I put a Velcro strap on my hair brushes to help me hold them better when brushing my hair. You can also re-purpose a universal cuff. Just thought I would share. So glad you are doing well! XO

Your sister needs to know what an amazing job she’s doing. Caring is pure devotion. It’s mentally and physically exhausting and people will not realise that unless they have been in that situation. I cared for my mum when she had cancer. It’s hard work and your sister is absolutely amazing.
I became disabled five years ago and went from being a distance runner, teacher and activist to being dependent on my family. I still get angry and frustrated and mourn my old life so much. I have to wonder if you are this positive all the time. I think it is great, but it is amazing.
PS - it’s ok to be sad and/angry or any other feeling that comes up!!
I’ve got 3 sisters and 3 brothers and over the last year I’ve been battling breast cancer without seeing any of them one time. You 2 ladies are exactly what the world needs more of. Much love to you all! (Brother included!)

When I was in the hospital my sister was so amazing. I could feel the unconditional love. Mariah definitely wins best sister award. You are so lucky to have her.
My second job, when I was 18 years old, was as a home health aide for a quadriplegic man. It was seriously humbling to be there and be witness to his emotional/physical struggles from day to day, and to be one of the people he depended on to make his day happen. Seeing this glimpse into your life brings up a lot of memories of that time in my life. I'm so happy you've got an incredibly supportive family, and you all seem to be making the absolute best of a tragic situation. You guys are awesome

Seriously, Mariah is such an amazing sister! I’m sure most siblings would do whatever they could to help, if their brother or sister had an accident like this. It’s just nice to see how much support you have and love you have around you. I’m sure that helps a lot on some bad days or rough days. You got this Mak! You’re positivity is amazing.
I had a discussion yesterday with a person who is what I would call very worldly and selfish. This person spends significant time each day trying to make more money and be oh so important. I told them a very simple statement that I firmly believe. A person can spend every waking hour trying to be important and self promote, when in reality the things that matter most are how we serve and bless others so they can be their very best.
I have zero doubt that Mariah and those like her who serve others earn a special place on the other side. I like to call them angels. Family is really what it's all about. How blessed you are to have loving family! 🥰👍

I lost my son to suicide and your videos have lifted my spirits I can walk move my hands and everything but sometimes my pain is so unbearable that the easiest tasks take time, I'm be ridden and sometimes I have to tell myself just get up do something for 10 minutes and I'm working on that taking ten minutes and 20 minutes at a time but these past Week has been so hard my hair is a mess and your videos have motivated me I do my makeup and own nails as a copying skill , I just want to say I'm a new follower and I'm praying for you because you have given me hope again and because God is good I love him too he always gets me out of depression and helps me kinda accept and heal and have solace from my pain I pray that for you as well your so young my son was fifteen he loved bass guitar he was the best and it is so hard that's why I want to say thank you for sharing your life it gave me peace and courage to not give up

Hi Mak! Would love one day to see a video all about what foods you eat in a day and if if certain foods sit better with your stomach/GI system given your SCI. And possibly a video about bowel and pee schedules (basically how that all works!) I know it’s a sensitive topic, so only so if you’re comfortable of course! I’m sure there are many young guys and girls or freshly new SCI people out there that would love a look into how that adjustment has changed your daily routine. Thank you so much! Your videos and vlogs are so entertaining and educational to watch!

Just came across one of your videos and have been watching nonstop. I too also have a spinal cord injury. Mine happened 17 years ago You are always smiling and so positive. People always tell me you always have a smile on your face. I just try to be positive and take nothing for granted. Keep up the good work in your recovery and continue to be positive.

I just love your videos. I'm walking out my healing after transverse myelitis in my neck and a crazy trigeminal neuralgia season. God gave us bodies that like to heal! Cells repair, even in the spinal column and brain. (Dr. Caroline Leaf was huge in helping me belive that.) Symptoms still happen, but I'm leaps and bounds better than walking with forearm canes 24/7. You'll get there! Mindset is everything.
