- I needed a new wallet but didn't want to pay almost $199 for the Ridge so tried this $21 alternative

I have used both simultaneously, here's my take on them. The Rossm is identical to the Ridge in appearance. However if you use both at the same time you can tell a quality difference in the hand. I don't know why but the cards slide in smoother on the Ridge, and just feels a little better. The Rossm is not a bad option to get this type of wallet for that price but if price doesn't matter the Ridge does feel more superior in quality and is better but again both are good choices.

It's a cracker Giles, not sure why you say through the video but I still use the wallet every day
I have the Ridge Burnt Titanium and the Rossm forged gold. The Rossm came with the torx driver, strap, money clip, extra strap as well as extra screws for $30 shipped. The Ridge you have to choose either strap or money clip, unless you pay the extra $10 or whatever it is, torx driver and extra screws for around $125 unless you use a code which they always have. In all honesty they are the same design and size. You’re pretty much paying for the name. Both are awesome and can’t ever decide which I like more due to the difference in fiber vs titanium.

may i ask you if its made in china or in usa? i mean the burnt titanium. I bought mine and on all 3 boxes that came with, it is written Made in China and i am dissapointed. Paid 180 euros from 300 for the bundle wallet and key holder. It is also grade 2 titanium and not 5 as they advertise. I picked europe version of site, on usa version of the site it says grade 5 titanium

Have been debating on getting ridge vs rossm and I ended up purchasing rossm. Owners of ridge wallet mentioned on better quality but I just can't justify the cost when it serves purpose and feels, looks high quality.
What a lot of people won't realize is that these modern minimal wallets are a modern version of the metal money clip that were popular back from in the 1960s and disappeared in the 1990s due to the introduction of more and more plastic cards for various things that money clips could not hold as they were designed to only hold bank notes I myself used a money clip for around 10 years and after losing my old wallets got one of these modern minimal wallets myself although I went for one of the cheapest on Amazon that only cost £15.00 which is the same I would spend on average on a traditional leather wallet the difference being no screwdriver or spare screws provided and more only a money clip no cash strap included I find that the real trick to using a ridge style wallet with is to get the the card or cards you want out before you get to the till to save time at the till.

I would say if you can get hold of one it's well worth it. Especially at the price rather than pay crazy price for Ridge which is ultimately the same thing
These Rossm wallets are just as good if not better than a Ridge wallet. I have a forged gold one and it's a superb product for $30

The rossom is less finely machined and only has a one year gaurrentee but I think the rossom is better because it's more affordable the ridge was always designed for the premium market where people spend a minimum of 100.00 dollars or pounds depending on what country you come from because they consider anything less than that to be cheap tat and the rossom was made
For the affordable market while still being quiet high quality also as of note both
Are designed and owned by American companies and both are made in China so rossom isn't a cheap knock-off but is a genuine affordable clone
Here's a good question. Which one is smoother when putting your cards in and out? Which one scratches your card after a while and which one doesn't?
Well all I can tell you is this has been my one and only wallet used daily for the past 18 months and I don't have a single scratched card and still have no problem getting any of the 10 cards I have in there out.

I have two Ridge wallets, and yes they are expensive, but there is a difference in quality for sure. I do hope this one works well for you.

There really isn’t much difference between a $140 RIDGE and the carbon fiber wallet I just grabbed for $8 on a Amazon Lightning Deal. The $8 JSM has a gloss finish which is really nice and made it a non redundant purchase after owning the matte finished ROSSM.
@@Assimilator702 yeah that’s because it’s not real carbon fiber though this and the ridge use real carbon fiber and forged carbon which is even tougher and lighter I have a cheap on like the one your talking about and after awhile that finish starts to come off and the quality isn’t the same as this or a ridge to me the only thing I can see that’s different between this and my ridge one is my ridge has beveled edges and you have to pay extra for all of the stuff Rossm includes for free
@@jeremeymiller3406 That's 100% FALSE. I've had the Ridge carbon fiber wallet along with 3 other brands and they're all the same quality in construction and materials. If you know what the edge of carbon fiber and epoxy resin looks like when cut you would know. All these wallets are made in the same few factories. The only thing Ridge has is a marketing campaign and higher prices along with an exclusive color in the metal version.
@@Assimilator702 i know exactly what real carbon fiber looks like if you want to see pictures I’ll send them to you the carbon fiber one I have is absolutely not real carbon fiber I know carbon fiber doesn’t just scrape off like a coating I agree the ridge is a rip off but the difference in my 10$ one and my Rossm the quality is t even close the elastic is stitched so much cleaner as well and it doesn’t have the same retention it’s stretched out.
Only difference in the rossm and the ridge is the beveled edges honestly wish I wouldn’t have wasted my money on the ridge because they are nearly identical the elastic and all once broken in it performs the same I could have literally gotten 3 of these in different colors and you can buy the carbon fiber and the forged carbon versions for no extra charge the ridge will cost significantly more and the fact that rossm includes tools screws and money clip and elastic money band I even got a second elastic band and with the ridge all of that is extra makes rossm a no brainer if your worried about the beveled edges you can do that yourself with some sand paper or file

