This was an example of going up 1 step only. You need 2 people to safely go up a flight of stairs but the technique would be the same. I'll clarify this in the description.
@mllee4016 LOL Actually I wasn’t trying to demonstrate going up a flight of stairs, just 1 or 2. I answered this same issue in an earlier comment and recommended that people trying to go up/down a flight of stairs have a home physical therapy assessment done. Taking a wheelchair up/down a complete flight is rarely safe.
This video is only to demonstrate how to go up 1 step or curb. Each person’s situation will be different for more than 1 step, considering the size/strength of the caregiver and or care recipient, how wide or narrow the stairwell and the number of stairs. In general, it’s not safe for one person to attempt going up or coming down a whole flight of stairs with a wheelchair.
@@bigdaddyking43 I get that and understand that in a many, many cases, there’s not enough help or not enough equipment or both. I would recommend getting a doctor to write a prescription for a home physical therapy session to assess your specific situation and provide training for it. It would be the best option
how do you go up the rest of the stairs??
