Hi Linda, I was watching an old video you did on dehydrating veggies and making meals in a Mylar bag. I noticed that Ted Nugent commented on your video. I thought it was fun that he is watching you, learning and preparing. I thought I'd tell you in case you missed it. You always have great videos. Thanks.

You can take your book that is coming apart to Staples or Office Max or Office Depot and have it spiral bound. I have them laminate the front and back cover too so that it is a little thicker. I have done this with several of my paperback type cookbooks.

Thanks for another awesome canning video. Something about seeing all those jars of home canned food is like a comforting hug. We were raised very poor monetary wise, but I remember going in the utility room as a small boy with the walls covered in shelves of freshly canned meats and fruits and vegetables and thinking how rich we were.

I typically just use UA-cam videos for canning recipes, but when I saw your Amish canning book, I remembered my mom bought me a few books my first year I started to can. Low and behold, I have the Amish book!!! The books seemed pretty intimidating back then (3 years ago), but maybe I should dig into them now! Thanks for the reminder!!!

I’m addicted to canning and have gotten most of my inspiration from you and Heather, Kneady Homesteader. Did ground beef this summer (Zaycon of course) and this morning I did Apple Pear Butter! My pantry overflows and it makes me so happy!

Linda, I have canned 150 pounds of russet potatoes. I raw packed them with a little salt. They turned out perfect. The texture was perfect and the taste is great. I got the idea of canning potatoes from you.

Pork loin is the only pork I've been canning because I was getting thick boneless loin chops at a ridiculous price. I raw packed it and it came out beautiful. Tender, moist. I wonder if Canadian raised pork turns out differently when canned.

I just wanted to say I made some French Onion Soup this past weekend for the first time and I loved it. I didn't have any bread in the house so I took some Garlic Parmisian croutons and put over it with some Colby jack cheese and I about died on how good it was. I don't even know what the book recipe calls for but its quick and simple. So I made 4 more quarts just to have in my pantry.

The roast pork in spicy broth is fantastic. I first used the pork bones in the instant pot to make bone broth. Also I've canned the black bean soup about four times. I love it. I wasn't as much of a fan of the French onion soup from this book. My son like it though so I gave it all to him. :)

Hi Linda I love watching your videos and although here in England people have lost the art of home canning I have been canning for the last three years. I don't own a big canner like you have in America and to buy one is so expensive also the postage from the USA is nearly as much as the canner 🙁 but my pressure cooker does just fine I have eaten some things from 2015 and I'm still here but I'm super careful with cleanliness.
I have learned a lot from all you canning ladies over there we don't seem to have offers like you and I have to be choosy about what I can because of cost.
You look really good I know you where on the Weight Watchers diet you look like you have lost a good amount of weight how much have you lost so far whatever it is you look slim.

I love this series! I find it so interesting to see what everyone likes or what was a fail! I have all of those same books. I just made the oven roasted tomato soup (as a matter of fact it is still in my pressure cooker as I'm watching this video!) I taste tested it as well as my husband and we love it. My husband wanted to eat some of it before I could put it in the jars. It is from the All New Ball Canning and Preserving cookbook, I saw Tina from the Welhams Kitchen can it and just had to try it, so glad I did! I plan on making the farmers soup after I get a few other canning projects done. I'm going to try the potatoes and carrots with the onion soup mix as well as plain potatoes this weekend, my husband loves the canned potatoes. Then I'm going to can pineapple and hopefully some pears while they are on sale! Then I will be doing the soups and chili beans I need to get done! Thanks so much for doing these videos! I'm excited to see the onion soup video! That may go on my list as well!

I agree with you on canned potatoes. I canned potatoes and did not like the taste, a waste of time. I bought a dehydrator about a month ago so I am going to dry some instead. I did dry some frozen hash browns.

I did the beef stroganoff by the recipe and it isn't too bad. Next time, I will leave out the tomato paste. I thought it was a weird ingredient, but when I researched, about half the stroganoff recipes I found included it. It adds too much of a tart flavor for me.

Do you ever can soups as raw ingredients? Like a few pieces of par-cooked beef, a few potatoes, a few carrot slices, etc.... with broth and then pressure canned? Also, I've had issues with beef in the past. The meat ends up mealy, for lack of a better word. It doesn't stand up to any sort of stirring once out of the can (like if I want to add it to a soup, it just falls to teeny, tiny pieces). Is there a way to can beef chunks and still be left with something that stays chunky?

I can't believe these are still safe to eat canned in 2011. How long does canning last.

Oh my, this is great!! I just started a channel & people have asked me on my channel, as well as my personal Facebook page, to do canning videos. And I've been asked to teach classes. My video skills leave a lot to be desired, but may I be on the playlist? Or is it just for large established cha?

FYI- I've noticed a lot of canners (not in the collaboration), have also started to post videos of what they will and will not can again, and have given a shout out to Linda starting the idea!

i'm behind too. i'm working on 60 lbs of apples and 50 lbs of pears i'll be canning pie filling, dried apples, sauce ect. ..they got moved into the house from the cold front porch. because husband brought in an apple to show me, it had the cutest little teeth marks in it. some mouse had a lovely organic dinner. i put the apple back out so he could keep eating it. i'm such a sap for animals.

I’m so excited to see what you have canned! I also have a video showing the things I’ve canned. I’d love to be part of your playlist. ua-cam.com/video/waDdhxuZll8/v-deo.html