How does it fair with day to day use are you loving the ROSSM?
It is my full time wallet, has been since the day I bought it and I love it. The quality is spot on, no problems whatsoever and glad not to have the bulk of a regular leather type wallet.
I hope this wallet worth purchasing vs normal traditional folding leather wallet. 👍🙂
It's all down to personal choice I think. For me I don't think I will ever go back to a regular folding wallet

Get one. They’re 100% worth it and a game changer. Try an inexpensive one first. Amazon will have Lightning Deals on Friday. I picked one up with the JNC branding and it was $8. Black gloss carbon fiber with the tan money strap. No logo on it at all which is real nice. I’m constantly holding onto it since it feels so nice in the hand. Beats a rubber band around 5 or 6 cards for sure. It’s $14 on Amazon right now and it’s 100% worth it at that price.

Well ridge claim that their wallet with is more expensive because it is hand made and engineered for the luxury market where as the rossom is more machine made which means less refinement but more easily mass produced at a cheaper cost while retaining some of the essence of the ridge for the general market but not bring a really really bad wish knock off that is just a pile of overpriced junk that is probably make from used soup cans. Today my rossom arrived which was a forged carbon Pacific that as a ridge would cost £125.00 but being a rossom only cost £31.98 if I earned around £50 00 per hour or more I might consider getting a ridge but not everyone has a massive income and has to live more realistically.
Rossm isn't bad at all, holds itself and does its job very well - though I doubt that it can last very long particularly when I have quite a lot of cards... The Ridge however doesn't seem to have this problem for me at all, and the product quality is quite telling. Is it worth the 10 times price? I doubt it, but I'd like to make sure that I have a top quality product so I'd probably pass on Rossm and find a mid-range Ridge alternative.
Interesting perspective. I have been using the Rossm as my main and only wallet since this review (so over a year now) with 12 cards in it and it still functions every bit as l well as it did on day 1 with no signs of wear so from that perspective the Rossm is priced exactly as it should be and I would still 100% take it over the inflated Ridge

Both have lifetime warranties now, but one is 3-5x cheaper. Ridge is attempting to sue Rossm and the ulterior motive is because Rossm has managed to cut deep into Ridge's market share.
As someone that has owned both, the price of Ridge does not justify the quality difference. Especially when both are willing to back it up with lifetime warranties. Both manufacture from China and ironically from the same factories. With Ridge you're paying for a brand with a very slightly better premium feel, one which I think is not justified for the insane gap in price.

Have a Rossm, a no brainer for me. It's obvious by the stuff you get, they are made at the exact same factory in China. The Ridge obviously does the massive advertisement campaign and that's why you pay $100+ where the Rossm wallets are $27 free shipping. Duh! Anyone who tells me The Ridge is worth a hundred bucks is nuts.

When you get it, it's got both. You get the box with the screwdriver, so you can make it with the clip or strap or change. You get extra screws. I swear you get a great deal for the price. I've had mine now four days. I really liked it at first. It's different. Now I love it. You get the hang of it and the cards you use most you put at the front and back. Trust me it's literally the SAME exact thing as The Ridge. Like no difference. So yea, easy 10 for me.

This isn't about buying a fake wallet lol, it's about buying a decent and not over priced one. Rossm is not claiming to be a Ridge. I can buy a Ridge for £105 atm and that's only an aluminum one lol, while the rossm ones are carbon fiber and much cheaper.

@@JD19899 the bevel is not the only difference. You need to open up the wallets to see the differences in the cash band,. In the Ridge it is joined to the main band, in the ROSSM it's two separate bands. I believe the fixing of the cash clip is slightly different too. I'm not denying that the Ridge is overpriced but the wallets, although looking similar, are not the same.
