- In a new series of On the Journey, Kenny Burchard begins to share with Matt Swaim and Ken Hensley the story of his journey to the Catholic Faith.
Kenny starts at the very beginning: from being given up for adoption by Catholic parents, to being adopted by parents who didn't practice religion at all, to growing up around Mormons in Utah and eventually having a "born again" experience in the 1980's that changed everything for him.
It's a great story, and we look forward to sharing more chapters from it over the next few weeks!

What a sweet story!! As a newly confirmed Catholic, I am weeping tears of joy for you.
That was so moving! I teared up. I appreciate you sharing your amazing journey and your gift of talking in such a descriptive and complete manner that allows for picturing it right along with what you’re saying.
I was brought up Catholic and then accepted Jesus in my heart in 1980 at 23 yrs old. Then I entered the world of Protestantism for 40+ yrs.
This February, 2024, I Completely surrendered to God for what church He wanted me to go to. I fully let go and was at total peace that it was in His hands. Within days He revealed to me in my spirit, and with a gasp, I quickly without hesitation went to the nearest Catholic Church (which was dark and empty, but open) and I breathed in the gift God gave me. And to think…. it was right there all along.

Wow Kenny, What a Powerful story of God’s Love for you. How in today’s society parents do not have the faith of their Ancestors. This is why we need to explain to the younger generations that God is Love and they were born at this time and place for a reason and to understand God’s will for them.

I went to the local JW locale with my Latin Vulgate in hand, knocked on their door, then asked the guy who opened -- showing him the Vulgate, have you ever heard about this great Book, the Bible ? Would you like to talk about it with me ?
He slammed the door in my face, and these people have never bothered me since.
I have had similar experiences with Mormons shunning me from learning of my genuine interest in the Scripture.
These people are Ideologues -- not Christians.

Apart from that : the moment of Conversion that you describe is so similar to my own, including the inpouring of divine love, just you were 17, I was 29, though you have the Blessing of having chosen it, as to me God basically gave me no real choice in the matter.

When Kenny’s mom gave him The Bible and saying the control people answer. I thought 💭 of Jonah’s story. Cause Our Lord can command you to do something, even if it’s against your own will. Our Good Shepherd can do search for us any way he want’s to. Plus remembering that he is father, and he doesn’t want us to know everything. Young kids will want to imitate older kids, sibling’s, cousin’s, ect, ect. Yet we can answer as Our Heavenly Father has. It’s not your time yet. Plus even as mom gave The Holy Bible, she was also in search mode as well. Cause Kenny’s mom didn’t want him to go to Mormon Church. There must have been some teachings she definitely knew, that wasn’t true? In the beginning Lutheranism is just a carbon copy of Catholicism without Aspotolic Authority. Perhaps 🤔? Really great journey that Our Lord has for Kenny. Our Lord is just marvelous with each person that listens to his call. God bless You Kenny and your family. 04/11/24.
Good insight Frank! I agree. She had a good and godly impulse rooted in a latent and degraded (though present) faith. God sometimes gets things done with people even if they don’t know how or why.
