I recently got a 10 acre parcel and have been working on putting multiple food sources in. Land surrounding unused, lots of deer activity on my land even daylight. Don’t let anyone tell you a small parcel not huntable because it is when you have the best food around

Food is king for me then cover better than any neighbor. Bill I drill in beans and then drill in corn into the beans..yep.
I am the destination Food source while neighbors have corn piles.
My Iowa farm had cover and no food and thus not many deer. Saw one booner one day but had 150 acres of cover and 52 acres open but no food.
Btw my farms now don't get harvested it's all about the deer.

Been doing more grains later in year seems to draw them in. No ag in my area so when frost kill off most food I pick up more deer. Had 14 a night hitting plots thru winter. Mostly does and fawns. One mature buck

Just remember when dealing with the government that you will have problems and that the government will control all the processes and can change it when ever they want to.

What's Bill going to use for food plot seed? I know you mentioned in one of your videos you were going to focus more on late season food sources. Brassicas and grains? I noticed on my land brassicas don't work very well

Has anyone tried cutting trees off at knee height for new growth shoots? If so what tree and size did you try or have success with.

Great info. Bill the "water hole" excellent addition on any property here in s.e. Mn. I use 100 galloon water tank I have3 on my 40 acres deer barely touch them during summer but hit them pretty hard come fall especially during the rut....the skankier the water the better

When you plant the food source like corn or beans: do you expect the deer to eat all the food or just some and then you sell the rest on the commodity market?

Low value timber is high value for wildlife. Keep that in mind. Foresters are around for foot lumber to make money.

I'd love to know how you set up a farm for hunting if it's got cattle on it I've got 300 acres leased that has another hundred that joins it that I can hunt landowner said I could have it from now on if I wanted it but those cows oh my goodness everywhere they go everywhere in the woods in the fields on the hills on the ridges they're everywhere can't do any food plots really can't put corn out to get inventory So I just put my cameras in spots where I think they're going to be It's a little harder to get inventory that way but it seems to be working all right I've gotten several pictures of some very large bucks.
