Dresden for example is disproportionally insane when it comes to Fans. They are playing in 3. division in Germany. Usually the bigger the team the more fans and participation they have, but there are a lot of exceptions for traditionally big teams that are now playing in lower divisions or just massive cities that don't have other successful clubs nearby. Especially in Germany you have some insane fans in lower divisions.

my mother was born in Dresden 1937 and went to school before her mother moved 1946 to Dortmund with her ... Please take care !!! I really don't want to live there !!! I was 4 [four] as I travelled to Dresden at first to visit the relatives of my Grand-Mum ... now I'm 53 and get a simple question: why are there so many NAZIs in Dresden, not in Leipzig only a few kms awy?! And the time of the "Sammer's" [the former coach and his son] is long ago ... Dynamo Dresden is on "special watch" when they have a match in any other Stadium !!!

They lay the paper(s) on the chair and add an instruction like 'hold up the green paper after excactly 10 mins have passed etc.' People are expected to follow instructons. Especially when you sit in the area where the hardcore fans sit. .All clubs have multiple fan-groups and they make the giant banners. Those groups work together with the club to get them into to stadium and organize everything. Nobody has to smuggle those big flags into the stadium it's allowed. Those things are payed by the fans and sometimes the club too. This is allowed before the match begins so not during the match unless there has been a specific agreement to for example honor a lost legend. The flares and smoke are not allowed in most countries but they just do it anyways. Most of the time this won't happen during the match because you can indeed see nothing.
The club has to pay a penalty fee for every flare/smoke fired for example st pauli fans fired over 160 flares during the derby against hsv and because of that they have to pay a 100.000+ Euro penalty
In Germany the ultra blocks don't car if the match is running. They are not there to watch it they are just there to support their team the best they can. Can watch the match after. I do that every time bc I miss so much in the stadium

The empty parts? to avoid violent battles between the ultras and opposing supporters, they are isolated. Those who have their faces masked are often banned from stadiums for violence and do not want to be recognized and filmed.
The "flags" you refer to is called Tifo, derived from Italian tifosi = passionate supporter/fan. Tifos is created & funded by fans sometimes weeks or months ahead & then coordinated with the club to prepare or set it up, but in general it's the fans who are the driving force, showing their love & support for the club/team.

Choreos are approved by the clubs, sometimes alas also cancelled. The huge flags are not smuggled in. 😊

The Ultras have there own section in the stadium and you can see them as a part of the football team. So the big “flags” are okay to bring and often are put up the night before game starts. And it’s nowadays part of the show.

Minute 4:00 - In Europe, if you go to the stadium in the ultras sector, you're not going there to "watch the game" but to support the team. Thus you know there will be moment you won't be able to watch the game because of smoke, or because you have to keep something in front of you for the coreography, or because of some flag.
If you want to "watch the game" you buy a ticket for a quite and more expensive sector or you watch the game from home on TV

Its not allowed at all. Everyone puts on masks, switches jackets or even tapes brand names on their clothing.

Just in Spain at least 11 people died since the 80's because football related incidents, most of them outside stadiums. 2 of them hit by a flare in separate incidents (one was 13 years old), 1 policeman beaten by dad's children playing in a preteen match, 1 killed by a gun rubber ball from the police, one refree in a shooting from a retreated policeman. All the others were killed by ultras from the rival team, knifed or beaten outside the stadiums.
Flares and fireworks are banned in the stadiums in Spain since 90's and you really can't find any of them nowadays.
The Game of thrones display is a reference to the fact the Club Ittihad Tangier are from the North of Morocco, and contest a fierce rivalry with Tetouan, so they are saying they are the Kings of the North.

Wydad and Raja teams are both from Casablanca and they have a fierce rivalry. There is a great video on youtube of one of them singing a protest song against the government. You should react to it, it's great. Where you see the Ultras sitting in a small area this means the teams are playing away. Ultras are the superfans of the teams and follow them wherever they go to give them support.

Its hard to explain the feeling on this big game days but it is like a festival and a war had a extremely loud and crazy child. Every time I think that this is how the knights felt on the way out to battle.

The best teams are usually because they have a lot of money from sponsors ( middle east) and can buy players.
but the best ultra football . usually from a normal city. and the majority of players are native born in that city. so the whole city supports the team wholeheartedly. and the majority of these stations are owned by the state or municipal governments.
It's the same reason why the best fans in American football are at universities. You cannot do this at a stadium owned or managed by a company.
I've been to a Slavia Prague game and the Ultras are at it all game.
When you see empty seats on either side it’s because those seats remain empty to separate the home and away fans with hopefully a big gap so they can’t throw things at each other.

The Fan Szene here is highly organized by Fanclubs. For the chores they all work together.
The big flags get cut into pieces and glued together in the stadium sometimes but also things like flags for chores get let in by security.
Pyros not so much they all have to get smuggled in.
They're called tifos/banners. The ultras or supporters of the team paint them in large warehouses and bring them in the stadium hours before the match.

Hey, the giant towels will be brought to the stadium before the game. They have permission for that. Such giant ferns are made by a few people over weeks or months. Everything private from the fans. The costs are several thousand euros. Dresden had one over the whole station. So completely over.

there are empty sections in the stadiums to seperate the fans of both teams for security you see the hometeams of several teams in the clips but yes they travel with their teams (for national teams even acros the globe). you are allowed flags so you dont have to hide them, the flares are not allowed but somehow they smuggle them in. ultras often have deals with the stadium so they can prepare the individual pieces. and to change the image they flip the peaces and they have a second image on them. Ultras live and die for their club (literally). Casablanca is in Morocco not in Europe but they do deserve their spot in this clip. the colours are made by pieces of paper not by coats. The Ultras are for the entire teams (teams often have more sports like soccer and basketball. they represent their town not their sport. they do the chants even if they lose. there is a saying the fans are the 12th player in the field (teams consist of 10 field players and the goalkeeper) and thats for a good reason.

A common misunderstanding from North Americans is that these gyus are "sports fans". It is not really like that, the sport plays only a partial role in that - it is more about identity and local patriotism. Unlike in North America, these people think they ARE the actual club. Players come and go after a few years, but these people have been in it for generations. They think they defend the city and the stadion (castle) from invaders. The players and what is going on on the pitch - that is actually a proxy war for them.
Don't forget that you are descendants of the old continent, I hope you will be better. Honestly, most Europeans like Canada more than the USA.

Speaking for all Ultras, I think it can be said that we do it to support the team by creating a thrilling stadium atmosphere - and yeah, of course there‘s a thrill to breaking the rules. But rules are being broken a lot of times each game anyway, so it‘s not like that‘s even that much of a big thing as I‘ve experinced in the past couple of years. Greetings from Vienna :)

The large thing's that you keep calling flags are NOT flag's, they are called banners and they are one large banner as we have them in England as well, my Football club Chelsea fc who come from London sometimes have them at both ends of the Stadium behind the goals. The fire is not fire but flares also there are smoke flares that you can get in different colours. The Dynamo Dresden Football Club colours are yellow, black and white so the fans let off those colours. Football fans here in Europe travel to away games to show their support depending on the size of the away Stadium and their allocation of tickets that their Football club receives from the Football club that they are playing away to. I have travelled as a Chelsea fc fan from London around England to follow the team, I have been to away games with other Chelsea fans with allocations for away matches from 500 to 10,000 and in Europe from 2,500 to 36,000.
