Looks like a perfect day to play on Lake Simcoe nice and flat. Good to see Anchor girl at the helm, my wife enjoyed her time immensely at the helm as well. Thank You

I can't say that Anchor Girl really enjoys time at the helm, as she only ever takes the wheel when I gotta hit the head while underway. She's asked me on more than one occasion if I find it boring driving the boat 😂 Of course, the answer is always a solid NO, as I love driving our boat! 😁

Great watching your videos Paul. I'll boat vicariously thru you this year...We winterized our boat in mid Aug before undergoing cancer treatments which have left me very fatigued....

Well, I'll have to do my best to keep you occupied then! 😁 Fair warning is that I'm gonna look a little depressed in my next video - just sad about the season ending - but after that one, I'll have some exciting news. Looking forward to new adventures and opportunities, so I hope you'll continue to follow along...

We took the Friday off as well. Left the marina early Friday and spent three nights at anchor at Hotham island. It’s just a short 9 NM run but a favourite spot. Did a lot of travelling around with the dinghy and visited with friends. Nice weather and perfect end to the season. Now on the hard waiting for next season.

Cool. I wasn't familiar with that spot, so I checked Google Maps+ Navionics. If you read the comments on Navionics, there were multiple mentions of a couple, norm and Elaine, who have a cottage there and are quite friendly with all the boaters who anchor there. Have you had a chance to meet them yourselves?
BTW, I'm referring to the main anchorage on the north side of the island 🏝️

@@BoatingWithBoogaboo yea I know Norm and Elaine. They are amazing people and if you are ever in the area try to make 430 happy hour on their deck. Many great stories and awesome people.

Great episode Paul, and these lock cruises are interesting to me as we don't have to deal with these in my area. Very educational! Good stuff.

Nothing of real interest to anyone else...I'm just collecting thoughts and ideas in a spreadsheet matrix (I'm kinda nerdy with spreadsheets LOL) to make sure I shop for the right next boat. Will likely be March/April '24 before I make a purchase so I don't have extra storage fees this off-season...unless something perfect comes along.

Not on the Labour Day weekend but we got away back up to Swift Rapids the weekend after (video coming soon). Thanks for the synopsis on Kirkfield, the lock master there is a great guy. Our last rip through there in July he did an amazing job of organizing a line up of probably 10 boats 2 of which were pushing 55 feet and got us all through. Cheers
