For years I have wondered why this terrific band never got their just due. Finally they are being recognized for their many talents. A great band that produced so many feel good songs when I was growing up in the '60s. Thank you Hollies.
Graham was using a Banjitar. Tony had played it on the previous song, The very last day. A Banjitar is a banjo head with a six string guitar neck. Tony uses a more normal style of Banjo on Do the best you can
Joe Bloggs - I concur wholeheartedly - Allan Clarke is easily one of the finest lead singers in rock history - It is sad that not nearly enough people know it!!!!!
@ladybluluv , aibajunno, harvey, and whisper: that is called a banjitar - tony was playing it on 'the very last day' before he turned it over to graham. it is a 6-strng banjo with a guitar neck, tuned like a guitar so he can play guitar chords, but it still sounds like a banjo - great sound, huh?! easier to play than a trad 5-string banjo, that tony switched to, which is harder to play since the tuning and fingering are so much different than a guitar. doncha love it?!?! xo

"KEEP GOIN KEEP GOIN *weird arm gesture*" I CAN'T!!! And then he's like "THANK-YOU" and I'll just like "....I see...." AND THEN GRAHAM FELL OFF THE STAGE XD "WOOOAH" I LOOOVE GRAHAM

Three handsome men with greatest voice Allan Clarke voice is like a diamond
Allan Clarke is one of the finest vocalists in rock history. Thanks for sharing this!
Clarke was the best and could play the gob-iron like no one else. Greatest and certainly the most prolific group...in my humble opinion.
I love how Graham takes Tony's banjo, and Tony just gets out another one :')
He's has to have a few on hand just in case. 😄

God that's wicked. They were remarkable live. So much individual talent in one band!
God, I never thought I would see them singing this song live. It's wonderful.
Thanks for posting it.
Allan’s voice in this is spot on…..
Great to see part of my live 50 years later.
Still amazing.
Really liked the Beatles in the 60s but always thought the Hollies were just as good.
absolutely one of my favorite songs by the hollies
Increible que esté viendo este video de hace 52 años! . Qué gran grupo.
Eye candy at it's best
All things considered, to sing this song live takes quite a bit of effort and they did it flawlessly ! Bernie also played a good Bass :+)
You can tell they're proud of this one
Thank for posting this gem, Lynn. The Hollies are having a ball performing and the attitude is contagious.
i just love the banjo intro

2:09-2:31. Angels singing!
Agree... They are one of the most pleasant and perfect harmonies in contemporary music along The Beatles and The Beach Boys, incl Bee Gees
Spectacular
great song from these monsters of nature, great work!
In the U.S. this song was the A-side. It was a minor hit in the autumn of 1968, and got quite a bit of airplay here in Los Angeles.
do the best you can and courage of your convictions are my hollies favorites
LOVELY!!!! I Want More!!! More Of TONY! ;-)

Doo the Best of You
My tony crush is strong here....
YES, he SURE does, Music !!! :D
Still groovy
😍😍😍
Of course, to be historically accurate, it was Yugoslavia then. From shortly after WW1 to the early 1990s, Croatia was a part of Yugoslavia.
"KEEP GOIN KEEP GOIN *weird arm gesture*" I CAN'T!!! And then he's like "THANK-YOU" and I'll just like "....I see...." AND THEN GRAHAM FELL OFF THE STAGE XD "WOOOAH" I LOOOVE GRAHAM
@ladybluluv I suspect that is the first time in written word a banjo player was ever referred to as "Hot"!
👍🪕🪕great!!
Is Graham on summing?
when I want to hear banjos look no furthet
Ha, ha. It's not the mic, Nash's voice wasn't anywhere near as powerful as Clarke's.
how many rock bands used banjos?
Graham is so funnnneh.
dunno - but this one did ....
Allan* not "I'll"
Hahahahaha, surrealistic
You're talking about Shure...has that company ever made a shit mic yet? ;)
hey, btw, what is a 'rita' waiting in a 'mac'??? british friends, what say you??? lol
A "mac" is a raincoat. I am unsure about "rita". Hope this helps.
Rita...meter maid.... traffic warden in a raincoat uniform?... officialdom..😉
Rolling Stones Paint IT black
Sitar played by Brian Jones. No Banjo.
Doo-Doo
That's why the sound man should've turned Nash up.
Doo the best of you? WTF?
Wrong! Check out the Stewball performance on the Bobbie Gentry show. Nash was killing it!
