Thank you, Mark Zonder, Frank, Jim, Ray, and Joe. If you read these from time to time it means a lot to a lot of people. 😮❤
The most under-rated band ever.
also Savatage
I saw the Fate's Warning parallels album ad in a metal maga zine early 90s then read that joey daub of Believer wanted his drum sound to sound like Zonder/ fates warning so, I bought the album "parallels" great album
thank you🔥
One of the best CDs ever in my opinion. It still stands the test of time.
Absolutely
I couldn't agree more!!
My opinion is just a point of view
Got this as a cd from "Columbia house" because I had previously picked queensryche as something I liked.
Concur
this band should be included in the TOP 10 metal bands ever!

One of my Favorite albums of the 90's.When life was a struggle i would listen to this.
Best album of all time from any band ever .
Together with 1994 "Inside Out"
truth!
shafta99 I like No Exit , but it's probably my least favorite with Ray Alder.
shafta99 Mark Zonder made more of a difference than anything else. Steve Zimmerman is ok but Zonder approaches N Peart at times. Alder got better each and every album out , " Theories of Flight " is a good example of Fates still producing good material.
Randy Jones Where's perfect symmetry at that's the best if you like more prog
Absolute masterpiece.
Great music, they should have as much credit as Dream Theater and Queensrÿche.
FW is touring w/ Queensrÿche right now (2018)
You cannot compare those 2 bands they play different metal genres.
What do you mean? They were all considered prog metal bands.
@@Tankyard Queensryce went from a standard rock band at Their inception to being one of the leaders of the progressive scene.
Saw it, and I'm not supporting Queensryce without Jeff Tate or other original members. It's a completely different band now and not for the better
This album holds a special place in my musical heart. A great blend of progressiveness, melody and maturity. The songwriting is thoughtful and each member plays their role perfectly. Simply a must-have in your collection.
You could not have said it better. What a great band.💎🎶🎧🎸
Simply the best FW album, a timeless classic
Real music, from the heart, soul, talent...
Fates Warning is the only band that made line up changes and never lost their way. They deserved the Nobel Prize for that.
Ya calm down. Plently of bands changed lineups and were still production killer albums
Always felt this was an underrated album. They kept their tracks short (4-5 minutes) which didn't drag on the melodies. The production was fantastic.
"the eleventh hour" is too long, but yeah.. This album is great
I don't think the eleventh hour was to long. Considering it usually reference to waiting for the governor to give a stay, before an execution. The last 60mins could be the longest in someones life. These guys are true artists. This album is is ageless. I first heard it in 1997 im 52yrs old and will listen to it for as long as i have hearing. Lets not forget despite never being on the big label scene these guys are still fkn ripping making albums. Staying true to themselves and fans.
This was sent to me by "Columbia House" in the 90's as a CD I might like.
Thanks! One of my top albums of all times!!!
One of the greatest prog metal cds EVER!! This band is just fantastic. I've seen them twice and even met Ray. They are still going strong, and getting better with each piece of art they make.
My favorite Progressive Metal album. Fates Warning have gotten me through some tough times in my life, and I was fortunate enough to see this tour at The Mason Jar in Phoenix, AZ
don't think I ever loved every song on an album until parallels musical song writing genius still favorite band to this day
I have an incredible story about this record that I will cherish for the rest of my life. This is not click bate...I am blessed! I met Terry Brown at a recording seminar at the studio where he recorded Fates Warning Patallels my favorite record ever. Lottery!
This is just a great album
I had this album always playing at the time of the release and until their next piece of great work. The soundtrack of the time for me. Donny Stiles. 😢❤
One of my favorite albums of all time...
Teamster? :D
Omair Sheikh - it’s me :)
NO EXIT
The Best Music I have heard in many years ... Beautiful Metal !!!
The greatest band EVER !!!!
There is something so mystical and awesome about his music.
It's at the highest level of feeling, intelligence, power, heart, soul and perfection. I hope these guys are multi-millionaires and living awesome lives. This music made life worth living.
jesse!! Very very well said brother!!! I totally agree!! These guys are the GENUINE prog art!! Amazing live!!
+jesse dover yes!
No they are not multi millionaires for sure
jesse dover at one time really and still might be it's all in the name of the band
Does the bands name say it all or what for future of prog metal see what ya got!
This is what music was all about back in the days.fates warning, queensryche, armored saint, medadeth, metallica, were in head bangers ball.80's was music.when metal ruled.
Ruben Reyna Back in the day when music was made with real inspiration by real musicians, before people that had nothing to do with music fucked it all
+Brian Kunkle perfeclty well stated.
