I had one of these snozzle bags and found it a pain in the ass to use. The idea is not to introduce moisture into the inside of the mat so blowing into it is counter productive. I got one of the hand pumps instead. Takes some time but works well. They do sell an electric pump now too which is probably better is weight isn’t an issue.

Most mats these days can handle abit of breath moisture - the technology of the foam means minor moisture wont cause issues.
The widget pump is definitely more convinient

This mat is insane! It has nearly the same packing size like my old Therm-A-Rest (self inflating) but is more than 4 times thicker is much wider has better R value and weights "just" a pound more. I must have one of those for my next bike tour in spring because I'm getting older and can't sleep on those thin stuff anymore my back + bones won't tollerate it longer.

I have a 10 year old Exped which I swear by. The inbuilt pumping system is a bit difficult. However, yesterday I found that with my DeWalt 18v air blower (which I use for stoking the campfire, and cleaning up the campsite) I can inflate it in under one minute. You can thank me later.

Haha, good advice thanks, Tim, just make sure you don't overinflate it. ~ Ben

@@SnowysOutdoors If I over inflate it, I will have to come to Snowys for a new one. You win. Really enjoy your content Ben. Thanks.

Or just buy the Exped USB pump. Works a treat.

I think another advantage of these is the storage size. The self inflating mats dont like to folded rolled up where as this can be stored in its bag. Then i can store it inside a plastic tub protected from my cat.

@@user-dh4oy1id4i I'd probably recommend the Megamat 10LXW as a good all-rounder. Having the foam filled mat means it will be a little bulkier and heavier but at least if you happen to get a puncture in the mat you still have some foam to sleep on. If you are willing to do some repairs then the 12Lite will be easier to lug around, but I'm mindful of your position and ability to make repairs when you might be relying on it every night, not to mention the cost of supplies to do the repair.
The Max 15 is probably overkill for your purposes. ~ Ben
