Our local electric company had a huge campaign to reduce water usage. The emohasis was on how to save water without making life difficult. It worked. People reduced the water use by almost 25%. Wonderful. But now the water company had to increase rates because reduced use equals reduced income for the company and they needed to keep the users from keeping the money they saved by reducing usage.
I live in Sydney, and last Winter we were told the coming summer would bring hot and dry conditions. Thankfully, their predictions were incorrect. Yesterday, we had a month's worth of rain in one day!

@twig3288 chess isn't a sport, it's a game. One thing has nothing to do with the other. No-one disputes that women can compete in certain fields, but in top tier male dominated sports (football, rugby, basketball etc) men are far more skillful.
There are ways to renationalise the water companies without it costing a fortune- you can do what they did to renationalise the East Coast rail line (where Richard Branson was basically forced to hand it over in the furlough scandal). Basically, you fine the hell out of them for the criminal behaviour of dumping sewage into the water supplies, until they have no choice but to hand it back to the state. This would be a generous offer, considering water companies have not done what they were contractually obliged to do when they bought them in the first place- the deal was done with the promise they would fix the Victorian pipes. Not only have they not fulfilled this obligation, but they have been poisoning the water supplies. They have been stealing money from us for 50 years- it's time they paid back their debt to society (preferably in prison). The only reason the government hasn't taken this step is because crooked politicians are protecting their mates who have made a lot of money screwing over the British public.
The water companies want £40 from each customer to help sort out the sewage problem. Surely any company that causes a disaster for nature should solve the problem themselves by not paying shareholders huge dividends. Either that or give them massive fines that would force the shareholders to actually accept the responsibility. But this country seems a little one sided toward the rich. (Or making their friends rich - as with the PPE that was useless but was not returned for a refund)

I would like to point out, that women are just as skillful as men, in sport. The difference is speed and strength.
No they're not. There isn't, or ever has been a woman skillful as someone like Lionel Messi, Michael Jordan, Roger Federer, or any top level male athlete.
@andrewmawdsley3512 BS. But you boys have your love fest with each other, ( covert homosexuality). Women's soccer and tennis are far more enjoyable to watch than the men's. Women's tennis has lots of really good rallys (unlike the men's which is mainly serve and return,) and men's soccer is all about falling over, pretending to be hurt and having a temper tantrum.
You only need to see how many of the top international Chess champions are women.
@twig3288 chess isn't a sport, it's a game. One thing has nothing to do with the other. No-one disputes that women can compete in certain fields, but in top tier male dominated sports (football, rugby, basketball etc) men are far more skillful.

There are ways to renationalise the water companies without it costing a fortune- you can do what they did to renationalise the East Coast rail line (where Richard Branson was basically forced to hand it over in the furlough scandal). Basically, you fine the hell out of them for the criminal behaviour of dumping sewage into the water supplies, until they have no choice but to hand it back to the state. This would be a generous offer, considering water companies have not done what they were contractually obliged to do when they bought them in the first place- the deal was done with the promise they would fix the Victorian pipes. Not only have they not fulfilled this obligation, but they have been poisoning the water supplies. They have been stealing money from us for 50 years- it's time they paid back their debt to society (preferably in prison). The only reason the government hasn't taken this step is because crooked politicians are protecting their mates who have made a lot of money screwing over the British public.
Your right but our government is far to corrupt.
The water companies want £40 from each customer to help sort out the sewage problem. Surely any company that causes a disaster for nature should solve the problem themselves by not paying shareholders huge dividends. Either that or give them massive fines that would force the shareholders to actually accept the responsibility. But this country seems a little one sided toward the rich. (Or making their friends rich - as with the PPE that was useless but was not returned for a refund)

All essential services should be free to the public as they are given to us free from nature and it is sheer greed that anyone should make money out of them! This includes Water, Electricity, Gas, that should only have a very small maintenance fee to cover the delivery systems! Gas service vans have on their sides "Your Gas! Our network" so they are admiting that we own the gas! not them!

You think the only cost for those things is delivery? 😂😂😂 How do you think water becomes cleaned for use? How do you think gas is obtained? Electricity? You think it’s just laying around and the only cost is to deliver it? Did you go to school?
For all Humza Useless being a worthy winner of the plank, lets not forget that truly infamous hate law was only passed due to the backing of other political parties in Scotland, Labour for one. And does anyone think that once in power, Labour will not seek to pass a similar monstrous law in England. A law against 'Islamophobia' spreading its tentacles anyone? I would take issue with Rafe on the Thames being the cleanest that goes through a city I can name four in Scotland that will be far cleaner than the Thames! The DEE & the DON, the TAY, & the CLYDE!
On the Union Flag. ALDI the German owned supermarket chain proudly display it on all their trucks as they are using it as a marketing ploy as they buy as much home grown produce as they can!
