I think if I recall in the email, you said no other explanation “at this time”, so, I was assuming you would eventually tell us what good you did with the money. But, it’s not in my heart to be argumentative with you, so I won’t mention it anymore. There are other viewers who feel the same. No hard feelings, I’m a giver not a taker.

So I planted some elderberry bushes, 2 to be exact, 2 years ago. Last fall I harvested about a dozen half pint jars of elderberry syrup. So so delicious and very healthy. This February my husband cut them back pretty severely. I was nervous they would die. OH MY GOSH!!!!! They are now almost 8 feet tall!!! I will need a ladder to harvest the berries in the fall. The smell from the blooming flowers is intoxicating. I just love them Thanks for the nudge in this endeavor! Have all your books and have made many recipes including my own ACV, sauerkraut, tomato sauce, toothpaste, just to name a few. Love your candles too! @@maryhawken817 I think someone Doug and Stacy know was selling some at one point, Stark nurseries also sells them, and you can find them listed on Etsy. There are different varieties. Some need a buddy for pollination.
Add an electroculture rod and they'll produce even more! I picked 6 gallons off of mine last year.
I have wild elderberries that grow on our 45 acres but the birds and critters always get them before we can. Most gone before there ripe.
It’s not easy living off grid. Acclimating your body to harsh conditions is definitely a first step.
My dad always worked building damns and marinas and when he worked, not every crane or piece of equipment had air. So it was hot and miserable. He always wore white western shirts and cotton t shirts white socks in real leather cowboy boots. His buddies called him Hollywood because if his white shirts and sun glasses but he wore them because they were cool. My mom kept them pristine white too.

I stay in my white Tshirts when I'm at home. They're so comfortable and cool!
Same reason they wear white in the deserts..my daddy was a real cowboy too❤️
When I was a kid we lived on a ranch an hours drive from Folsom CA. We had extremely hot summer nights when we came down from the open range in the mountains to return to school (it was so much nicer in the mountains).... mum n dad would put the parachute quilt mom had made from parachutes daddy had found buried in the forest. We would all sleep on the front lawn with a lot of our lighter quilts to cover us up in the early morning hours ... all six of us would sleep together outside where we could breathe & be more comfortable ... we were safe cuz daddy was our champion, our protector ... I miss daddy 🥹 he's the best 😇 those were the best nights sleeping under the stars 🥰
Dry heat is way easier to take
Sort of. Its super dry here just west of Vegas.
That's right!
I live in TN. The humidity at 8am was at 85%. No chance of rain, no wind. Just stagnant, moist air that almost chokes you to death while being outside. The humidity is way worse...and makes the heat so much worse
Since 1991 hubby and i been off grid and 2 years ago we got our first phone and our first battery operated fan,, fathers day we bought 2 solar powered fans,,we're in our 70s and the heat,,is starting to effect us,,we stay hydrated and dress loosly,,but we got this. .
Living off grid does not mean you have to live miserable. You can still have electric and ac, I'd get a system that will run your entire house, electric, especially lights, refrigeration, heat and ac. They do have electric access ran on the highway where they live. There's absolutely nothing wrong with having ac/lights/refrigeration and heat. Like I said, living off grid does not mean you cannot have electric. That's utter nonsense.
Going underground is a great way to beat heat.
Not a problem in England. Dig a hole, and you stand a good chance of drowning. Take care folks.

