    But according to your demo, we would still have to go into each post and set the new thumbnail size even after using the regenerate thumbnails. So it could still be potentially very time consuming.

      Yep, that's right Ana. Unfortunately, there's no way around that. The plugin does not know which image sizes are irrelevant on the site so it can't replace, remove or delete them. This could be programmed into the plugin, but doing that automatically could have unintended consequences like removing images you find out later you didn't want removed.
      At this time, this is the best way to regenerate thumbnails in WP 😳Maybe an enterprising developer could code a better plugin to handle this for us.

    Great content. I have a question after watching your menu pop-up video. Do you know how to shift the page to the right when you trigger the menu? Ex. Esquire website (mobile or desktop)

      Hi Ric,
      I haven't tried to make that happen yet. I'll look into make an updated for that in the future. I'll outline what I would do, in case you find it helpful. Probably the best way to do it manually is with Javascript or jQuery. You would create an onClick event for when someone clicks on the nav menu button. That event then applies some CSS code to the to the body of the websites. The CSS could would be negative margin in the direction you want the site to move and a CSS animation to make the movement smooth and equally as fast as the menu sliding out. Then you would need a second onClick event for when the menu is closed. And it removes the CSS the first event applied.
      If you want a quick fix, there is an Elementor add-on that does this out of the box, but it doesn't have a free version. I have a video show everything the add-on can do and this link ( ua-cam.com/video/kXmAQqdkVtg/v-deo.html ) will take you right to the part where the website sliding is.
      I hope that helps :) Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks for watching!

    This didn't make any sense... You went through a beautiful demonstration, but it appears that the plugin never worked. You still had to go in and update every single Thumbnail. DID I MISS SOMETHING?

      Hi Edie,
      It does appear like the plugin didn't work, but does. The plugin converts all the thumbnails (or other images) to the correct sizes that your site needs. BUT, the plugin is unable to update all the links to the old images.
      If you look at the example in this video. The file name for the thumbnail that is 150px by 150px in size will end with 150x150. All the different images sizes WordPress creates will have the image dimensions at the end of their respective file names. When we change the thumbnail size in the settings to be 300px by 300px or by installing a new theme, the new image's file name will have 300x300 at the end of it.
      But the plugin does not know which image sizes are irrelevant on the site so it can't replace, remove or delete them. This could be programmed into the plugin, but doing that automatically could have unintended consequences like removing images you find out later you didn't want removed.
      I hope that makes a little more sense, it's a strange way of working the problem, but it works.

    how to remove webiste html code errors in validator.w3.org validation

    • @wplearninglab
      @wplearninglab  4 роки тому

      That can be difficult in WordPress because it almost always means you need to the change the theme template code to make it W3 compliant. That is something that the developer needs to address.
      But sometimes, the invalid HTML can come from how you are creating your pages and posts. If you are adding HTML to them, you may be adding it incorrectly. If you're not adding HTML to your pages or posts, then it's probably a theme issue. It could also be caused by plugins that are generating HTML code incorrectly.
