A few years ago for my birthday my niece gave me a container with just the charms in it to me for my birthday. She bought a box and picked them all out just for me. I’ll be reading. I don’t have any books. So I’ll stare at the ceiling and contemplate my live and the universe for a few hours… You just described my every day. Every time I need to or am supposed to do something, I go into “reading mode”. You realize you are more than a van lifer? For many of those young girls (but guys too) it’s a fad, something to do, to be different and to use as social media content. Their stories are real but with a strong fake undertone. You on the other hand, are more real. Your videos less scripted. Chances are, you truly are living your best life. We might be 25 or so years apart, but a lot of who you are, is also who I am. I’m genuinely happy being in my van. I lived out of a Toyota Highlander for 6 years before this, and I was happy even during a solar vortex and blizzard. I enjoy the natural light, the sky, being connected to my surroundings even if it’s in the city. My ideal setup up would be to life in a small cabin for 3 months, van life and travel for 3 months, and sailing to uninhabited islands in the carribean for the last 6 months. Family would be great, but only if they can accept this lifestyle. I’m getting carried away. Keep reading the sky.❤

I love how you are just genuine and candid in your videos, you don't try to make it seem like it's something that it isn't or that you're living some unrealistic, romanticized fantasy life in your magical vehicle of perfection! lol. You have a great sense of humor, and you shouldn't feel bad about yourself because other vanlifers have a more serious personality and a seemingly "perfect" lifestyle. You've inspired me a lot because your videos are unique, funny, and show the real side of vanlife. I too often struggle to find my place, because I am naturally more energetic, funny, and boisterous, and I've had people throughout my life tell me that I should "tone it down" or "I'm too loud" or "annoying" and I should be more serious. I'm slowly learning to accept myself for who I am, and you should too. People like us aren't meant to fit in or live up to certain standards. 1. I call those stores "junk stores" (well except TJ Maxx, that's a treasure store) 2. It's always so nice to see another letter writer! Handwritten letters are so important IMO and who gets happy mail from someone other than Amazon these days? Why don't more people write letters? 3. Don't worry about the van life niche. My generation (x) was all about “don’t label me “ everyone had to be unique and not fit into a category...even thought everyone fit Into the unique category 🤣. And I’m noticing how ur generation is all about the labels. Like the are seeking the identity in Order to know who they r. a “van lifer” doesn’t have a description. There may be a typical van lifer but that label doesn’t require you to behave a certain way. NO label requires us to be the typical example of said label. You are who you are, “van lifeing” is just where you are located !!!!

Hi I just want to say I understand what u were trying to explain about just being you and not the "van life" persona. That's actually the reason why I subscribed and have been binge watching all your videos ,because of your personality and your vibe it's so genuine and so down to earth, not trying to impress anyone,having fun with your videos . I look forward to them because it's fun to watch you and you are absolutely right about other channels and it being the same thing over and over. I wish we were friends in real life you have alot of similar vews about life like I do and feel we have alot of things in common . But for now I will enjoy watching you through my phone. I would recommend a ikea TV stand. I bought one for $17 and use it to store my power station, plates/pots, and food. I can also use the top of it as a table/desk. You could buy one of those portable pop up sinks for $7, and then just attach a water pump (abt $12 from amazon) to a gallon or more of water. The tv stand I have isn't too tall either, so it allows you to keep the space open. You could then use a small curtain to cover the open sides up so that it looks neater.

I have a routine but it’s not an unrealistic aesthetic routine lol. I do normal things. Like heating up my food in the microwave, setting up my car for parking. Head to parking spot get stealth and just eat watch UA-cam n just chill out lol I agree a lot of it seems fake. I’m in my car it’s been 2yrs and I think ppl get caught up in trying to be what they think van life is. If I upgrade to a van I probably won’t build it out either. I honestly think you should just do you girl✨

I’ve always wanted to live in a van and seeing most channels they seem so put together and everything is always so peaceful and scheduled. You being goofy and random and not scheduled makes me so happy!! Like YES girl you can be your own crazy, hippy self and not feel pressure to live a certain type of life. Gives me more hope for my future! Any tips on living alone? It’s weird because I find that I enjoy my time the most when I’m alone but for some reason I can be very dependent and feel weird seeking out solitude. I don’t feel like the typical van lifer at all, and for a long time I just didn’t relate to any other channels so I thought I’d just do me lol Feeling lonely will happen regardless of what lifestyle you choose, but with van life you’ll either start to love your own company even more, or feel more isolated than ever :/ but I can say that with time everything gets easier, including loneliness 🌷

All these van lifers car lifers or people in like the connect that's like a van but not they all have the same content which I do not follow I like following people that is in a car but some of their content stating to look similar too I'll say "fake". Yours is exceptional you bring personality is not fake it's not too "UA-cam paid" if I may say, I too have been going on this May (2022) will be 2 years SUV life and there's things I've been through gone through and got through that no one has or least posted and I have some tips and tricks of my own but I'm not or don't want to be a UA-cam creator. I still work my crazy hours (travel nurse) and for a minute I wanted a van but I'm more stealth in a SUV. Plus I live Midwest in the city but I travel still Midwest too so I like to blend in places where we're not permitted per se. But yeah they are starting to have content similarities I know who to watch and who not to watch based off views likes and the thumbnail tells me a lot.

