The Niger Delta, a war for crude oil
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 чер 2024
- After half a century, oil has become the cause of corruption, kidnapping and civil war in the Niger Delta. Black gold has awakened the most insatiable appetites and caused the largest oil spill in the history of Africa.

I was part of this fight and I’m proud
Respect
"WAS part of this fight...?" Why are you not part of it now? Why did you quit?
The fight is that the oil money is not brought to the benefit of the pepple and you can see that man risking his life to refine the crude, because the oil company and government is not letting him enjoy the benefits of oil from his land ...No water no light, no roads, no good health care and so on ..that's the sad reality.
What those foreign companies are doing is abominable. And they take it all, devastating the environment utterly and leaving a cut for the elite such as the Dantatas, the Indimis, and the rest. It is greed of the worst kind and it baffles the mind to behold.
These poor people getting exploited shame😢 imagine profiting from all that oil in return they leave such a disaster no infrastructure nothing shame
Tak to wygląda na całym świecie …….
this is one of those documentary that forever stick with you, images you were never shown before.
Makes you wonder how many other place like this exist.
This documentary is the best i have seen
As a Nigerian i defend the people's struggles, they're being abused and exploited by the British oil companies like shell etc without any benefits ti the host companies.
When shell threatened the Jonathan led administration of leaving the country, the government quickly pleaded with them to stay sending soldiers to attack it's own people so sad
Without the British it would be no spoken or written language no water and no medicine no medical supplies no form of money sub saharan west Africans still live in mud huts when Roman's had huge megalithic stones statues buildings technically advanced over 2000 years ago the average IQ in sub saharan west Africa is 67-70 so before u regurgitate something some half wit marxist trained fake professor said to push a narrative in propaganda know real history and facts🤡
are
you
a
prince?
I mean…maybe if at least ONE country in Africa could get their act together, they could extract their own oil.
However these people can’t even feed themselves. They will NEVER have the infrastructure available to drill themselves.
Beggars can’t be choosers.
I’m not sure what you want. Companies to just donate billions of dollars of equipment and infrastructure????
You want oil companies to just give handouts.
you are right
@@ians9390 U mean Nigerian prince that left a huge amount of money in a bank's vault that requires someone to claim it and receive 60% of the fund? There are some of them in Ghana and Asian countries especially Malaysia.
But what a world we live in... a world of shit, sometimes you want to ignore everything you see and hear, unfortunately it is not possible, because I am part of this world, I struggle not to see reality. I would really like to understand what would be better, we all know that power is too strong. I would really like to be sure that a solution to eradicate, totally eradicate evil has an existence. Excellent report. Thanks
is power too strong or are we too divided and disorganised ?

It is called western capitalism. And they will wage war on any other system that would challenge their rapacious exploitation of...everything.
I don’t consider myself part of the world, I’m just passing through
Very informative documentary. Thanks!

Like the approch of the videos
A question to the Nigerians; why have you not developed your own industries? Economy? Agriculture? Or even civil law? For over 100 years Europeans have been trying to spread civilization and the protection for individuals that the common law brings. And yet still Nigeria persists as a backwater in the jungle. If you on one hand beg for the services provided by the companies, and at once also bite this hand that feeds, you don't deserve it.
Más documentales asi😢

Saya sangat suka dengan film dokumenter ini 🎉🎉
This is pretty old... Most of the fighters shown here have been killed .. i.e john Togo
Please come to Ghana 🇬🇭
Thanks for adding Indo dub
😮hope and trust...❤
I hope the world wakes up and goes after these companies and these people get there compensation.
Thank you for your service, the most distinguish libration fighters in west Africa 🌍 we defend ourselves against the environment and Resource exploitation for the good of our land.! Not anyone! The oil producing region is intentionally abandoned by the government in the center and selfish leadership from the region.
The way Nigerians in the diaspora and on the internet are always bold and aggressive, it is surprising that they cannot stand up to their crooked government and these multi corporations.
Ale tak jest na całym świecie.
@@user-ny3kv7lk2u
The Nigerian government is also bold and aggressive. It's Nigeria that makes you bold and assertive. Another problem is that Nigerians don't like or trust each other. You have the ethnic and religious issue. If there were a revolution in Nigeria, it would end up like Sudan or Somalia.
never forget corruption of locals and local officials
Llenos de petróleo y la gente no tiene ni zapatillas

African can we please realise our potential and share the much we get with the rest of our fellow citizens.

One will have to question if there’s a government in Nigeria🇳🇬and on what obligation does it owe to his people : shameful as it may seem

Nice documentary.
Politicians are our problem.
I stopped listening to Timipre Silver since 1932

The same environmental and economic issues that has been highlighted for decades, yet every government turn a blind eye.
É um crime enorme, só Deus pra recompensar os culpados.
These are the people short changing the ordinary Nigerians.

If these young people understand the basics of crude oil refining with little education and no industry experience, why can't they be trained properly and employed in the country's refineries to make them productive? That would reduce insecurity and oil theft significantly.
This guy😮😮😮
Exceptional documentary. Saw an installation at MOMA in NYC in 2011 about Nigerian light sweet crude.
However Africa is waking up and starting to change the narrative
Smh...it's really sad to see just how horribly the big oil companies have ruined the natural environments where they set up.
Ohh my Nigeria 🤦🤦
Western colonial slave masters should leave African resources alone for Africans to move forward and develope Africa, that's why we will continue fighting until BIAFRA is free from evil Nigeria 🇳🇬
Africa LOVES “the west”.
It gives them a place to absolve all culpability.
🙄
Could this be the reason the people of southern Nigeria are agitating for a BIAFRA REPUBLIC ?
When the oppressed are tired of being oppressed, they will lash out at their oppressors…

I’m so disappointed in nigeria 🇳🇬 government big time
Lol 😂 no be Nigerian you come from
Oyinbo and your politicians are whom to hold responsible. Nice documentation
You can see the suffering on faces of the local people they don't even have a sowe system while their country is so rich, their wealth is enjoying by the french people in France
The way I originally read the title. lol
"What are the reasons that have led to the Nigerian people taking up arms?"
Because they, like many others, have realized its easier to make money with a gun and a threat, then a threat alone.
look at how poor the place is oh Africa 😢😢😢
Dibalik Chevron, Agip, Shell ternyata tidak begitu bagus
"Al cesar lo del cesar"

The Nigerians guys speak fluently
This place you people stop and recording is my area where i come from
Local authority is heavily involved in this and they don't care about their own people.
Okey here we go. +1 if you came here to comment on how you initially read that title.
uneducated much?
+1 what?
“Kewl” points?
Grow up.
@@ians9390 Just have some fun once in a while :))
I was thinking the same, like just because they're black and from the delta doesn't make it ok to call them that. Plus, oil men are created equal.
Didnt John togo die since the last time u interviewed him?
I am also surprised to him alive

Africa is rich but the people poor and all this is because of our jealousy for each other guys. We want everything for our selves to an extent that we even help our enemies. 😢

That’s how broken and delusional you are. THATS why you still need “the west” to babysit.
Hopefully soon crude oil use will be 20% because of modern technology.

😢 Why don't we do anything to stop this kind of stupid behavior? Do we wait that long until the entire population is dead and the area is dead of all living things? It's pointless to fight against climate change when such activities are going on in Nigeria! 😮
Oil! The real black death!

Tell me again about how bad it is in the US. There are an awful lot of spoiled brats in that country that say it's the worst place on earth. WTF is wrong with them?
