Dont get us wrong. We only choose the foreigners that we support, not all will get the same support she si receiving, especially now that there are social media influencers/content creators who show fake kindness towards Pinoys. The Filipinos are starting to filter the ones who are just faking it for views and subscriptions, simply baiting us for profit & just taking advantage. Barbie is one of a few. She is the real deal. she's genuine in words and actions thats why she is getting a lot of love. Its all about consistency and authenticity ❤

The family culture in the Philippines is strong. We take care of our parents and elderly and even extended family. Of course there’s the odd few who aren’t tight knit and or doesn’t have a good relationship with family but overall we take good care of our own.

So much respect for this lady. She has the heart of a Filipina that had adjusted to the cultures and traditions. She is well love by people in Siargao and the whole country.

I went to Siargao like 5 months ago. Hoping ill be seeing barbie. Unfortunately im not able to. Better luck next time to me. I was also shock the numbers of foreigners there. I felt like im the foreigner in my own counrty 😂. Im not complaining i have a lot of foreigners friends here. Indian family who moved here. Chinese. American teen ager who doing a remote. Job fro the US he still earning dollars. As he mentioned to me he like earning 2000 dollars he lives like a king here in manila. There is also an old man from province of capiz he said he is homeless in the united states getting 800 dollars per month from his retirement. He is barely paying food in the US. Here he has his own decent apartment plenty of food for him self. .

one of the difference on culture wise, is that black liberal americans there gets offended if some white people get braids because it offends their culture...here, we gladly share our culture and say how proud we are about it as long as you don't have any intention to insult/make fun or offend us...we are glad to share it with you...P.S there are also good people in Black Americans community...just saying not all of them...

Just continue doing what u love without disrespecting or stepping to others rights. Some people are just born with shallow and narrow minds. Or they might going through difficult trials in life which affects their mental health and well being.

So happy just watching this and hearing foreigners’ point of view about the country I grew up in. I definitely feel out of place in my own country but hearing your perspectives made me appreciate being here. ❤
Great show.. gosh i missed the live event... I follow island barbie and subscribe and watch her videos. Us Filipinos are generally nice and accommodating people and much so in the rural province where life is simpler and folks just want to live their lives joyfully. My suggestion to you guys if moving to the country is just being humble and respectful - most of the time that works. the locals will love you for that. other vloggers have similar experiences of having locals offer their homes, foods and help you genuinely. I was born in Cebu but live in SoCal and hopefully plan to go back soon and visit Siargao and see Island Barbie personally. God bless

Hi Guys, nice interview/podcast with Barbie. BTW, I heard the word "LADYBOY". Y'know its not a Pilipino thing, it's borrowed from Tourists who've been to Thailand where that word started. Even the word TUKTUK is from Thailand 'coz generally it's called Tricycle in the Philippines.

As an athlete whos getting to competition. Its way to simple to ask for sponsors. We you to visit some offices related to sports either its sports aparel office or ebergy drinks. They will help. You just need to send them letter personally then have meeting of them. One month prior the competition.

my brother in-law's family let people live with them like random people and they create bonds that basically translate into respect when "these people" bounce back in their lives and even come to birthday parties and all to bring gifts and or basically just to be there to celebrate life....they never forget when family was with them during their trying times.
