In the iterator room in Rubicon, you can meet 5P and/or Moon there if you ascend them and get some special dialogue. The dialogue differs depending on whether you've ascended just Moon, just 5P, or both. It, in my opinion, clears up a bit of what The Saint is. I'd love to see you go back and do that!
For those who want to be directly told what Saint is: An echo is chained to the thing that was the reason they were an echo. The farm arrays echo loved sitting and looking out across farm arrays way too much in their life, so they were doomed to continue to do so as an echo. This is a common trend, while we don't know why *every* echo is an echo, the ones we do all are sitting in their place of obsession. So what about Saint? We we know the thing they are obsessed with is max Karma. We know this because the void shows you the thing you want most, before you ascend or turn into an echo depending on if you wanted that thing too much. Saint wanted max karma too much, and now is doomed to be chained to max karma. But what does that actually mean? The echo that likes farm arrays can just look at farm arrays, obviously. But Saint? They are stuck infinitely getting and spreading max karma. Why can they move though? Well who said Echos can't move? Its just that sitting in your favorite spot and watching farm arrays doesn't leave much room for moving. Another echo is the egotistical one. Its stuck by where Ancient's memories of them were stored, thinking about his life forever. Saint however moves around so they can ascend other creatures and themselves get max karma. What about all the super weird shit in the campaign like depths and the iterator dialogue and stuff? Well the answer is none of the campaign is ***real***. Saint experiences it forever, sure, but its not playing out *in real life*. You can extend this reasoning and say that every echo is walking around doing something from their perspective, but that theory gets weird quick. So yea Saint is an echo, and echoes are trapped *forever*, which explains the iterator dialogue in the Rubicon. And again, neither moon nor FP actually said those things, its just what they *would* say.
@@cooly1234 Saint improves their karma, ascends other creatures, most notably - iterators, goes to the depths, ascends a void worm, which causes them to lose all karma and return from the depths and repeat the cycle. @@MadCodex So, they're partially an Echo, as they are "trapped", but it is voluntary on their part, making them not quite an Echo? Reminds me of a saying/quote "you can't know if you're obsessed unless you try to stop", and Saint doesn't want to try to stop.

Certainly fits with the cycle in-game being one of gaining and then purging karma.
This is just my interpretation. Saint gains the power to ascend other beings, even Iterators, pulling them out of the infinite loop and giving them their final cycle. Three things I'm curious on, what happens when you give the pebbles back to pebbles, what happens when you go to Moon after finishing your pilgrimage And is slugcat land still a thing? Edit: can you ascend the iterators?
1. I assume you mean his music pearl? Nothing(but taking it makes him feel sad, so don't do it, got it?) 2. Pretty sure no additional new dialogue is added depending if you have reached Karma 10 or not, just whether it is your first, second, or third time visiting. (She does have a unique piece of dialog if you bring her Pebbles' music pearl though.) 3. We don't know. The path there collapsed some time before Rivulet's campaign, which happened before Saint. But don't worry, Slugcat Land will always exist in our hearts(inspirational speech). 4. You *can* ascend Pebbles and Moon. The 'empty' iterator can in Rubicon is meant for if you do, as they will appear there. You get unique dialog depending if you ascended only Pebbles, only Moon, or both. Hope this answers some questions.
having never played rainworld it was super neat to watch you work your way through the dlc cats! by the time your spikey boi vid came out i noticed how it seemed like the cats/their stories were getting less violent across in-game time, so i was wondering if the saint would hold up and be the last(chronological) cat in the game. Seems like it did! which is super cool. really neat and thematically fitting for the game
There's also an Echo in Submerged Superstructure, getting there as Saint is very very atrocious But it is... somewhat worth it? Maybe, maybe not. It's technically extra dialogue.
You forgot the flavors for the slugcats, so im just gonna make them myself. 1. Gourmand: Caramel 2. Artificer: Black Cherry 3. Rivulet: Blue Raspberry 4. Spearmaster: Grape 5: Saint: Lime

Saint alternative title: Canadian.
This would make sense because it’s very cold, and he is too nice to hurt anyone.
No that wouldn't work because he explodes pancakes with mind
@@treehousegames7903 and you don’t do that?
No, but like... wait no never mind I was under the false assumption that a Canadian would need something to go with their maple syrup.
ascends you with my mind
unsure if you are aware but there is another slugcat in the expansion
46:08 the scav was trying to get the overseer thingy
Awsome, awsome story good job video cult (game developer)
I wanna give saint slugcat a hug it looks so nice and fluffy
Now its time for the strive of the sussy slugcat
The arts for the thumbnail are wayyyy better than actual ingame ones
I've been waiting for this one for a while now.
this is my favourite slugcat by far
25:52 this is the real survivor playthrough
So true
oh shit no sleep cant finish that video skurry uploaded
Remember how talkative pebbles was in.... every other slugcat?
I have been looking forward to this video!
JUST KEEP SWEEMING JUST KEEP SWEEMING
Sweeming
Tis ⨂’ng time
21:00 almost killed me, I coughed for like 5 minutes out of that from laughter
Three things I'm curious on,
what happens when you give the pebbles back to pebbles,
what happens when you go to Moon after finishing your pilgrimage
And is slugcat land still a thing?
Edit: can you ascend the iterators?
1. I assume you mean his music pearl? Nothing(but taking it makes him feel sad, so don't do it, got it?)
2. Pretty sure no additional new dialogue is added depending if you have reached Karma 10 or not, just whether it is your first, second, or third time visiting. (She does have a unique piece of dialog if you bring her Pebbles' music pearl though.)
Cant wait for Inv video and possibly mod videos(Dronemaster, Drought, Beecat, Sporecat, etc)
having never played rainworld it was super neat to watch you work your way through the dlc cats! by the time your spikey boi vid came out i noticed how it seemed like the cats/their stories were getting less violent across in-game time, so i was wondering if the saint would hold up and be the last(chronological) cat in the game. Seems like it did! which is super cool. really neat and thematically fitting for the game
There's also an Echo in Submerged Superstructure, getting there as Saint is very very atrocious
But it is... somewhat worth it? Maybe, maybe not. It's technically extra dialogue.
You forgot the flavors for the slugcats, so im just gonna make them myself.
1. Gourmand: Caramel
2. Artificer: Black Cherry
3. Rivulet: Blue Raspberry
4. Spearmaster: Grape
5: Saint: Lime
Its all snowy and stuff because Moon and Pebbles, and maybe some others nearby are not working anymore. They used to generate enough heat to warm the entire area.
I was looking at the channel 2 hrs ago to see if you uploaded, in the next hour this appeared.. magic
bro dam the chat be a savage, Skurry meeting pebbles and everyone in chat just telling him to take away his pearl to make him sad
45:14 Wholesome Echo
4:10 “surely isn’t not frozen everywhere”
LET'S GOOOO I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE
saints heat mechanic was my favorite part of the campaign, i wish there were more games where you had to experiment like this to keep yourself warm
The king dark is an example.
Oh boy, this will be a good one.
