Thing is, he does so many different styles of music, there's always something to like. Though like my other favourite band, The Fall, there's so much of it! So it might take a while to find my favourite Momus song. I'll just conscientiously listen to whatever I can get my hands on, and like stuff one at a time. The musical styles vary a lot, he's very talented for just one bloke doing all of the music. Which is easier now with a computer, probably not so easy with the old analogue, or analogue-hybrid, studios. Now I'm sure he can do it all with a laptop and a decent USB sound input, with maybe some timecode embedded into his source files. That, and a decent mic and pre-amp can be all it takes! Then beside the music, is the lyrics, and that's where he really shines! Personality and attitude all the way through each one. That's my favourite part, I think, the words. Currently listening to "Marquis of Sadness", pretty far-ahead song for 1991, and very wry and entertaining. Sex leering it's inquisitive head again, as ever.
@@panther105 oh, that's disappointing - i was hoping for something sharper than "no talent no ability". There are specific crirtiques we could have discussed, I thought that could be interesting. That was foolish of me to think however, as your brain activity about the matter wouldn't have been enough to light a lightbulb, let alone formulate a decent opinion
@@panther105 For me, the fact that he still clings to all of the leftist clichés expected of 'outsiders' from the 1970s to the present day - particularly in this age of woke derangement - is disappointing (but also funny - he says he still loves 20th century Soviet architecture!!) but as a songwriter of both words and music, he's a damn genius.
Not a massive fan of his music, but he's a great personality. Definitely has his head screwed on.

How in the hell does Momus look better at 52 than 29?
Yes. Nick looks a bit like Hartley Hare in this clip.
poser
In what sense monsieur?
@@jakobvanklinken Zero talent. Zero ability....
