thanks you. This is the best video I ever watch. I hope you can have more video in radiation heat transfer also. But I have 2 questions and need your opinion :1) Why we did not do new part under 2 part,2 bodies so that, the contact region under connection is not appeared. 2) Why we need used cut cell mesh because of both have same geometry form as box? If I have fluid is box and solid is cylinder, did I need do the same mesh cut cell? Thanks in advanced.
Hello Sir,
Thank you for such an informative video. But sometimes even I name the domains correctly. I'll end up having additional walls and those walls make it difficult to use parameters to automate the simulation. Is there any way we can resolve that issue. Please help me with this.
Thanks you
One of the best videos out there! Thank you.
Thank you for watching!
@@AdvancedEngineeringTutorials hello sir, I am doing thermal management system of lithium ion battery as my final year project, can I use conjugate heat transfer approach for my project and another doubt is why don't you fill the outer box with fluid using "fill" command.
A great video. I want to add chemical reaction along with it. Can it be done ?
Thank you for making the video.
Can you make a video on simple model of CHT with combustion as heat source to the walls of combustion chamber ?
Hello, Thanks for your videos, I would like to know how can I establish Heat flux as boundary condition over the solid surface without decoupling with the fluid zone? If you could help me I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks in advance.
Hello Sir Thanks for the tutorial
Can you share the specs of your system or can guide us about cfd hardware.
I'm going to build i9 10900k 10C/20T, 3.7-5.3 GHz.
Will, it works fine?
Thank you so much for the video🦋
I need assistance with the meshing. I cannot see the 'assembly meshing' option on the mesh details outline view tabs. How do I make it to appear?
these are the tutorials that trully hepls! great video!
Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment.
Hello sir. Thanks for this great video. Do you have an idea how to conduct a conjugate heat and mass transfer simulation? I mean suppose your solid body here is wet.
You need to define a thin layer of water on the solid body and consider evaporation and mass transfer. I could be a very complex and computationally intense problem.
Make some more of these. I am currently learning cfd / cfx from different tutorials.
Sure, please subscribe to our channel an let us know topics you are looking for.
will we get the same results if we use one fluid body? just subtract another from one and apply HEAT FLUX to inner faces?
That is correct for the fluid side. CHT is mostly used to identify temperature distribution in the solid side. For example you are cooling a chip using a fan and you need to identify the temperature distribution on the chip to analysis the stress and other things. If you do not need the solid side in your problem, you do not need to use CHT.
Excellent video tutorial.
if its ok can i know the optimal model and conditions that is required to get accurate results in the analysis of a heat sink using conjugate heat transfer?
Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment. In CFD there no optimal solution, it depends on your available computational power and resources, you can then optimize your mesh size, time step and solution method based on the time and accuracy you need for a specific project.
Hi
Do have a full article or report of this simulation?
Great and helpful work.
I tried to do the same thing, I have three cubes, the small is the heat source inside the biliding, inside a large cube that presents the atmosphere..... I can't find a good result.
Could you clarify the problem? Where is the wrong results?
@@AdvancedEngineeringTutorials I don't have symmetry around the second cube.
@@asmaa540 As I understood, the second cube is the building, this can be because of the mesh quality and size. If you have large cells that are not symmetric that can be an issue. If you know that you have symmetric geometry and flow, why don,t you just simulate half of the system and reduce the mesh size to get better results.
Please let me know if I can help more.
Can you help me?
I'm trying to simulate a geometry similar as yours. It's a tunnel with a piece of wood inside and the goal is wood drying, forced convection with hot air flowing through the tunnel.
I did everything you did in the video but my simulation didn't work, it seems that my mesh interfaces are not being connected.
Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment. Are you making a single part from the bodies in the Design Modeler?
@@AdvancedEngineeringTutorials on Ansys workbench, always when I start a geometry project, it opens the Space Claim and I'm not sure how can i do this in this software.
@@kkggff1 Instead of double-clicking on the geometry block, just right click on that and choose the Design Modeler instead of space claim. I will try to explain in the next video how to do that.
Hey, while using subtract boolean, the bodies are becoming 1?? What can i do for this not to happen!?
Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment. Check the boolean options. Set the keep tool body to yes.
in the fluent setup, why there is no mesh interface option below the boundary conditions?
Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment. There is no interface option because we chose different and easier interface definition. Check this video for more details:

Nice, unbelievable fast repond, Thx a lot sir.
Hello, i am unable to do cutcell best in the 2022 version. i already tried changing the setting by checking th "unsupported features" under apperance. the assembly meshing appears but it has error while generating the mesh. can u help me with this plssss :(
While plotting the temperature contour of the fluid domain, by specifying the user specified range, did it not change the result completely? Since the max temperature is around 3266K?
Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment.
That is right. Two points here:
1- The simulation is only for learning purposes, and that high temperature might never happen in any engineering problem.
2- Changing the user defined temperatures, will not change the results, will change the color map and the range of coloring from blue to red based on the defined min and max temperature.
Please let me know if that is not a good enough answer and I can explain more.
@@AdvancedEngineeringTutorials Yes, thankyou for the explanation, the range is just for better visualization as far as i can comprehend..
hello sir, i am trying to simulate heat transfer in plate fin heat sink in ansys fluent. I am able to see convective heat transfer from solid to fluid but there is no variation of temperature on fin walls. the entire body is of showing at same temperature. how can we see temperature variation at fin walls. plese help
Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment. First, try a very low thermal conductivity for the fin to make sure that you see the temperature difference so you can see your setup is correct. Then, in the contour setup, chose only fin as the body not fluid. You can also set the range manually in the contour setting to see the temperature gradient in the fin. Please let me know if this was helpful.
What Kind of algorithm did you use to solve?
Hello! is it possible to add a heat flux in a specific face of the cube? for example, i'm trying to simulate a heat sink for a CPU, so the heat flux is coming from the CPU to heat sink through the bottom face, how do i set that heat flux?
thanks for the video!
Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment. Can you let me know if you will include the CPU in the simulations? Or you just want to have effect of CPU on the heat sink?
@@AdvancedEngineeringTutorials Hi! I am also doing something similar. I will not include the CPU in the simulations just want to study the effect of CPU on heat sink. So I would like to apply a certain wattage to one face of the cube.
Thanks a lot!
@@VasanthS So select the wall and define the heat flux based on W/m^2 on that wall. Or you can define a cube as the CPU and define a volumetric heat source for that in the cell zone condition.
Do you have idea how make Twin screw compressor and Flow simultion
Could you please be more specific? Are you looking to simulate with a moving mesh?
How to assign temperature to the aluminum block and also how to see the outlet temperature??
Hi, thank you for watching and thank you for your comments. Do you want to see the contours or just temperature? You can use report definition to capture average temperature at outlet.
Defining temperature for the block is in the wall boundary conditions when you enable energy equation you should see the temperature in the boundary condition definition.
thanks for this man.
Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment. You are more than welcome.
if I want to do the opposite, Transfer heat from fluid to solid, should i follow the same methods ?
Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment. Yes, just define the fluid hotter than the solid. It is solving the same equations and your boundary condition will determine the direction of heat transfer.
have you done it...because i also want to do it but not getting proper results...
@@abhaypareek2610 yes. I did exactly the same that same what the guy told me to do ( same thread). For me it worked. What error u are getting..?
Hello! Are there any equation that can i solver this Energy source?
Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment. Could you please explain your question more?
Did you get the drawing in this video from a subway?