I wouldn't have the patience filming and editing as much as some van lifers do. All the setting up cameras before they arrive someplace, then get back in Van, and film the drive up, all set to music. Same routine when they leave and pretty much go anywhere. Looks nice but thats a ton of work. You keep the same Alyssa. We like how you do!

You are the cutest !! It so fun to see the cast differences in just 1 generation. My generation (x) was all about “don’t label me “ everyone had to be unique and not fit into a category...even thought everyone fit Into the unique category 🤣. And I’m noticing how ur generation is all about the labels. Like the are seeking the identity in Order to know who they r. a “van lifer” doesn’t have a description. There may be a typical van lifer but that label doesn’t require you to behave a certain way. NO label requires us to be the typical example of said label. You are who you are, “van lifeing” is just where you are located !!!!
Sometimes people try to make something look more glamorous then what it is on social media. Alot of the time it's all show and not even genuinely them. Just be yourself and do what you do. Nice seeing you!

Hi I just want to say I understand what u were trying to explain about just being you and not the "van life" persona. That's actually the reason why I subscribed and have been binge watching all your videos ,because of your personality and your vibe it's so genuine and so down to earth, not trying to impress anyone,having fun with your videos . I look forward to them because it's fun to watch you and you are absolutely right about other channels and it being the same thing over and over. I wish we were friends in real life you have alot of similar vews about life like I do and feel we have alot of things in common . But for now I will enjoy watching you through my phone. I live in San Antonio, TX so maybe one day I can meet you in person 😊
I would recommend a ikea TV stand. I bought one for $17 and use it to store my power station, plates/pots, and food. I can also use the top of it as a table/desk. You could buy one of those portable pop up sinks for $7, and then just attach a water pump (abt $12 from amazon) to a gallon or more of water. The tv stand I have isn't too tall either, so it allows you to keep the space open. You could then use a small curtain to cover the open sides up so that it looks neater.
I almost stopped watching when you said your van life "evening routine". I'm glad I stuck with it. This was funny and insightful. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I have a routine but it’s not an unrealistic aesthetic routine lol. I do normal things. Like heating up my food in the microwave, setting up my car for parking. Head to parking spot get stealth and just eat watch UA-cam n just chill out lol
I agree a lot of it seems fake. I’m in my car it’s been 2yrs and I think ppl get caught up in trying to be what they think van life is. If I upgrade to a van I probably won’t build it out either.

Wow I’m so happy I found you. You saying how you’re not the “typical” van life person made me so happy. I’ve always wanted to live in a van and seeing most channels they seem so put together and everything is always so peaceful and scheduled. You being goofy and random and not scheduled makes me so happy!! Like YES girl you can be your own crazy, hippy self and not feel pressure to live a certain type of life. Gives me more hope for my future! Any tips on living alone? It’s weird because I find that I enjoy my time the most when I’m alone but for some reason I can be very dependent and feel weird seeking out solitude. How do you do it without feeling “lonely” or weird … if that makes sense?

Feeling lonely will happen regardless of what lifestyle you choose, but with van life you’ll either start to love your own company even more, or feel more isolated than ever :/ but I can say that with time everything gets easier, including loneliness 🌷

I understand wholeheartedly what you're talking about. All these van lifers car lifers or people in like the connect that's like a van but not they all have the same content which I do not follow I like following people that is in a car but some of their content stating to look similar too I'll say "fake". Yours is exceptional you bring personality is not fake it's not too "UA-cam paid" if I may say, I too have been going on this May (2022) will be 2 years SUV life and there's things I've been through gone through and got through that no one has or least posted and I have some tips and tricks of my own but I'm not or don't want to be a UA-cam creator. I still work my crazy hours (travel nurse) and for a minute I wanted a van but I'm more stealth in a SUV. Plus I live Midwest in the city but I travel still Midwest too so I like to blend in places where we're not permitted per se. But yeah they are starting to have content similarities I know who to watch and who not to watch based off views likes and the thumbnail tells me a lot.

I wouldn't have the patience filming and editing as much as some van lifers do. All the setting up cameras before they arrive someplace, then get back in Van, and film the drive up, all set to music. Same routine when they leave and pretty much go anywhere. Looks nice but thats a ton of work. You keep the same Alyssa. We like how you do!

I enjoy reading about health, traveling, and things to really make me think, like Atomic Habits or the 4-hour work week by Tim Ferriss.

There are more than enough channels trying to be Hannah, 😴 my real question is why they all stay in the same handful of areas? Especially the ones making decent enough money to see the whole country (?) why aren’t they touring the Appalachian trail? Or the South? I feel like if I were making decent money being a van lifer, I’d be trying to show new places…but I guess the genre is going to be west coast scenes only…oh, and vegan.
