Well, that was awesome in-depth overview of the Rise of Angmar Supplement! I really appreciated that, thank you! Lots of great miniatures, lore and scenarios to work with, all based on one of the most pivotal events of Middle-earth! If you're a non-competitive player, or are not in a rush to play the new edition, which I would most likely be, you can always come back to this for story-driven games, and that is an encouraging thought! If I got my hands on the Rangers of the North models, based on their designs and what scenarios to play, I would change Ararthorn into Arador his father, Halbarad into Aarthorn, and the banner bearer Halbarad simply a ranger of the north captain with banner, as he looks more like the generic rangers. That way you could take multiple of them the more rangers you get. The Arathorn model looks old, while Arathorn died at a relatively young age, for a Dunedain at least. The Halbarad model is obviously younger, and since they are paired together, and would make sense for a father and son duo. Chieftain Arador was the one to die from Hil-trolls at an older age, so altering the hero identities based on that makes sense. Also, Halbarad seems to be more along the lines of Aragorn's age, and would probably not have fought with his father or grandfather. Just sticking with the Grey Company Halbarad makes more sense. So what could be done Is a Scenario where Burdhur and his hill-trolls fight against Arador. Arathorn actually died from arrow fire while hunting orcs, which could make for a cool scenario with Nazthak.
I really like the latest supplement so much cool stuff & some really cool scenarios though I think I still prefer Defence of the North purely because it heavily involves 3/5 armies 2 of them being my favourites factions to play. However the fact we got a LL with elves in this one but not Defence of the north still bugs me 😂 what I’d have given for an assault on Dol Guldur LL with Galadriel and Celeborn
Ok so the Arathorn's Stand is modeled after GW's lore and not the book lore. I still hope that they do open it up in the next edition so that we could model both versions - add Elladan and Elrohir and allow players the option to choses which lore to follow. I'd also love to see a generic Dunedain Chieftain like the did with the Generic Kings of Men in this supplement. We could use them to model any era of the Rangers.
I just found out from au customer service that our metal miniatures from the rise of angmar minis will take another 3 to 4 weeks to be sent from England to Australia 🫠 Have you got yours yet?
@middle-earthgaming4356 Yea I'm thinking of using a website called the bards table in Australia for some rivandall miniatures cut my cost down a little hah

Would’ve been great I just prefer this over it due to the variety of the scenarios really and you get a little more overall 😁

I had a feeling it wasn’t the full canon cheers for the info man 👍
These supplement books are beautiful and I hope with a new edition that they come out with similar books at some point
Fingers crossed🤞 I don’t see why they wouldn’t
I hope they continue with the model line in this direction.
Plastics 👀???

I haven’t picked up any metal models yet, sucks but I’m a bit strapped for funds at the moment so that’s why I’ll be building these forces up slowly 😊
