HAVING KEVIN AND AVIS MIC LOWER THAN ALL THE OTHERS WAS A MISTAKE.
I think they were all on the same volume level (the mics, I mean). Notice that in their old videos they have Avi and Kevin closest to the mic (I think they're naturally not as loud as Kirstie, Scott, or Mitch). So I think they should have made their mics louder the others.
+Jeremiah Nuguid Idk about the beatbox, but the reason you can't hear Avi is bc if you sing low notes loudly, they will most likely not be that low, so he needs to sing more silent then the others ;)

i think that because Kevin and Avi are singing notes that are generally a lower frequency than Scott Mitch and Kristie and the lower frequencies are more difficult to pick up with the mics that they use so it just sounded quieter.
Avi's mic should have been louder. People are probably wondering what he actually does.

I get why you guys feel bad, I really get it. But both Kevin and Avi know that in an acapella group...the background is easily the most important. Without him the whole thing would collapse. I think they both know that and except. I would like to think they love doing the beats.
Kirstie's voice isn't annoying.
I just think Ellen's people didn't balance their sounds well, making Kirstie louder than the others. For instance you can barely hear Avi and Kevin, when you can usually hear them all pretty clearly.

Alexandra Muscaru Nope; Avi and Kevin are subdued. I agree with ThatNerdJonathan. There's almost no presence below 200 Hz, and Kevin sounds distant. But really, this is live, so I don't care that it doesn't meet studio version mixing standards. It's tolerable as-is for the everyday fan.
Just saw them live yesterday and they were amazing. Not a note out of place. Must've just been lousy sound people at Ellen.
Well, what you say seems to refer to their performance ability, which I agree is great. Good recording quality is tough to execute properly though. You need a decently dry room to start with, and then you can start experimenting with user-designed reverbs for the most control over the final sound.

Yeah I heard it's because they had to get permission for all the songs and some didn't come through so that's probably why it wasn't in there. They had to cut out some of the songs.
Ya they said in one superfruit episode (Ellen and PTX vol 2) they said that they couldn't get all 30 something songs cleared in 3 days so these were the only songs that they could get cleared so they had to arrange this one instead

for everyone saying they are off balance. yes they are. the mics probably never got checked, but its ellen. and if you look carefully, they arent wearing their ear pieces, so they cant really hear eachother over themselves.

Kirstie just naturally has a loud singing voice, Avi and Kevin usually sing lower notes so over Scott, Mitch and Kirstie they would be hard to hear. If anything, it's the audio mixers fault if they did tamper with the mics

Yeah, that happens a lot. Just put on headphones then you'll hear him no problem. If you're watching with a laptop it's why you can't hear him. Laptops speakers suck when it comes to bass.

Hi, when it comes to Pentatonix theyr'e extremely talented live but a lot of shows they guest star on don't balance their mics properly. It annoys me so much! In some, Scott overpowers everyone and Kirstie can't even be heard. I know what you mean, it sucks.
