Dude you are the man. I was installing my interior and started gauges first. Everything was working before I started then it stopped. This video came out the next day and that extra ground fixed everything. You are the best. Keep it up!

Some good stuff there. You can drop the column and get the speedo / tach installed whilst still in their fascia. It's a squeeze, the hard part is getting underneath and getting the bulbs back in place. The drives for the tach and speedo are simple clips. If you can be agile there is a lot less to reconnect

Kudos to you for working in there without removing the seats. Honestly I don't know how you did it. I always appreciate the effort and I always learn something new. I cannot imagine doing this job without the gauges and vents pre installed in the dash pad. Dropping the column is just a matter of a few bolts. Doing this will save a lot of work, trouble, and the possibility of damaging something.

Good job filling in the hole in the T-Top with a dome lamp. There was not one there originally, but it makes a lot of difference. My dash is still apart. I replaced the heater core, then serviced the clock and oil pressure gauge, as you did. My gauge repair did not go so well. I'll probably post a video of it soon. I watched this video to help keep me fresh for when I do reassemble the dash. I did not have to mess with the left side, thank goodness.

My gauge bezel was also broken on one side. I took my drumel and ground a groove on the side that doesn't show....then I laid a small Finnish nail in the groove and laid epoxy on it. Let it cure and remove a little epoxy with the drumel to clean it up.....so far has worked great.

awesome video. Tom I had my complete interior, except for the drivers side dash, out of the car a few months ago. When you removed the entire dash and console on that earlier video I said to myself he will never get it back together. You proved me wrong my friend. I felt your pain when re-assembling the dash. But you got it and I’m sure your videos will help others when tackling the same project. But can you imagine working on the assembly line back in the day and installing dash and interiors all day. That would not be an ideal job.

Buddy thanks for your efforts! Whilst replacing the wiper vacuum switch I happened to notice a loose ground wire hanging down. I couldn’t tell if it was attached to the metal piece that holds the override switch. After watching your video I can see that no ground wire originally connects there so at least I know where it doesn’t go!
It doesn’t look like a stock factory fitting so I am guessing a previous owner either disconnected it from somewhere else and neglected to re attach it, or who knows? I’ll get my little snake camera up there and try to trace it to its origin.
Again thanks, ignore them nitpickers in the comments, I’m 72 years old working on my car, if they can’t figure out where a couple screws go maybe they should take up a different hobby,,,,

What I don't get is why anyone would do all OF THIS, and not clean up each and every part first. This guy simply reassembled a trashed car and get everything working. OK there is two reasons. Number one, a car that shows its age and is 100% mechanically sound is a beautiful thing.
Secondly, time consumption, I got this car back on the road in under one year after sitting for 22 years.
The car looks beautiful and original and it shows its age beautifully and can be driven problem free every day. Hopefully that answers your question, thanks for watching
