Ok, so not sure if I am a complete idiot or not. I understand that there are no contour maps. But when I start the boat up, travel out. How do you exactly save your tracking. Mine doesn't come up at all. So finding ramps is fairly hard during night time...

Hi you need to install Garmin ActiveCaptain app. On your smart phone From there you can pair your phone to the Garmin and then you will get WiFi. Thou your phone and then you can up date the unite . not sure why you can’t see clear view make sure that unit has clear view
@@MGreenFishing cheers for reply I installed the ActiveCaptain yes. I bought the vivid 9SV +. So I’m sure it should have clear vu yes. I had a striker 4+ cv & never had a problem with it. I’m not sure what the problem is. When I try to customise it the only option I get is quickdraw maps
@@MGreenFishing cheers buddy I was at it for about 6-7 hours trying to sort it out. They had a little screw in the back of it like a little yellow terminal I took it out & it connected instantly. I updated it still no clear vu which is strange. So I don’t know what that could be. Maybe have to connect transducer 1st. Thanks for your help. All the best

Hi. How it woks it records the water you are on to start recording go to contour maps and hit record that’s how it works you have to move over all the water your on
@@MGreenFishing my brother using that in Saudi Arabia sea.( red Sea) .. He didn't study well... So he is struggling with that gps.. He ask me about map update or download... It's still shows yellow colour...... He is ready to download a map.. Or pay for map... But he doesn't know the way... So I asked you... Please clarify...

Hi. You have to use Garmin maps which I don’t own. You can buy Garmin maps and it isn’t worth how little I use it.

They don’t have mapping at all it’s just shows you where you are on a yellow screen no contour maps

@@danmcg4363 that’s odd try factory reset. And next use ActiveCaptain to update the unit

There is no maps you have to use mapping on the unit and it records the bottom and saves it on your unit

Download ActiveCaptain app on phone and make account and then you can link your garmin fish finder and then it will get gps
@@MGreenFishing he did today... But still map yellow color... The software update symbol shows green tick...
