This looks like it's going to be quite a project. It appears to be a nice kit. Looking forward to seeing you build this one, John. Looking forward to your first build video of this famous ship. See you then.
I have the 1:350 Trumpeter kit, I can't wait to view this build. I believe it is going to be a gorgeous looking model, especially with the lines the the Prinz Eugen has.
Really thorough unboxing of what should be a magnificent model. Being new to wooden ship building this kit is probably above my current skill level but I'm sure I will get as much enjoyment out of watching you build it as I would myself.
I've made this ship from mpc 1/600 scale kit. I think this is one of my favorite ship designs Scharnhorst and Gneisenau are my other favorites. The ships are just a wonderful design given the restrictions imposed to their creation.
I built the original Hatchet Bismark (plank on frame) and HMS Hood and would love to have a go at this although it looks like they don’t deliver to the UK☹️
That is goinng to be a great build! I wonder if you are going to adjust the bow to the "atlantic" type, i know i would. I've got several Occre models, Locomotives and ships, very clear instructions special boxes to keep the fittings, i wish you great succes on this one!
Hi John, relatively new to your channel, loving the content, what does this kit retail for?, I live in Australia and it looks like it will be expensive.
@@Johnbuildsiconic Will be following this build, I have a 1/200 scale Hatchet Bismarck that I need to finish, yes it the part work model, been sitting on my shelf for years, never got around to doing it, lost interest.
Going to be an interesting build! From the preview video I just watched, the WOOD DECK SHOWN LOOKS OUT OF SCALE - way too wide planks! What do you think? Check out the Laser etched/cut wood veneer deck that's out there for the Trumpeter 1-350 Prinz Eugen. This looks like a big oversight in this OCCRE Kit! What do you think?
I missed the first few minutes of the live chat John, so I missed what year this kit represents. Looking at the paint scheme on the box, it looks to be early '40's ?
@@Johnbuildsiconic what I was getting at, is that the trumpeter kit depicts the Prinz Eugen in the 1945 scheme, after the U.S. took possession of her. Is this kit depicting her when she made the Channel dash with the Bismark? Or does it leave it to the builder to interrupt as they see fit?
This is a fine looking kit will be looking forward to see how it goes
Thank you Stephen
Looks like a great kit, I can't wait to see you start building it John

The Prinz Eugen is a very nice Model. I built this from Hachette 👍👍
Hi mario, I wish there was a lot more choice of 1/200 wooden battleship
WOW!!! This class of ship is my favourite of all the German naval vessels. This looks like it is going to be a wonderful build to follow.👍😉
thank you al, the art of wooden ship building will always be the most anjoyable

Como posso comprar um navio deste para mim moro no Brasil estado do Acre
Hi there is a link in the videos description where you can order the kit, thank you
John, to paraphrase the words of the Taco Bell chihuahua, “I tink we’re going to need a bigger workshop!”
Very True luis, I feel very restricted sometimes in the space I’m working
Where are the numbers on the pieces? In the manual are numbers but not in the pieces.
I added the numbers to the pieces myself, from the parts list pictures

Hi John the kit retails between £400 to £450 so around 750 dollars

Hi I’ve already built the deck with thousands of smaller deck planks, you can the process in a later video

@@jeffhardick we just build the kit, too how she would have looked on entering service. then it could be modified to suit the modeller