***** Don't know what age you've got, but I guess you are to young to have lived in the 1980s. I don't know anybody to have lived then and now and to honestly think that "it's the same", because it isn't. There is absolutely no comparison possible between those years and modern times in terms of music (and not only).
+TheBimmerfan His point is still valid. Good music is still out there (gotta look harder to find it tho) and that same music is suppressed in favor of "the Next Big Thing" that is being marketed to the masses. What you say is also true in that these are different times, but that is a separate point (also just as valid, tho.) I'll shut up now.
+Ruben Reyna
mercyful fate, king diamond, iron maiden, slayer, sepultura...
Fates Warning is Far beyond most !
This album is is a solid stone for all of us.
Parallels has given all of us Magic !
Thank you Fates Warning , thank you for uploading this Epic Album Goran!
tight band everything
NO EXIT. #1!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is one of my handful of "desert island" discs. Thank for posting
Point of view is some GOAT level shit.
Amazing song and chorus riff.
In 1993 I hadn't heard of Fates Warning, though I loved Queensryche. At the time in my life amazing synchronicity was happening. A spiritual awakening of sorts. Intuition told me that if I walked into this used cd shop the first cd I'd randomly pick would be something very meaningful to me. This was the cd I happened to pick. The album cover of the old man on his death bed, the names Fates Warning and Parallels, the music, the lyrics, everything seemed to speak to my soul. And it has since been my favorite album of all time. Strangely this album has somehow been obscured from the mainstream. It's a hidden gem.
I love this album. Don’t Follow Me, The Road Goes on Forever and Eye to Eye are some of my favourites.
Still one of the best albums of all times! Only killers - no fillers!
Straight up
Hate to say I forgot all about these guys until hearing this album again today. Brought back so many memories. These guys were for sure pioneers in metal music. Back then it was hair/poser metal and metal, prog wasn't a term in my circle back then. If you want to label prog rock in my opinion it was RUSH who started it, so maybe it was Fates warning that started Prog metal, not Queensryche. Its all up for debate but ones thing for sure, this is a very under rated for the times. Deserves a lot more credit than it gets.
All 8 tracks are perfect, but "Leave the Past Behind" is definetly my favourite, best of the best.
Mark's drumming and the solo are stunning. First Fates song I heard and haven't looked back since
I thought people able to appreciate prog music were more open minded! I'm saddened by all the people talking about how better or not is this album compared to Queensryche or in general the comparison about bands, is it really necessary?
We can talk about which album sold more 'cause it's about supposedly correct data, but there is no true better, this is art, what's better to me is pointless compared to what's better to each other and vice versa!
Why can't people just enjoy each album instead making a "mental best of" about everything?
Sorry for this outburst, anyway great album!
I love prog this band was introduced to me by my friend. I never even knew they existed until then. now that I have explored this band I know they have a lot of good albums.
+aaron king if you haven't already...listen to Arch/Matheos....its the original singer reunited with them, then check out Awaken the Guardian from FW...by far the 2 best in my opinion ....i love the stuff with Ray, but if u haven't, go listen
queensryche had nothing on this bandgo FRANK love you
progressive metal is not for the narrow-minded, all the opposite it's more complex than most music today. as to Queensryche's Empire, it is a lot more commercial than all their previous releases. they turned a little bit into that glam scene. it really sucked and i didn't follow them after that anymore.
alexlanza7&9
I agree!! Amen! Fates was a huge part of my musical upbringing. They are amazing, as are so many other bands. They write these songs for us to enjoy not judge.
One of the best albums EVER. Thank you Fates guys for this ultimate experience!
I love this album. I grew up practicing vocals to this album and some of their other ones. My CDs got destroyed in a car accident. Thank you for posting this. Rock on.
Following these vocals God bless you I wish I could hang out in that key.
Ray's voice is so powerful yet smooth. Him , Midnight, and a few others.but one that has impressed me lately is Clause from scorpions. 2017 I think they did an acustica show in Greece. They had three different Opera singers come out and join. They had the mic. Clause no mic blew them all away. Couldn't believe it. Was great.
the best album in the world !!!
FATES WARNING: The greatest band ever. 🤘🏼💪🏼
Life In Still Water featuring James LeBrie from DT one of the greatest songs ever written.
is it a joke?
This is the Album of my life!
Dream Theater, Queensryche, Fates Warning. Music my cousin introduced me because I absolutely hated Grunge and loved Progressive Rock. This album is right in the era where my Prog-Metal journey began. Love these bands a ton more now then I did then and this album is an absolute treasure.
The best ever. Fates Warning is and always has been amazing? Love this band!

