- It’s certainly easier to make assumptions about people than it is to spend time getting to know someone. We wanted to put assumptions to the test to see what we're missing out on because we're so busy assuming we already "know" a person. Join us as we discover why you should never judge a book by it’s cover in our series, Reverse Assumptions.
We are all conditioned with certain biases. In this experiment, we challenged these biases by asking people to make assumptions about their partner's appearance without ever actually seeing their partner. When they flipped around to finally face each other, they were shocked by how wrong they were.

Agree, it isn't about how many people you have shown as friends on social media, where it seems to be a competition...it is the number of people you could call at 3am when something has gone seriously wrong and you could count on them to come to your assistance...I have 4 or 5 people like that, they are real friends and they could call me at 3am and I would be on the way!

As a teen who got bullied when I was younger. I can tell you that it is such a terrible thing. Not only does it hurt you then but sometimes it can hurt who you are in the future. I got bullied for my race and my weight. It really changed how I look at myself now. Please don't bully others. If you are being bullied, don't be afraid to speak up like I was.

As someone else who was bullied intensely throughout my entire school life, specifically middle school. I love this, I feel like students/teachers should organize something like this in schools. Where you sit back to back with another student and just talk. Sometimes it's easy to judge when you're having a conversation face to face. I feel like students would find a lot of commonalities. Especially for example a "popular" kid and an "outcast", in the end, they just want to be themselves.
Idk why teens worry about being popular so much. Trust me that no one is popular anymore after highschool and it never mattered anyways. Just be yourself and you will make more genuine connections.
coming from someone who had literally no friends in high school and still doesnt have any in college (i hate people who are like "i dont have any friends.. only like 3" like ok) its just really upsetting to not have someone. Fortunately I have a boyfriend now and he is my best friend so im okay, but until i met him i just thought something was wrong with me. i still do sometimes because i do everything in my power to make friends and still dont make any. when i hung out with my bf and his friends (they all live in a different state) i just felt so happy and was like, wow, this is what its like to have friends. all they were doing was playing soccer but it just felt nice to be with people for a change.
idk i guess you just wont get it unless youve been there. it's different for everyone.

Jennifa Loranz I did school online! I returned for a semester in junior year and quickly went back to doing it online because it wasn’t working out friends wise. I’m glad I had the privilege of doing school online, but it definitely didn’t help me make any new friends. At least I was comfortable at home and made friends through video games and fandoms
@@blazereho811 don't try so hard to make friends, just keep studying, enjoy time with your boyfriend and socialising with his friends when you get the chance and just relax.
Do things that interest you and be yourself eventually you will find a friend or more and it will happen naturally.

I know that term is really generic but I personally believe that God gives some of us certain gifts. I still remember the apartment I lived in as a 3yo. My mom thinks I had an imaginary playmate but thinks it was more. I even remember my Kindergarten teacher, the room, playing dodge ball, a game that should be outlawed! I was pretty much invisible, a dark eyed, dark haired and what seemed too much hair on my arms while my brother was cherub-faced blue eyed and fair hair that got the attention even while I stood right beside him as the lady behind the register fussed over him, giving him candy. My hand was clasped around the stroller handle and I know I looked down at my shoes, my dress, my mother's camel coat as I needed to make sure I was still there! A former classmate in Jr high had posed a question on Facebook about memories and wrote at great length as I am now and suddenly, the invisible girl had a whole lot of people coming by my page as though they wondered, "Who is that?" as their memories were jarred to things they had forgotten. I just opened the lid. Earlier I was texting with my son when he shared a message with me of someone who asked if he'd ever lived in Orlando, telling him I was her supervisor at Ticketmaster, not sure I'd remember her. At this point, miss, what do you think? Correct! I'm sorry for writing so much but sometimes, Spirit moves me to do so. I'd noticed you were wiping tears away. I know it isn't easy being a teen, especially with people hiding behind a computer, a cell phone and even the "icon" of an anime character. Even as an adult, after leaving a comment about the hearing for Dr Ford and Kavanaugh, 44 responses: You are a disappointment. You are a disgusting looser (his spelling) You must be drunk. Xitlaly, btw I knew someone by that name, there are good days, some not so great no matter your age. I am "old" but my head thinks 20-something but a whole lot smarter. Crying is good for you as it cleans the windows to your soul. Always be aware. Be kind. Knowledge is power. Learn something new everyday. As if you don't have enough to learn in school, right? If something doesn't feel right to you, don't let anyone push you into something you don't want to do. Go with your instincts. It must be strange to get such a message from a total stranger. I am very social but also really shy, because I was bullied from grade 1 to 10. I'm in grade 11 right now and I don't know if the bullying is going to stop this year but I hope so.
Actually I am not just shy, I have social anxiety and panic. I had to move from my home country because of my bad experiences.

These are always so cool. I was never that mature at that age I don't think...but I'm old so a lot has happened in the world that makes kids grow up faster. I am legally blind and my eyes look funny. I would not say I was bullied per se, but I was overlooked and never seen as any type of competitor. In the end, I did better than many of my classmates and that was enough consolation for me. I have a 5 year old Granddaughter who just started Kindergarten. I hope I live long enough to talk to her seriously about bullying.

People assume I'm mixed or sometimes even Hispanic because I have lighter skin- I guess, wear my hair straight/wavy, and talk "white" or "proper."( I'm full black. Not that my ethnicity, how I speak, or what I wear matters anyway.) People assume I'm much younger than I am because I'm not the trendiest person and my body is finally starting to fill in. (I just turned 22.) People assume I'm spoiled, wealthy, and ignorant because of my parents backgrounds. (I moved out at 18, dropped out of college several times, but I make ends meet because I'm hard-working.) So that's me.
