- Here I am walking in Münster, Germany, through the city center with its many Christmas Markets and stunning Cathedral on a rainy December night in 2021. Our tour goes from the Aegidiimarkt to the Prinzipalmarkt and ends at the Liebrauen Überwasser Church. Along the way you will see all relevant Christmas markets. Enjoy spectacular decorations and Christmas lights in the city during this walk, with many handmade goods & delicious foods to be found everywhere. With 300 fairytale stalls, spread over 5 large Christmas markets this yearly event in Münster is a must visit. The largest and oldest market takes place around the town hall. In the courtyard you will not only find a large selection of jewellery and art accessories, but also two merry-go-rounds for children and many different snacks for young and old. Münster is an independent city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is in the northern part of the state and is considered to be the cultural centre of the Westphalia region. It is also capital of the local government region Münsterland. Münster was the location of the Anabaptist rebellion during the Protestant Reformation. Today it is known as the bicycle capital of Germany. Enjoy this 4 HDR video walk recorded with binaural audio. As a child I always found it strange that there is no Christmas market at all on Christmas Eve and Christmas Days, I always thought as a child, that on Christmas Eve and Christmas days the Christmas market is at its fullest.

@@JapanPotato The castle is not that far away from the inner city or the Aasee. I would recommend it in the summer, as you can also visit the Botanical Garden behind the castle for free. It´s also not that far away from the "Überwasserkirche".

I see few people, otherwise the beautiful shots would not have been possible. I remember earlier years, there was a crowd that you could hardly get through and see the stalls. Ok, it's raining, but that's normal in Münster, that's not the reason. I suspect it was because of the Corona rules: Access to the Christmas market had only people according to the 2G rule - only vaccinated and recovered - and masks compulsory.

@@BKH_Family Just the city center, there is everything (Museum, Cathedral, etc.) you need to see. There is the Aasee Lake but it’s too cold now to go.

Was ist an Münster denn so verkehrt? Einer der Gründe warum ich mir extra nen Studienplatz in Münster gesucht habe ist weil mir die Innenstadt gefällt, sowohl die Altstadt auch als der modernere Part, außerdem verbinde ich die Stadt auch viel mit Konzerten, interessanten Locations usw... ich denke es hängt eher davon ab wonach man sucht^^
