Gino is a legend. I imagine the experience of being on this show would improve tenfold by having a professional cook on the team.

BigJohn As a vegan I think this is not wrong because they are eating the rat it's protein and they eat meat but the fact that people now think it's acceptable to kill rats or anything like that without consideration - I'm just glad that Gino was there to kill it humanely

I’d be eating every living creature that crossed my path apart from humans ofc. I’d be walking around with a pocket full of crickets, snacking on them like fruit and nuts.
The outcry over this is amazing!
1. The rat lived a better life than any battery farmed poultry/cattle etc.
2. Gino killed the rat as humanely as he could.
3. Wild animals generally end up suffering far more than this in the end anyway.
4. They actually ate the rat out of necessity.
5. If you watch the show and moan about this but don't bat an eyelid at all the animals that die for their testicles to be served up, or indeed all the insects that must get crushed to death, then you're just a plain moron.
6. It's not "disgusting" you cretins. They didn't find the rat in a London sewer did they. It's in the jungle!
Note: I'm not a vegetarian but I'm not whinging about a rat being eaten either.

3. The point is the rat wasn't suffering at that time.
4. Hahaha. Understand what necessity means. They are on a tv show where they get food daily (even if just rice), if they really needed more food, they were not held in the jungle against their will.
5. I'm not moaning about this, just wanted to answer your points. However personally I do think all of that is wrong and unnecessary including eating 'regular' meat.
6. It's pretty disgusting, even if the animal was clean and disease free. Same goes for eating all animals.
P.s. I'm not particularly outraged at this isolated incident. But in an ideal world no animals should suffer, and one day humans will look to minimise animal suffering rather than exploit it for financial gain.