YES, have a house with a good basement! :)
Can you take the cool air from the basement and cycle it up to main area of house?
Air conditioning has absolutely spoiled me. I grew up without ac.
I had horrible hay fever as a child, and we did not have air conditioning. It was such a blessing to be able to go places where there was air conditioning and to be able to breathe more freely for a few minutes or however long I was there, and to get some relief for my eyes. I remember waking up one time as a child, and I had so much drainage from eyes that had dried and crusted over while I was asleep that I couldn't open my eyes when I woke up. They were glued shut, and I panicked. Summers were all about heat rash and misery for me except for the respite that came from getting to go swimming or spend some time in air conditioned spaces. I had chicken pox during the summer too. Absolute agony! I was begging my parents to tske me to the doctor. I was even willing to face the long needle in the butt that usually accompanied a doctor's visit, but there was nothing to be done but to ride it out. When one of our neighbors moved in, she thought my parents beat me because my eyes were so swollen and red from allergies. Summers were not fun for me. Air conditioning made life better.
I love using 91% - 99% rubbing alcohol. It's especially great for cleaning the freezer and the fridge. The freezer, if something sticky is in there, spray it on and come back in 20 - 30 minutes and wipe clean. It doesn't freeze. 👍
We use the 91% rubbing alcohol for homemade wipes. You can use paper towels cut in half or reusable cotton fabrics (best is recycled t-shirt squares). I put the wipes in plastic containers and keep in cars (alcohol won't freeze in winter). I also keep a ziploc bag of these wipes in my purse. Any time we go to a store, we use wipes when we get in our car.

I remember my high school chemistry teacher drilling it into us to never drink ice water, especially in the summer. Eph. 2:8-9 (saved by GRACE only. By Grace, through faith, in Christ alone.)
You can join ANY religion but you can’t join Christianity. “Salvation is of the Lord.” It’s a miracle only God can make happen.
All religions are works righteousness except Christianity. Justification is a free gift given only to those that allow their conscience feel Godly sorrow over transgression of the Ten Commandments, turn from the sin (repent) already on your record, and turn in trust to Christ as Lord over you. As serious you are with God about your contriteness is how serious He’ll be w/ you. In a moment in time, He will indwell you with the Holy Spirit and you will now know Jesus. This is the necessary born-again status to be justified in Christ. After that, Jesus will reveal himself as your Lord and the miracle of that new birth is a new heart w/ new desires. Merely head knowledge will result in you hearing those horrendous words, “Depart from me; I never knew you.”

@@artandrea5348 I used to work in the yard all summer, no matter the weather, and me and my water hose were best buds. I stayed WET all summer. It works great. Lol
In the early 2000's we had a major storm that knocked out our electricity for 4.5 days in the 100 plus days. Luckly, I had a gas hotwater heater for warming the water for showers. Basically, I stayed outside on the deck in the shade with my garden hose. I tinkered around the yard and made it through just fine. I did sleep in the house at night which wasn't bad because i kept the house shut during the day. I was prepared to put my tent up if needed. It was quite an experience since I was single and my kids were all grown and out of the house. Having been a family of campers, the knowlwdge really helped.
Another way to get your water hot is to set jugs in the sun or a camp stove. Outdoor camp showers are great. The water bladder heats up in the sunshine.

Using my stream to keep food cool was the first refrigeration I had when I moved to the mountains. Worked excellent. We had our power go out in the summer in AZ. My mother taught me to wet sheets and hang them up around the open windows and doors. If y'all have mesquite trees or shad trees you can spray them with water and it makes a natural EVAP cooler for the animals.
How do you spray trees without power? Seems like water may be needed for other things. If you have an electric pump like I do.
I heard if you hang some of those brown paper lantern globes wasps and other bee type critters will stay away from your property. They somehow don't like trespassing on another "nest"
This definitely works. I used them on my front porch and in a storage room that had very tiny entry points that wasps would enter. Every summer we would have wasps near our front door on our covered porch. I filled two brown paper lunch bags with crumpled newspapers, tied the ends and put them up with thumbtacks on my porch and in my storage room. We have not had a single wasp in either area since.
They think it's a hornet's nest. I had read that too.

I have a large number of giant castor bean trees on the southern side of my house. They effectively lower the indoor temperature by approximately 10 degrees. Although they perish during cold weather, their removal is relatively simple. Fortunately, new ones emerge the following summer.
Do deer eat them? It would appear it would kill them. Hvac guys are always in the heat. It isn't working until 10 minutes before they leave.
My goats and grandchildren have been around the castor oil plant for many years and have never been harmed by it. The ricin is contained within the hard seed of the plant, and cows cannot digest the seed even with their four-chambered stomachs. The castor oil plant is indeed a beautiful tree.
That's great to know 😊. T y
Deer consumption of these plants has not been observed during the 15 years of my experience.

