I appreciate so much you taking your time to do these videos. I know it's a lot of work to get it together. I just love looking at all your patterns and marvel how you can stitch anything you want. I'm limited because of my eyesight, but I still find plenty to stitch. I wear ear buds and the phone did not shock me at all, did not bother my ears. We all have to just roll with the ups and downs in life, nothing is ever perfect. I wish you a happy time of stitching until it's time to come back again. I will see you then!!!!

Hi Heidi, I found an “Instant Antique Spray” that the Fat Quarter Shop and Farm Girl Dry Goods sells. I think I am going to order some and try and antique a piece that I am stitching. I will, of course, try it on a scrap piece of fabric first to see how it looks. I think you would have less of a chance of floss colors bleeding since I don’t think the spray gets it too wet. Let us know what you decide and how it turns out! Happy stitching and I love your Flosstubes.
I have Coffee Tea dyed after stitching. It was all fine. You need to see if any of the threads run. Ask around about that. I have heard that some over dyed threads can run but don’t recall which ones. Great video!!

Wonderful video! I think it is great that you are doing so many of your samplers, especially the reproduction samplers,in silk floss. My philosophy is that it honors the original makers whose work is classic and timeless. Silk will preserve their ideas and designs for another 100 ( or more) years. Silk is stronger than cotton and will have a longer life. Thank you for sharing. I will be watching this video one or more times. Excellent!😊

I am stitching red house sampler from Brenda Keyes too. Just started top two rows. I don’t think coffee or tea dying would ruin it. Just a quick dunk or try spray bottle….just a thought.
Hey Heidi! Wanted to say that I have tea/coffee dyed a project after stitching. The fabric will look great but beware of what it does to the floss color. The white will turn light brown/ecru, yellow will look browner, and all of the other colors will be muted, may have a brown tint. It will change the look of the project. I did regret doing it because it ruined the white and yellow stitches mostly. Hope this helps.

As far as tea or coffee dye your finishes project. There is a spray that “antiques” fabric . If you are careful you could sort of paint it on carefully avoiding the stitches.
Such a wonderful video! For the red house sampler I think there’s a spray that you can use walnut crystals I have seen Kristie at Daisy Kays Primitives use it. I would not coffee tea dye the whole thing. You could put some stitches with the same floss and scrap piece of fabric and try it before doing anything to your beautiful stitching. I think the piece is beautiful as is, but I understand. May I ask where you purchased the mother of pearl hoops you used for floss drops? And thank you so much for your kind comment 🥰 Honestly I buy the cheapest once from Amazon, the only drawback is you have to peel off the clear plastics from each drop both sides, but I get more for less. Etsy floss drops clear plastics are peeled off and they offer different shapes. So it depends price, convenience or verity what is better suited for you 😊
Please don’t coffee or tea dye your Brenda Keyes sampler after you stitched it Heidi. I once did this and I regretted it immediately. I stitched Sarah Stewart Hardman on light linen and after I finished it I thought that it looked so “ light” and I dipped it, very short in coffee.😢😢 The whole sampler was ruined. The white sheep, which I all stitched over one, were almost disappeared in the grass and the whole sampler looked “dull”. Kind regards, Walda van Rij

Hello Vicki! Thank you so much for your kind message 😊 I have purchased regular colors directly from the online store and they are little more affordable then if you get them US sellers. I do love my Cohana scissors specifically how light they are and the blades are super sharp yet the tip is worked such a way that if you accidentally drop on your stitching it will not pierce through. I thought it was worth to have on or two just to experience how they feel. But for most of my projects I use regular needlework scissors and as long as I don’t cut anything else but floss they serve me good 😊

Please don’t coffee or tea dye your Brenda Keyes sampler after you stitched it Heidi. I once did this and I regretted it immediately. I stitched Sarah Stewart Hardman on light linen and after I finished it I thought that it looked so “ light” and I dipped it, very short in coffee.😢😢
The whole sampler was ruined. The white sheep, which I all stitched over one, were almost disappeared in the grass and the whole sampler looked “dull”.

Hello Vicki! Thank you so much for your kind message 😊 I have purchased regular colors directly from the online store and they are little more affordable then if you get them US sellers. I do love my Cohana scissors specifically how light they are and the blades are super sharp yet the tip is worked such a way that if you accidentally drop on your stitching it will not pierce through. I thought it was worth to have on or two just to experience how they feel. But for most of my projects I use regular needlework scissors and as long as I don’t cut anything else but floss they serve me good 😊
