Ron Hardy at the music box on Michigan in Chicago. Puddles of sweat and ear ringing at 5 am leaving. Singing da, da, da, dilly. da, da all the way home home. Good memories of 1989. This music is a blessing to know.
Saw them at “The Chocolate Jam” in RDK. They were the first act to perform and brought the crowd to their feet. Their lead singer was Awesome! Cameo, Raydio, Bootsie Collins and Parliament Funkadelic were all on the show. George Clinton turned it out about 12:30 a.m.
Love this albums coverart. Especially with Sir Nose peeking in through the window of what I assume must be the mothership. P-Funk music is truly timeless.
Unfortunately I can't quite tell who the bassist is other than it is either: Rodney "Skeet" Curtis or Rick Gilmore or Billy Nelson The rear of the album cover says there are three bassists and does not break it down, by song. The record itself, says, Clinton, Ford, Worrel, and does not credit the bassist. LAME !
If you know skeets style you can tell all the songs he did you got to pay attention like gc says Every musician in the mob let it be known it was them bootsy was the most recognizable bassist
I actually wish that all of the women of P- funk would have a summit in Omaha Nebraska with a funky replacement band and just be damned and go out on tour for themselves- whoever is still around!
