Today's video explains why the Seattle Kraken sent Shane Wright down to the AHL's Coachella Valley Firebirds on a 14-day conditioning stint, circumventing the NHL-CHL transfer agreement. CHL players drafted into the NHL are not allowed to play in the AHL until the age of 20. Thus, Shane Wright was unable to be sent down normally. However, the Seattle Kraken scratched Shane Wright for five games allowing them to send him down on a 14-day conditioning loan. Not many people knew of this rule.

Should they have handled this situation differently?
This is what the bruins did with pastrnak and look at where he is now so
i think it will be interesting to see when he comes back to play against the habs in the nhl, like really, slafkovsky put up a really solid game i could say the best game he had right now and man look at that speed, he so big and yet still fast somehow like how, shane wright in the ahl looks solid too, i bet it will be exciting to watch that game
The same situation happened with Frank Vatrano but at the NHL level he’s about average. My point is Shane Wright might not be an NHL superstar but a solid NHL player that produces points that are good but not great.
You didn't really explain 'why' they sent him down. You explained the context that allowed them to send him down.
I still want to know why. You might say, "because they scratched him 5 times." Okay, but why did they do that?
