I don't know too much about Spectre, but I feel that she's a pretty MU heavy character; feast or famine. She has the range, is able to convert off her range, and her mix isn't bad, but she still lacks damage most of the time and relies on Gold Cube to really get things started, not to mention her lack of real guard damage. This makes me feel that if she doesn't bully the opponent completely in neutral (which is hard in this game), she just crumples. Her defense is also very lacking with only a parry and a sub-par GC, as well as no super solid neutral skips with CV, making her defense even worse due to not being able to abuse IS GC CV. 6M CV can be good, but again, if the opponent is able to fight back in the neutral, 6M CV could just get stuffed. Part of the reason I don't know too much about Spectre is because I never needed to lab against her as Ranger because the MU has nothing different.
Battle Mage is a pretty fair character, which is not what you want in DNF Duel lol. She has some fatal flaws right now on her offense concerning pushback and frame advantage and her routes require a LOT of situational awareness since she tries her best to two touch, but overall, she's pretty fun. If I'm honest though, right now, she's basically a worse Inquisitor, which is unfortunate
This game needs air blocking and a combo breaker mechanic. Too much pressure not enough defensive options... it's one of the main reasons the player base dropped, all my friends that are hardcore fighting game players like the game but it doesn't stand strong like guilty gear, melty blood or blazblue because it lacks defensive options. I want this game to succeed but i don't see it happening with it current battle system.
The crazy af offense is fine BUT i agree we need mush stronger defence options. Give us some parries, combo breaks...something because I feel like I'm cheating whenever I have advantage lol. What do you even do in the corner lol? One missed DP and you're dead

How is specre canceling 4C into 6C?
I'm not a Spectre player, but I think that's actually jS, not 4S. jS has more cancel options compared to 4S which doesn't have any IIRC
