns. They often have vibrant and diverse plumage, with males often exhibiting more elaborate colors during breeding season. Swans typically have mostly white plumage, although some species have additional coloration on their heads or wings. Geese usually have a combination of gray or brown feathers, often with distinctive markings on their heads or necks.
Neck Length: Swans are known for their long, elegant necks, which they can gracefully curve and extend. Geese have medium-length necks that are not as long as swans. Ducks have relatively shorter necks compared to swans and geese.
Bill Shape: Ducks have a wide, flat, and rounded bill. Swans have long and slender bills, often with a distinctive knob or knob-like structure at the base. Geese have broad and rounded bills, often with serrated edges.
Behavior: Ducks are known for their ability to dabble or dive for food, using their bills to search for aquatic plants, insects, and small aquatic creatures. Swans are primarily herbivorous and often graze on aquatic vegetation. Geese are also primarily herbivorous and feed on a variety of grasses and plants, both on land and in water.
Vocalizations: Ducks are known for their quacking sounds, although different species may have different types of calls. Swans are known for their honking or trumpet-like calls. Geese produce loud honking sounds or hissing sounds when they feel threatened or alarmed.
Habitat: Ducks, swans, and geese can be found in a variety of habitats. Ducks are often associated with freshwater habitats such as ponds, lakes, and rivers, but some species can also be found in coastal areas. Swans are commonly found in lakes, rivers, and coastal areas. Geese can be found in a range of habitats, including freshwater lakes, rivers, coastal areas, and even grassy fields and farmlands.
These are some general differences between ducks, swans, and geese. However, it's important to note that there are different species within each group, and variations in size, plumage, and behavior can exist within those species.

Swans often dive for food too. Especially ones like trumpeter swans. A video on those would be neat!

Actually, geese dive for food too. I literally watch 20 of them do it daily in my pond.

Thanks . Actually animal research is never complete. So facts differ sometimes.

@@danamgarrett Facts stays same but the implementation can be different. Like if you watch longer videos you will find I have tried to remove the confusion between similar looking animals.
