Key West Firehouse Museum looks so beautiful and thanks for the great information with all the history, stories, and minor details. The bum Farto exhibit and especially the mystery. Thanks, for the great information about the "THE KEY WEST FIREHOUSE MUSEUM & THE MYSTERIOUS BUM FARTO "
What an incredible journey into Key West's rich history! The Key West Firehouse Museum offers a captivating glimpse into the evolution of firefighting techniques, and the Bum Farto exhibit adds a thrilling twist with its tales of controversy and mystery. Thank you for sharing this fascinating video, it left me wanting to explore even more!
The name Bummer Farto just cracks me up. A very sweet museum. I dig the history showcased here. The style of the old firetrucks look better than the ones we use today. Obviously not as efficient but, that sleek look. It's actually amazing to see how far fire fighting has come.
It is amazing how fire tech has advance to keep them safer. Yes, Bum is pretty funny. Also wore a red velvet leisure suit (in Key West heat?) and drove a lime green convertible with leopard print seats from the stories we’ve heard from locals. Larger than life!
Wow, what an amazing tour! It's so awesome seeing all the old fire stuff. My local fire hall sometimes has an open house. But nothing like this! Amazing video, my friend 😊
Wow what an interesting tour! Quite scary to see the old equipment that they used to protect themselves while firefighting - I'm glad there have been so many advances. The water grenades were pretty cool though!
This is a very cool museum. I think I have only been inside a fire station for a tour once. There is an one setup on the MLK Historic Site here in Atlanta. But I love how you shared the story and where some people think he may have escaped to Costa Rica. And cool that they have a 9/11 exhibit inside.
I remember Bum Farto and his ever present cigar coming out to our little league games. I also remember when he disappeared the rumor mill was rampant, that he had gone down to Costa Rico to the property that Manny James owned. But most of us knew he had gone to swim with the fishes.
Yes, we spoke to a documentarian off camera that claimed to have tracked him to Costa Rico where he lived into the 1990s. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I’m not sure what his research process was though.
@@FittingInAdventure I’m really surprised then because from what I had heard he owed someone really bad a lot of money, and figured he was a goner. Key West in the 70’s and 80’s was the wild west. A lot of bodies showed up on Card Sound Road and a lot of KWPD boys ended up incarcerated, in fact it got so bad that the PD, MCSO and Marine Patrol wouldn’t let any Conchs join because of the Bubba and Cuz culture.
I'm always a fan of visiting quirky or interesting historical museums - this would definitely be one I'd add to my list. I don't think I'd be visiting the haunted areas though! I bet Farto is probably living life somewhere maybe he's now leading a local cartel in another country and heading up the firehouse there. Potentially under an alias!

This museum looks very nice. Full of heritage and the history of the world trade center makes this video very interesting.
I had been to Key Wets long time ago but missed the museum, great to see it from your lens.
Make a trip back! We have a lot of Key West content coming

Yes, the old equipment didn’t offer much protection.

He’s be over 100 years old, but locals have GREAT stories of you find one and listen. Not safe for UA-cam but great stories. 😆
