    This is exactly what we guys need. Thank you so much. So detailed. Still it doesn’t look easy when the wind is so light and no planning But these tips will surely help

    Thank's a lot! Very good tutorial that we need! i have this kind of conditions in south west of France, good powerfull waves with lightwind. When do you need to put your foot in front of the mast? if waves are bigger or wind is lighter? And at what time?

    • @FedericoMorisio
      @FedericoMorisio  10 місяців тому +2

      Thanks Karl, I'm happy to hear that 🤙 Usually when the wind is lighter, because it helps you keep the board flatter, stay more central and have more balance. I usually move it in front of the mast as soon as I pass the wave, in order to flatten the board and use all the board's liters to be able to float over the white water and strong current 👌

    in these cross-off conditions it's sometimes hard to handle all that power in the sail when you point the board downwind to get through the whitewater/wave with the nose pointing forward. How do you handle that?

    • @FedericoMorisio
      @FedericoMorisio  10 місяців тому +2

      That's true! First of all I'm aware of it so I lower my position, bend my legs, active my core and stay super focused and strong with my arms. Then if I get a nuclear gust then I can take off the back hand in order to avoid catapulting, and then grab the boom again to keep going. Remember: the front hand is for control and the back hand is the power/accelerator; if you have too much power just let the back hand go for a second 🤙👌

      As I try to manhandle the gust I often end up with the board turning upwind to the point where the sail gets backwinded... only to get hammered by the next line of whitewater... - admittedly so - it does get super gusty with large wind-holes at the spots I sail when cross-offshore. But I'll try to get low first, I don't do that yet - thank you for explaining :) 👌 @@FedericoMorisio

      @@windsurf888 I feel you! But yes, try to get low, put more pressure on your back leg and keep your front leg almost straight (so the board doesn't turn upwind) and while you manhandle the gusts remember to keep your front arm strong and "play" with your back hand depending on how violent the gusts are. Hope this is understandable and helps!🤙👊💯
