Growing up in the 50's and being programed into the American "Davy Crocket" being a hero wearing a "coon skin cap" and killing him a bear when he was only 3 ? Just shows the insanity of that era!
I think that there is some of that insanity left with the love of hunting by some of the population. I simply cannot understand why parents take their young and older children hunting, teaching them that it is alright to kill. It is no wonder that there is so much gun crime in the USA.