Is this the first posting of this album? This album is what defined me my senior year of high school. I got into FW before DT, it made me rethink my 80's guitar style. Brings me right back to awesomeness...Eye to Eye!!!! Whaat?. .Epicness!!!
***** \m/
M an 80's head, this by far was my favorite album by any band...plus you had the legend Marc Zonder on drums..couldnt get any better than that!!!
masterpiece! Amazing!!!
I love music that engages the minded as well as the heart and soul.
I am so thankful u share this Another flawless metal record. 1991 grunge erupted and this record was overlooked by the new sound. But those who knew, knew. It's been ages since I've listened to it myself. I do have No Exit on vinyl I must complete this entire collection I feel
one of my favorite bands.....
Mine too
Man I was bummed when the last one of these got taken down, this album is legit thanks for the upload.
This album came out on my birthday of the year my entire world changed forever. It is a hallmark of those changes and timely as well.
Thank you Fates Warning.
This album is utterly amazing!

Eye to Eye, The Eleventh Hour and The Road Goes on Forever, my favorite songs in the album.
All eight are my favourite
My favorite FW album. Thank you for uploading!
Probably the first prog metal I'd ever heard. Bought it because the album "looked cool", blew my head off.
simplesmente brilhante!!!!!!
Awesome! Masterpiece!
From the beginning tô the end it s Diamond! Long live Fates Warning!
It's a masterpiece album of fates warning. Awesome
First FW album i ever heard, classic stuff.

И я тоже!
Great Album 🤘🤘
С 90-х... слушаю, всё супер, прогрессив!
Masterpiece of an album!!!!!!!!!
yeah, hell yeah, what a great performance yesterday at Kiff Aarau, Switzerland!
Bought this the day it came out. Talk about excitement. I was working at Best Buy in their music department and I think we received 2 copies on CD and maybe 1 or 2 on cassette that Tuesday it came out. Almost 30 years ago now. Still standing up. I loved their music, but first listen I was hoping for a more heavier album, but I liked it and it grew on me with each listen.
Saw them in the 80’s and they were amazing and still are,HORNS UP🤘🤘🤘
amazing álbum!!!, from México
Parallels is definately the best FW album I think, "Awaken The Guardian, Perfect Symmetry and Theories Of Flight" are up there but this really is pure magic.
I just like to say that I lived in those times when they came out and it's almost to say like you have your Baroque, Chamber, Classical and Romantic periods, of music this definitely was Fantasy Period I think this was the reason I got so interested in the Romantic Period of the 1800s music
This drummer is great.. Mark Zonder is his name, I think.. This dude is badass imo
He's a new fav of mine
This album is a CLASSIC
I Love this Album!!!! Masterpiece!!!
Ive just discovered another awesome band
Love this album, these guys are just as good as all the other prog metal groups!
They are 100x BETTER!!!!!!!
vocals perfect
Pure Diamond.
альбом - шедевр. Не одной проходной песни. Всё круто сыграно, очень мелодично. Каждый трек врезается в память
Hell yeah bro!!!
The highest goal of music is to connect one's soul to their Divine Nature, not entertainment.”
-Pythagoras-

SwedeMackster hails till sverige, you metallhead
Excellent Album.
Love it.
What a Beast Zonder... So precisely.
Amazing album from beginning to the end!!
Feels strange to listen to a song that advises you to 'leave the past behind' while this album is from 1991... You can't follow every good advise you're given obviously.
so what if its from 1991 they are awesome
+mike Magic I did not say that they weren't. And I wasn't complaining about the fact that it's from 1991. Obviously, you've missed the point of my comment...
Why is everyone hating on this comment? It's obviously a joke about the irony of the situation.
Finally someone who got it ! Thanks @Michael Edwards
People are really bad at comprehending their native languages these days...
i say the band's name says it all to the future of prog metal what's up
One of my favorite bands of all time. It's funny one of my other favorite bands of all time is Pantera. Fates almost got literally killed by the crowd at their first and only show with Pantera. Funny how there's Genre within a Genre. This opened up the door though for Prong to get a good name for themselves. 3 great bands....^^$
JohnnyHayabusa ....same....love FW and loved PANTERA. Don't see why the 2 can't co exist together. Great music is great music.
I saw fw with Pantera in Chicago ,I loved it but they got booed
Thank you Goran
This is definitely inspired by operation: Mindcrime, you can hear it everywhere. My personal favorite is No Exit, to me it’s more “metal” than the stuff that came after it, but the production and style of this album is great, and it’s very unique
No exit is also my favorite ,but I enjoy all albums from this awesome band including their older stuff
I remember not liking and at the same time loving perfect symmetry and parallels when they came out
Life stil water sensacional um dos melhores som dessa banda
I HEAR THIS ALBUM FOR THE FIRST TIME, VERY NICE MUSIC....
THIS MUSIC IS A BIT LIKE A ROCK BAND " FAITH NO MORE "
GREETINGS TO ALL FROM EXCITING RUSSIA!!!!!
My friend Gretchen said this Album cover reminded her of the last time she saw her Grandfather,on his deathbed, hopefully he's in a better place now...
Awesome
