- How to change the engine air filter in a 2015 to 2020 Honda Fit. The car in the video is a 2016 model, but the process is the same for all 3rd generation Fits. This process requires no tools.

I've already done this once before on my Fit, but thought I'd check out a video before I did mine again today, in case there is something in the procedure that I may have missed.
One thing that I didn't remember was seeing a tab, but since the filter won't sit flush turned the other way, I don't think it would be possible to install it wrong.
The top of my air cleaner housing did not come off easily at all! The rubber gaskets felt like they had fused! Really had to work to get it loose. My old filter had 4500 miles on it, & looked almost brand new! Same thing the last time I changed it.
The only thing that I would add is that it might be a good idea to use a shop vac to clean inside & around the housing, & then wipe the housing & cover with a slightly damp cloth or sponge, to get all of the dirt and debris. (Dirt in or around the housing cover could fall onto the new filter, & dirt might fall into the housing when the old filter is pulled out.) But then I am a perfectionist!!! lol 🙂🙃
Also watch that the tops of the spring clips don't separate & fall down in the engine bay! They have to be tugged on pretty hard for that to happen, but I've seen it happen before on this type of spring clip.