They've already drank too much of the kool-aide, been out under too many chemicals trails. Invested too many numbered colors and ingredients the average person can't pronounce. Let them be. Stay away.
Because they loved not the truth God gave them over to deception.
It's a conspiracy alright,...it's a conspiracy against us !!!!!
My friend gave me some peppermint leaves. I made a tea concentrate using monk fruit out of the leaves and stems. I put about 1 - 2 TBSP of concentrate to 8-12 oz of water. It’s very refreshing.
Thank you guys for all you do! ❤
We only use Redmonds Real Salt thanks to ya'll Doug & Stacy 🥰🥰
Thanks for all you guys do.
It was 98 degrees here today
I did not turn on the air. I have a solar fan keeping me comfortable
I will be up at 5 am tomorrow to work in the garden before it gets hot.
@greatlakescanary3237. Oh please, I would really appreciate the brand & model of the solar fan you are using and are pleased with.
Where did you find a solar fan? Brand? ❤thanks
Here in northeastern Washington (just east of the Cascades at 4500 feet elevation) we’ve had snow, hail. And very cool weather. Enjoying it now. Mega hot and dry is coming.
I can't use air conditioning due to arthritis. I become twisted like a pretzel. I live on a hill and have a constant breeze. Was 92 degrees with 76% humidity 😳 today. Pollen level very high.
Hi Doug a and Stacy back when I was cleaning houses I got so hot and I drank some Ice water then I started getting chest pain I ended in the Hospital for two days so please if you get very thirsty sip the water don't gulp it love you guys have a blessed night
I started carrying hod very young and we learned quickly sticking your arms in a barrel or bucket of water is always the fastest way to avoid getting too hot or heatstroke. And nixing mud there is always water on the jobsite.
I can deal with a lot ive always had a out side job all my life but when i get home im not gonna burn up im gonna have air-conditioning
I've started planting a lot of fruit and food trees covering all the open sun spaces. Even intentionally around the soil gardens to protect plants. They are going to cook us out. The chems seem to be creating a solar cooker effect.
I just wear a skirt its great , light cotton 😊
Good to see you all 😊
Dip the elder flowers in a thin Dou and bake them in healthy oil. It is
delicious. Make elderberrie drink. In German it it Hollar saft. Taist like lietsjies.
Grew up with zero air conditioning. Survived 2016 heat record here in Ohio at 104F heat index without air. Lying in bed you can feel your body cooling itself as you sweat...it was a little rough but made it through okay and it lasted about 5 day's heatwave.
1973!! Ohio... we showered 2-3 times a night just to keep cooler
I have a bank of 5 big windows facing west to the beautiful out back of my acreage. The sun? Oh boy. I attached a 16ft pole up under the eaves and hang a black thick mesh net material all across it. I can still see out but it diffuses the sun/heat.
I hear northern Michigan is great..in the summer at least more people have a second home there than anywhere else beside fla,
Thank you both! Appreciate you.
I really like AC, more than anything I like 60% humidity or less.
Dr. Bonner's peppermint Castle soap...the liquid one is the best in the shower... totally cools you off...just be careful of to much around the bathing suit areas.......
Old worn out tee shirts r lighter than brand new (& nice looking) tee shirts
X I noticed that too when the sky is sprayed heavily My phone Goes in and out.No phone calls yesterday especially the TV Too you're right The sky's been turning pink lately after the cloud Seeding.
Amen. Speaking truth.
Just recently picked up a battery powered misting fan and it's great while sitting on the porch and if my power goes out when it's hot in central Texas I plan on a tent and the fan.But we also live on the main power grid of the hydro power plant that's about a mile from my house.
I'm excited to check out the copper mug.... I'm def gonna get one.
It’s not good for hot drinks.
Love you guys a lot!! Thank you.
“That is why we are in big trouble “

We never had a/c in school, stores, church, or cars until I was into my 20s at least.
