  • Moveo is an open source, 3D printed robotic arm designed by BCN3D : github.com/BCN3D/BCN3D-Moveo.
    It has 5 axis controlled by stepper motors and a gripper with a servo motor.
    All the motors are connected to an Arduino Mega with a Ramps 1.4 shield.
    I use DRV8825 drivers and the AccelStepper library to control the stepper motors.
    I printed all the parts in PLA (~2.5kg) with my Creality Ender 3 3D printer.
    Stepper motors I used :
    - Joint 1 (Base) : 17HS15-1684S (www.omc-stepperonline.com/nem...)
    - Joint 2 (Shoulder) : x2 23HS41-1804S (www.omc-stepperonline.com/nem...)
    - Joint 3 (Elbow) : 17HS19-1684S-PG5 (www.omc-stepperonline.com/nem...)
    - Joint 4 (Forearm) : 17HS13-1334S (www.omc-stepperonline.com/nem...)
    - Joint 5 (Wrist) : 14HS13-0804S (www.omc-stepperonline.com/nem...)

    Cool stuff .... Even I am working on one and probably it would complete in a few months. I am making it for automatic welding. So i used potentiometer to make stepper closed loop. With this I record stepper postions and play them back .. having some issue but I think I can soon resolve them. I need one help with the multi stepper working at one time... Any idea about it.. like steppper one has to move 500 steps and 2 - 300 steps .. I want a co-ordination between them so how can I do that on Accel stepper library.

    How did you make it with just 2,5 kg pla? i did sliced everything and its a little bit over 5kg (acording to cura). Can you please tell me what exact steppers you are using? i didnt find the ones that were suggested. How much did you pay for all this? how long does it take to print everything?

    • @aurelguest1
      @aurelguest1  3 роки тому +1

      I don't remember exactly the settings I used to slice the pieces, but I just tried with basic settings on cura (20% infill, 0.4mm nozzle, layer height = 0.28 mm and supports) and it takes about 2.5kg of PLA. What settings are you using ? I remember it took me a week to print everything.
      I updated the video description with the steppers I use. Joint 4 is a bit weak so maybe you can take a stronger one. I don't know the price of everything but the most expensive was all the electronic with 130€ for the steppers.

    • @Tomtom5893
      @Tomtom5893 3 роки тому +2

      @@aurelguest1 My slicer settings are 35% infill, 5 walls, 0.6 nozzle, 0.4 layer hight and supports. It took me 75 hours with a speed of 150mm. Some detailed parts are printed with 100% infill with 0.4 nozzle and 0.15 layer hight. (I use a delta printer (SuperRacer) cause my ender wasn't fast enough)

    • @aurelguest1
      @aurelguest1  3 роки тому +1

      @@Tomtom5893 Ok cool :) I think a 0.6 nozzle is a good idea, I always use this now ;) But if you want to save time and material, you can reduce the filling rate and the thickness of the walls. I have never used the SuperRacer printer. Is the build plate large enough for the large parts?

    • @Tomtom5893
      @Tomtom5893 3 роки тому +1

      @@aurelguest1 I want it really sturdy so I was going with 5walls and 35 infill. In all of the videos I saw its cracking and sounds like the parts are almoust breaking.
      Maybe I go down to 4 walls and 30 infill. Even this with a 0.6 nozzle should be more stable. Also less material and time...
      The SR has a round build plate with 26 diameter. I only had to cut the the electronic box parts in half to print them but your ender 3 is also too small for them isn't it?

    • @aurelguest1
      @aurelguest1  3 роки тому

      @@Tomtom5893 I understand, I broke the big elbow part during assembly ... but once everything is assembled, it's quite robust (despite the creaks).
      I didn't print the box for the electronic because I use DRV8825 drivers mounted directly on the RAMPS1.4

      Not exactly :) When I started, I used Pronterface software which is recommended by BCN3D guide, because the code was an adapted version of the Marlin firmware. So, we can use G-code to control the arm but it's not very convenient because it was designed for cartesian machines as 3D printers and not robotic arm (but it works). So I decided to write my own code to control the angle of each motors instead :)
