    This is a living history attraction. These people are costumed interpreters, basically actors who carry on activities in a historical manner. They don't live like that. There are places all over the US where the same thing happens, I'm surprised anyone thinks otherwise.

    After learning from the comments that the so-called traditional village shown in the video is an open-air museum, it finally makes sense to me why the "villagers" in the video reminds me so much of the staff working in a theme park. Because they ARE staff members working in a theme park!

    i think tou might have misunderstood. this village is a museum. a sort of collection of buildings that have often been taken down and rebuilt here. no one lives there regularly. the church you were in was actually picked apart from its original location in “Gol” and brought there nd rebuilt. ans a replica was put up in the original spot.

    It's an open-air museum. There's no need to travel to Norway to see it. These types of museums are all over Europe. EDIT: Also, if this was a real town, people would not speak fluent English and they would not wear 200+ years old clothes (style).

      Why wouldn’t people speak fluent English in a real Norwegian town???
      We start to learn English in school at six years old at the same time we start to learn how to read and write.
      It’s very rare that Norwegians don’t speak English . Some might be to shy to speak , but even my grand mother born in 1922 was taught English in school , so even in the oldest generation most people understand English and are able to communicate in some way.

    My in-laws have a small summer farm in Tallberg Sweden. It is a time capsule from the 1950's. They kept it in original form: timber house, pump well, outhouse, cold cellar, wood shed, hay shed, tool shed, cow barn and workshop. I love being there! It is very real and very much in use by our family to this day. Hey!

      Look through the comment section. Obviously they don't live like this anymore. It's an open air museum and you'll find them in almost all european countries for instance Denmark has 'Den Gamle By i Aarhus' (The Old Town of Aarhus). Norway is one of the most advanced and richest societies in the world so even in the small villages (which people actually live in) they wear The North Face, Canada Goose and so forth, live in top-of-the-line-houses, drive expensive cars and snow scooters. Don't believe the hype but go there non the less you'll find that contemporary village life is as exciting as museum exhibitions.

      It's located near Oslo the capital. Also you should check out The Old Town in Aarhus in Denmark if you come to the Scandinavian region :)

    I like their clothes and stuffed and how they live there.😍❤ I hope someday I see it personally.❤ They are so eco-friendly, I haven't seen any plastic involved.

      It's because it's an open air museum in Oslo showing life 1500-present day. The villagers are actors. And the buildings are dismantled from their original locations around the country, and rebuilt in the museum park. The official museum website: norskfolkemuseum.no/en. I don't like how purposefully misleading this video is being..

      It's a museum in Oslo: norskfolkemuseum.no/en/. Villagers are actors. Buildings are dismantled, moved and rebuilt here from all across the country, making it an agglomerate of different places. You can find open air cultural history museums like this in most European countries.

    Looks like a variant of Conner Prairie. People in this village probably speak better English than at Conner Prairie. Hint, Conner Prairie is an outdoor museum of the past outside of Indianapolis.

    I love the Norwegians cabin making skills. I enjoyed this video very much. The last thing I expected to see was a red vw bug !!! WOW. I wonder who owns it ? As an owner of one myself I am bias 😀👍

    • @euerz
      @euerz 4 роки тому

      No single person actually owns it, as it's museum property: norskfolkemuseum.no/en. This video is purposefully misleading for some reason.

    This is an outdoor museum, people stopped living like this generations ago. This person Sandven must be greatly miss-informed about Norway.
