    Original manufacturer outsourced their after sale warranty to a 3rd party company. I was able to get original parts from them, but took a few months.

    Nice video. The hoses that connect internally to all the fixtures and mixer/diverter are 1/2" inner diameter and they are great. However, i suspect that the cold and hot flexi pipes are of 1/4" inner diameter which are the bottleneck of this whole panel system. You probably will enjoy greater water flow if you replace them with 1/2" garden hoses which have larger bore or any flexi pipes with 10mm bore.

    Thanks for showing how to remove the thermostatic cartridge. I fumbled around for several hours trying to remove it, but I didnt know about the small screw you have to remove to pull the cartidge out. Your video saved my day. My cartridge was very stiff, but after 2 minutes in CLR diluted 1:2, it was very easy to turn and it worked without problem.
    Before I cleaned it with CLR, I ordered another cartridge as a backup from the Mecanair web site, and my order was shipped the following day without any problem. I did not inquire about the warranty, but anyway I did not have a receipt (bought 7-8 years ago), so I had to pay $63 + $15 transport + taxes.

      I agree, great tip on the set screw. I never would have found it. Also, thanks for the tip on cleaning the cartridge with CLR solution. After 5 minutes soaking in 50% CLR, the cartridge looked like new and worked great.

    Thank you for sharing this, I rebuilt the thermostat once by cleaning it and re-lubing it with plumber's grease and it worked good for about a year but I think I may have to replace the thermostatic valve this time.

    Put a towel over the shower drain in case you drop the set screw. Thanks for sharing.

    mykiboy thanks for sharing this video. I tried to open the thermostatic valve but the small set screw slipped inside the valve. The knob itself is not coming off even though I tried to push it with a screw driver. My question is how to retrieve the small set screw and how to remove the knob. Reason I am trying to open the hot/cold control knob is that 1) it doesn't work properly, either I have very hot water or luke warm water. 2) It doesn't turn all the way to the coldest setting.

    Hi I have a water leak from the back of this panel. It seems that water is leaking from the area around the flow valve. Do you think I should replace the catridge (diverter valve)? I do not know why the water leaks from there

    Was removing the panel required or could you have replaced it from the front?

    • @mykiBoy
      @mykiBoy  4 роки тому

      I don't think you can access the screw at 14:23 without taking the panel off the wall

    • @kgm2182
      @kgm2182 Рік тому +2

      No need to remove the panel. You can access the set screw at 8:50. It's easy to miss this screw so people tend to go much deeper into the plumbing than necessary.

    • @stevenl.5490
      @stevenl.5490 11 місяців тому +1

      @@kgm2182 Thanks for the helpful tip! While the screw could be seen in my unit, it wasn't necessarily accessible because it was further back. Luckily I had a hex key with a ball end, allowing me to unscrew it at an angle. The key removed a bit of material from the plastic shower column, but the area is hidden, so who cares. Saved me from having to disassemble everything.

    Our volume water gauge is acting up. The dial for the flow of water is not turning off where it normally turns off at 12 o'clock. It turns off at 3o'clock
    in the dial. How can we fix this problem?Thanks in advance.

    • @mykiBoy
      @mykiBoy  3 роки тому

      Remore the set screw on the dial, pull the chrome dial handle out, turn it 90 degress and put it back on. To see where set screw is, and how to disassemble the chrome dial handle, watch the video again, good luck!

    We have a similar shower unit but the water knob diesnt turn off water. With some trial and error we got it to close now but we are unable to find the 43mm shaft diverter valve. Mecanair (the distributors of Uber Haus parts in Canada) say that this part is discontinued. Does this mean our shower column has to be tossed?😞

      Did you ever find the diverter valve? My UBERHAUS shower column needs a new one, same one as you mention and described above in video

    Thanks for the upload! I have that problem with the diverter valve, so I called Mecanair and I was told that I need to provide a receipt inorder to get the cartridge replaced under warranty. How did you manage to get around that?

    • @mykiBoy
      @mykiBoy  4 роки тому

      Think I just got lucky back then. Mecanair was not easy to deal with. Other companies like Moen has lifetime cartridge replacement without need for receipt, I guess Uberhaus doesn't have such policy.
